Guehi is better than Konate, physique and way of movement makes konate prone to injuries.

Thanks Doctor.

11 Aug 2025 15:25:09
How many times have you seen Guehi play?

11 Aug 2025 15:45:20
Except Konate played 42 games in all comps last year and his only true injury was Endryk smashed him a few times.

Guehi is just something new, not better.

11 Aug 2025 15:54:20
And how often was konate injured last season?

11 Aug 2025 16:50:50
I was quite impressed with Guehi yesterday seeing him in the flesh.

But his performance wasn’t as good as a on form Konate performance though.

However I’d have him ahead of Quansah and Gomez on yesterday’s showing.

At what? Football or bingo.

11 Aug 2025 17:54:06
I seen him week in week out at Swansea he was a beast for them admittedly this is not the championship but I thinks he's improved a lot since then and will get better in our team.

I think Guehi brings versatility. Can play any of the back positions and also fill in at 6 if i'm not mistaken. I'd be happy to see him added at this point. We need depth.

Guehi has always impressed me. He’d be a superb signing, and would give me less palpitations about Virgil being injured. Intelligent player, who plays to his strengths. Thinking here of Ed’s excellent appraisal of Quansah. Some of the very best players know their weaknesses, and adjust their game accordingly. Keegan possibly a good example.

John in fairness mate you bet me £10 last season that Nunez would outscore Salah.

I’m guessing football or gambling (bingo) are your fortay either.

11 Aug 2025 19:57:41
Nope, Guehi is nowhere near Konate both player's best days. He also plays in a defensive system where he gets a lot of help from Mitchell, like he did yesterday doubling up on Salah. Whereas Konate used to play in the most open system in Europe and still more than held his own.

Also, I saw Konate win MOTM for that matter. As the @Shaq said, Guehi is just new. That doesn't make him at the same level (let alone better than Konate) when both are on form. Sorry but for me, that's not a thing.

{Ed025's Note - and if you do sign Guehi you will then tell everyone that you always wanted him and that hes world class Oli....i know you so well mate.. :)

11 Aug 2025 20:41:22
Are we talking about him being better than Konate because there is an assumption that Konate is leaving? Otherwise, why are we so obsessed with this? We need three quality starting calibre CBs.

11 Aug 2025 20:57:31
Ed0025 spot on.

Oli spent months preaching to anyone silly enough to listen that Frimpong and Kerkez weren’t good enough and Isak wasn’t ever happening so it was a non story to anyone who dared mention it.

11 Aug 2025 21:41:22
Konate won MOTM? What are you on about, Oli? When?
You're not still talking about the last CL final we lost to RM, are you?
I've told you about five times that Courtois was MOTM in that game.
Or are you just saying that he has won a MOTM award?

12 Aug 2025 03:32:10
Did Guehi get a lot of help from Mitchell or did Mitchell get a lot of help from Guehi in containing Salah? I'd say it's more of the latter than the former.

12 Aug 2025 06:07:35
Taxi for Oli.
