It's all very simple.
1) half of first team starters joined this summer
2) death of a team mate and friend
It is remarkable the results we have got under these circumstances. Things will gel but don't expect it to be overnight.
Their side is to achieve that and our side is to be positive and support the team to when it happens (likely months rather than years folks so keep patient) .
Personally I love the bumps along the journey as it makes things more interesting.

Spot on, 1jj. It's a small miracle that we are where we are with all those things consider at this point. We just need to recaliberate things tactically, selection wise and do a better job of putting players in the best positions and situations to perform their best. If we do that, we will have a chance of gelling a lot quicker and go from there. That's my hope, at least.

1jj good points but when we won the first 7 it didn’t seem to be an issue.
Surprised to hear earlier when we’ve scored first this season (7 times) we’ve won all 7. When we’ve conceded first (3 times) we’ve lost all 3.

I hope you're right 1jj, but for me, they are two parts that will undoubtedly have an effect, but there is more to it.
I see a squad and team of players that are fantastic players, but not necessarily the right profiles to compliment each other. I also think going into the season with such a heavy reliance on a 34 year old CB and a 33 year old forward was perhaps not the best planning - unless of course the idea is for Frimpong to rotate with Salah (which it doesn't look like it is, thus far) .

This sounds crazy but I think we are struggling for competition in certain areas, mainly the wings. Salah has literally no one to push him. Yes we signed frimpong but he did not impressed against Galatasaray and looks so lightweight. Then on the other side we have gone from Gakpo and Diaz to Gakpo and Rio a 16/ 17 year old boy who has played a few minutes here and there. This isn’t a dig at Rio by the way I like the lad. It’s just no competition for Gakpo who I think is very predictable.

@TP, I guess you are one of the few posters referred by @Salamon who is posting the same thing over and over again ?
You explained the same thing yesterday in another post. Though I agree with your opinion perhaps you should change your opinion and align with “lack of chemistry” and all you know lol ?.
09 Oct 2025 12:42:44
Tbh, I would put hold up a mirror and maybe, just maybe, consider that the person was referring to you instead, Harry ;)
09 Oct 2025 13:46:46
Why are we heavily reliant on Salah TBB? We’ve just spent £300m on attacking talent who have been bought to take the reins from Salah. They haven’t even got started yet and you’re writing them off as ‘not the right profile’?
We tried to sign Guehi to take pressure off VVD but due to circumstances beyond our control it didn’t happen so we have to go with what we have until January. But what we have at CB just won a title so they can’t be that bad can they?
You’re in your own head too much TBB.

OliRed, you say 'it's a small miracle we are here are' but a couple of days ago you told me that we are in 'pretty deep hole'.
Which is it?
09 Oct 2025 15:06:26
JK23 most would agree that we didn’t play that well and were slightly fortunate in those first 7 games hence I’d suggest we are ahead of sensible expectations. It will gel but will take longer than some are expecting.
09 Oct 2025 15:45:41
When we beat Bournemouth Salah was crying after the game. Of course it's affecting the players and everyone said it would in July but now we are in October some people think footballers are just robots and it shouldn't affect them anymore.
09 Oct 2025 16:30:02
Robbo - we may have signed £300m of attacking talent, but not one attacking player in our squad other than Salah is left footed. So if we're not going to play with someone cutting in (like Salah does) and change style, who exactly is going to play there? Chiesa is clearly not fancied and it doesn't look like it's going to be Frimpong from what I've seen, other than in an emergency. None of Isak, Ekitike or Wirtz play on the right either.
Some might say leaving the Guehi signing until the final day isn't the best planning.
We are short in both central defence and right wing.

Sorry, no specs on.
OliRed, you say 'its a small miracle we are where we are' but then you tell me, a couple of days ago, that we are in 'pretty deep hole'.
Which is it?

Wirtz007, you are definitely one of the main culprets! But then you are a city fan….
09 Oct 2025 20:29:33
Great original post @1jj and @TB2. It seems to be easy to forget that football players are actually just ordinary people, who have to do everyday things and who experience everyday ups and downs and emotions.
09 Oct 2025 21:02:06
Agreed 1jj.
10 Oct 2025 02:23:04
Not really related at all but i'm kind of curious why rigsby and jk23 dislike Oli so much, it's a little bit distracting haha.
10 Oct 2025 05:31:08
Not really sure why my comments would be a distraction to you Patrik.
But hey ho.
10 Oct 2025 07:51:33
PB, I find OliRed's posts condescending, hypocritical and some other things but I can't think of the words to describe them.
Maybe I shouldn't react as I do and as often as I do but it is the banter page. We're not all going to get on and we can take the pee out of each other, imo. It may not always come across well on the internet and in a face-to-face situation the way you say something or a facial expression can show that it's not really dislike for a person.
I've no dislike for anyone because I don't know them well enough.
And I don't want to be on Oli's ignore list.
10 Oct 2025 09:56:47
Okay lads, just wondering whether there was some longstanding vendetta that went back years and years, maybe I'm the only one who's as curious as I am.
10 Oct 2025 11:59:05
Nah, Oli gets on my nerves but that's my problem not his.
I think I've insulted every Liverpool player that I've ever watched, at some point, but it doesn't mean that I don't like them or don't want them to succeed.
I actually enjoy JK and Oli's exchanges (even if it is just Oli saying I'm not talking to JK) but my sense of humour is too close to the bone, at times.
10 Oct 2025 12:39:52
@PB, I can categorically state, without doubt, that there are a lot of curious people on this forum.
