Eds - can you poll this; Would you be happier for us to miss out on Champions League next season but we get rid of Slot in the summer for say Alonso or would you rather we qualify n see how Slot does next season?

Thinking back to Brodge, I am sorry to say I would rather a fresh manager come in with no champs league, concentrate on the league, play kids in europa. We wasted a season in 15/16 where klopp was left with a depleted squad that wasn't at the required level and hadn't trained with them in a pre season to build in their fitness to his levels.
we got Grujic and Caulker in because we bought poorly inthe summer and couldn't afford anything else., klopp then spent the next summer revamping the squad. It feels like we are a lot closer to 1st place int erms of squad than what our placement shows.
Wasting another summer budget on possible transfer that won't suit another manage down the road is not the 1.
Miss out on champs league, give Alonso the funds to buy in the 3/4 required players, let him move on the 5/6 unrequired players and have a full pre season with the lads.
Don't waste another season like we did with Brodge

Im with Robbie23 let's just get CL qualification and then we can shake hands and let Slot go. He leaves on his terms with reputation in tact and we can hopefully bring someone in who can reenergise these players and reconnect the club with the fans

just to put it out there, the request for this poll was on a thread where someone else posed the question. just wanted the poll to give a quick count.
Interestingly it's not as emphatic as I thought it'd be based on comments. Thought way more would give up CL in order for Slot to go

There is no guarantee that someone is a better candidate.
Getting a new manager has the same risk as brining in new players, you can never tell if it will be a success or not

I'll be honest I have no idea who does the hiring and firing at the club.
If I'm truly honest I have no idea who does the training, picks the team and sorts the tactics.
On this season alone it could very well be Irene the tea lady.

I voted No CL & Slot out to be honest. I think the longer he stays the more damage he will do.
Just qualifying for the CL should never be the zenith of our ambitions.

There was a time when it was the height of our ambitions.Look at UTD, if they didn't qualify this year they would be totally ducked.A coupla years out and everyone would take Slot back just to be back at the top table.

I find that it is strange that FSG and Edwards and Hughes would release any information in farvour or against Slot staying as head coach while there are 5 games to go. It really does not make sense with out full look over all of this season the performance of the head coach and his assistants, the players form, injuries, transfers.
I think maybe people are passing on rumours
I personally won't except the rumours until it is officially broad cast on the Liverpool TV Channel.

We already have Jacquet entering. we have Leoni to come in, but ideally I'd have Konate leave and another CB come in.
Elliot hasn't featured. he's no loss.

69% out of 319 votes (so far) in favour of missing out on CL and Slot going.
Looks like we're going to qualify for CL (oops, too soon!? )
Guess we'll just have to see what happens next!
