Latest on Isak, Newcastle are trying to get Sesko, but they're in a tug of war with Manchester United, if Newcastle get him, they will accept Liverpool's bid for Isak, ⏰️.

Surely Newcastle aren't going to lose yet another transfer tussle? I don't think I've ever seen a team miss out on every single one of their targets in a window the way they have.

It’s looking like he prefers united to Newcastle, they just offer more personal incentives to players than Newcastle can, it seems like Newcastle have to stick to a certain structure that’s holding them back with the more sought after players. Newcastle as a project is much more attractive but their recruitment team are performing shockingly at the moment. It’s almost to the point where I feel like it’s a PR trick to keep hold of isak, ‘we tried to get your replacement to let you go but we weren’t able to so you have to stay another year at least’ type of situation. I think they’ll just drag it on and not really push for his replacement unless they somehow get Sesko. I hope I’m wrong and I think the risk of this is exactly why we quickly went and got ekitike.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if united are trying to get sesko now because it could prevent us getting isak, there wasn’t strong links to him all summer until Newcastle started pushing for him.

I reckon all smoke and mirrors! We will get Isak!
28 Jul 2025 18:59:20
I'm told UTD are interested in him but they need to shift a few out the door which will be difficult. Newcastle are the only ones apparently that have spoken to both the club and agent about Sesko.
Let's hope 3rd time lucky for them ?.

Come on Kman, take your anti-United glasses off. It's not about money. He wants to go to United because they're a far bigger club than Newcastle and they're in a better location. Newcastle have a ceiling as a project so they aren't appealing at all for the top players. United, despite their dysfunction, have plenty of potential. If Sesko goes to Newcastle, it be to use them as a stepping-stone to get a move to a bigger club.

As if utd would be signing a player because they think it might effect the transfer of a different player to us ?? Ludicrous comment.
28 Jul 2025 19:13:01
Eddie Howe is having a mare. Needs to go back to what he does, just managing the team. He’s out of his depth with Transfer Windows.
28 Jul 2025 19:15:10
Isak will stay at Newcastle and they will have a discontented player on their hands.
28 Jul 2025 19:15:51
do you think an option of Nunez on loan to newcastle could be on the table in order to get the isak deal done?
28 Jul 2025 19:21:06
United signing Sesko so Liverpool can't sign Isac?
Mean while back on planet Earth.
28 Jul 2025 19:48:26
Prefers relegation battle to mid table obscurity.
28 Jul 2025 19:51:50
United's sphere of influence relating to who Liverpool sign, is the size of a marble these days.
They were flirting with relegation last season, this would be 4D chess to them to pull that off.
With the end game of stopping Liverpool getting Isak, they can only dream.

Thank you for the info!
I have no basis for this, but I think Newcastle will sell Isak regardless of what happens with Sesko. It won't be ideal, but how often does an offer like this come along. It allows you to strengthen more than 1 position.
I'm hoping the info is correct, but also hope they can pivot from Sesko if needed.
28 Jul 2025 20:15:10
would Newcastle getting one of Watkins/ Jackson also soften their stance?
28 Jul 2025 20:17:51
I did think the same snoots but they have done well to bring in Mbuemo and Cunha who could have easily went champions league sides.
28 Jul 2025 20:40:48
So are we acting like teams haven’t done that sort of thing in the past? Signed players so other teams can’t get them ? is this news to you? There’s a lot of politics in football transfers so as I said, I wouldn’t be surprised. They need a striker but they were never linked to sesko until Newcastle started pushing for him and we started pushing for isak.
28 Jul 2025 21:05:57
I really can't see another team spanking £60m+ on a player that they don't want (or do they? ) just to annoy another team!
However, I don't know why Newcastle don't sign Nunez?
28 Jul 2025 21:59:14
Newcastle have a real issue to compete for the top players they want. If they break their wage structure, they'd have to increase the salary of Bruno, Big Joe, etc or risk them being unhappy.
It might mean they need to go down their list to get cheaper targets. If Utd shift a few (big ask), they can offer huge wages and convince the player to go to someone much lower down the table.

@Babbity, Newcastle ‘s a great place and is in a nicer part of the country than Manchester.
{Ed025's Note - i love Newcastle, the Big market and Quay side are boss..
28 Jul 2025 22:39:52
Aren’t Newcastle without a sporting director atm?
