Liverpool want Salah gone to fund winter admissions and news breaking that Salahs outburst is largely due to his agent finding out the club have been offering him to Saudi behind his back!

{Ed001's Note - isn't that exactly what I have been telling you all?}

08 Dec 2025 23:28:34
Oh well that’s ok then. Salah is well within his rights to whinge to the press, putting the team, manager and club under unnecessary pressure when we are already on our worst run since the 50s and he’s on his worst run since he signed for us.

What a stand up guy he his.

If this is true Downey all I can say is that Salah has proven that the club had already made the right decision. The sooner he’s gone the better for me he’s burned his bridges and needs to go so we can move forward with the squad rebuild.

08 Dec 2025 23:29:49
It seems people don’t want to believe that the club is engineering his exit/ sale and he’s raging about it.

08 Dec 2025 23:47:01
But Salah doesn't have to go to Saudi. He signed a two year contract earlier this year.

09 Dec 2025 00:11:25
Sean Dundee Not a good idea to be off your meds without your doctors approval. You don't think Salah has a right to be upset that he was promised one thing 6 months ago only for him to find out the club are doing the exact opposite behind his back?! The mans arguably a tp 5 all time Liverpool legend, if its true that Liverpool have been flogging him around without first talking to him its the absolute height of disrespect. So many fans chat rubbish about "the Liverpool way" when it comes to respecting the club and standing behind the manager. What about he players, what about club legends? Does Mo not deserve to be treated with respect?

If this is true he absolutely 100% had the right to say what he said.

09 Dec 2025 00:36:39
True Rigsby but he's not exactly coming across as a "Happy to sit on the bench if I have to and pocket my 400K a week" kind of guy.

09 Dec 2025 00:52:05
A transient employee.

09 Dec 2025 01:19:38
Well we couldn't sell Trent n Konate so we're just going to change our tune n demand Salah be banished, funny that.

09 Dec 2025 02:57:50
Football is a business and players are assets.

If Liverpool get rid of Salah in July 25, they get £0?

If Liverpool get rid of Salah in Jan or Jul 26, they get £50m+

If Salah decides to stay at Liverpool then he keeps the subs bench warm and fades away out of the spotlight.

It’s not about emotions, or legends, it’s about money.

09 Dec 2025 03:30:31
Is this the same agent that had been hawking Salah around to Real Madrid and Barcelona, now its a problem. double standards?

09 Dec 2025 05:37:43
Bazzinga that never happened though did it as Salah always wanted to stay at Liverpool so nice lie. As for Sean Dundee you’re okay with Slot and Hughes double power trip pushing players out. Utter fool you are.

09 Dec 2025 06:38:45
Absolutely right Ron. Ed002 told us for years how Salahs agent was looking to get Madrid/ Barca interested. Can't have it both ways.

{Ed001's Note - actually I have explained that Salah didn't want to leave against advice but he was being hawked round just in case any of them made an offer that his lawyer/agent could use to tempt him to move. The guy was just doing his job, but that doesn't mean Salah was looking to leave. He never was and never entertained any other offers while his contract was running down either.}

09 Dec 2025 07:04:26
I’m just curious to know if people would still think the same if Salah hadn’t said anything this weekend.

If the news broke that the club had been working to get him out the door would the reaction still be - ah well, see you later?

I’m just not entirely sure why the club, or potentially Hughes and co, are necessarily getting a free pass re their behaviour but Salah is getting hung out to dry for his.

09 Dec 2025 07:06:15
If I can share my thoughts, Salah like Trent should have kept his opinions out of the press. I would be annoyed if a player was happy to warm the bench every week but please keep it in the dressing room.
Yes it is business and Liverpool have done the right thing, we don’t lose him for nothing, we signed him up for two years to try and get some money in a transfer in January or July 26.

Makes sense but he should not be speaking to the press, it has made Liverpool the centre of attention rather than allowing us to find the winning formula on the pitch again.

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool have not done the right thing, they have treated a human being like a piece crap.}

09 Dec 2025 07:11:37
Ed1, I don't think most of the posters here ever bothered to read anything you've explained. Most of them just see posts bashing Salah and decide to join the trend, because bashing Salah is the thing to do at the moment. I do wonder how many posts you've had to delete since this Salah situation blew up.

I also admire how patiently you explain everything you know about the situation. No wonder the great Ed2 came up with one of the best replies ever: “RTFP. ”.

{Ed001's Note - I really miss him even more right about now that is for sure!}

09 Dec 2025 07:35:15
JLDA, I meant from the club's perspective. The OP said Liverpool wants to get rid of Salah.
They didn't want to get rid of him earlier in the year but things could well have changed since.
I have no idea what is going on though.

09 Dec 2025 07:41:42
I'm sorry, Kwhizz. If I remember correctly, fans were bashing Trent every day for being quiet about his contract situation. Every day there were posts here bashing him, saying he should say something because "he owes fans some clarity. " Why do we easily forget about that? Maybe it's because it doesn't suit your narrative.

09 Dec 2025 08:39:19
To be fair to Salah, he has had to watch Konate being picked game after game, costing us game after game, not so discreetly wanting Madrid or PSG, personally he either should never of got the contract offer or should be played as a central striker, our slow, boring play is never going to suit him after years of fast counter pressing attacks, the manager has brought this on with his inability to adapt his tactics and get the best out of squad which would be the envy of most teams in the world.

09 Dec 2025 08:42:57
Who plays right wing if we sell Mo?
Not Szob surely, he needs to be in centre.
Wirtz?
Semenyo mostly plays left
Ekitike?

09 Dec 2025 08:45:12
The games gone, and people wonder why players run their contract down now. Look I get it, money rules the game but still as frustrating as it is that Mo aired his dirty laundry, you would like to hope our club would treat people better, especially people who've given so much to the club and will go down as one of our greats regardless how it ends up.

Also the same people who slate people who go to city and Chelsea over the years and earn a fortune to sit on the bench will be the same people who slate Mo for not being happy about it.

I'm disappointed with the club to be honest, disappointed with Mo too but I also remember reading that this stuff happens quite regularly. So while we want players to have undivided loyalty to our club, how can we expect them to do so as the club clearly sees them as a commodity.

Anyway, I'm disillusioned with the whole thing at the mo. So I'll support the team every time on the pitch as the only way I know how. come on you Redmen! Need a big performance tonight.

09 Dec 2025 09:02:21
The club made the player, the player grafted for his part and added a tremendous contribution to the team (s) across his tenure.

Don’t now spoil that graft by slating the very entity that got you to where you are, fall out of fashion with dignity and respect for in every resources lifetime (no matter what your role) there will come a point where a new guard is required.

Truth is, whilst a grader and a massive contributor, the player got more from the club than the reverse.

Look at our Sir Kenny and learn from how to really conduct yourself Mo it will help with the continued maturity.

09 Dec 2025 09:03:01
I fail to see the difference between the club acting in their interests and trying to see who would be interested in buying Salah given his form has fallen off a cliff this season and Salah’s lawyer hawking him around to see if he could get him a move. Both are acting in the interests of their employee. Difference is the club don’t rock up to the press and moan about it to the world. However, Ed01 has made me think more about Salah’s point of view.

if it is true he knows he’s being sold his reaction does show how much he loves the club as he’s absolutely gutted he’s not going to be here much longer and he did deserve to be dealt with differently given he is a legend and all he has done for our club. However, if you believe the club who have said they weren’t looking to sell him and it’s all about him being on the bench which he deserves then I have no sympathy for him. Interesting one.

09 Dec 2025 09:33:41
It’s clear the club gave him a new contract so they could cash in on him rather than have him leave on a free. Very good business but a little dubious morally.

Having said that, players often have the club over a barrel by leaving on a free if they are not happy with the contract. Mo did this himself judging by the length of his negotiations. Good business by Mo’s agent but a little dubious morally.

If Mo had kept up his previous form this season it is likely none of this would even have arisen. If you play crap, the club are going to cash in on their asset.

09 Dec 2025 09:47:53
Wdw if its all about money, then why did Liverpool allow 2 players ( Tent n now konate) who were worth 50mill plus to run their contracts down, that doesn't make sense.

09 Dec 2025 10:20:05
WarMachine - Salah, rightly or wrongly, spilled his thoughts and feelings in the mixed zone.

Meanwhile the suits at the club activated the local journos to build a negative narrative and in some cases pure hit pieces on him. Classy stuff.

09 Dec 2025 10:36:26
I don't know Darwin, i honestly think last seasons brilliance earned and justified him getting a new contract. Then this season, his form has dropped massively. Form i might add that had 90 percent of the posters on here wanting exactly what has happened, Salah out of the side. Now Salah is out of the side? Outrage.

War Machine makes the good point that what the club have done is no different to what Salahs agent according to Ed002 has done for the last 8 years. Now that must be true because Ed002 was never corrected on it. Just a sad situation. My favourite player of the last 10 years. Hopefully it can be sorted.

09 Dec 2025 10:50:27
@Darwin ‘football and morality’ are becoming / have become mutually exclusive. Infantino gave Trump a peace award on behalf of football at a World Cup draw less than a mile away from the White House. The game has gone to hell.

09 Dec 2025 11:50:04
Agree WDW, I remember enjoying the sport a lot more when we had no awareness of what was happening behind the scenes and all the players’ contracts and disputes, all the business dealings and transfer sagas. All these back stories take away from being able to complain about how crap we sometimes play :)

09 Dec 2025 12:15:24
The thing is, I don't think the club even told Salah that he was unwanted or that they wanted to sell him. Inferring his press statement, all communication between him and the club suddenly stopped and he found out through other means that they have been trying to sell him behind his back instead dif being upfront with him about it.

The club has acted poorly. If they didn't want him then just tell him to his face instead of sneaking around behind his back.

{Ed001's Note - spot on.}

09 Dec 2025 12:47:24
I preferred it when desperate scousewives was the only drama on this page.

09 Dec 2025 13:11:31
I have to admit that the club have acted so poorly. Salah speaking out is not ideal but think how you would react if your employer done the same thing. The club and those supposedly running it have gone down in my estimation big time.

09 Dec 2025 13:14:46
Someone said it is not the Liverpool way over MO. This is not the same Liverpool it is now all about maximising finance and all players are commodities and MO and all the other players need to understand that they want the big wages this is a condition of them wages.

Liverpool got the fingers burnt over Trent and will try never to have them burnt again. So out burst like MO did not do him any good if they want him out he will be going end of thanks to Edwards and Hughes the new Liverpool.

09 Dec 2025 13:32:05
Still don’t think he should have spoke to the press as he did Ed01. Everything should have been more dignified than it has been. The club looks awful at the moment. Hopefully things can only get better.

09 Dec 2025 14:06:05
Stroms; The entire game is all about money. Once it became that, it'll never return to NOT being about it.

09 Dec 2025 14:06:14
Genuinely question, if a club decides they want to move a player on is it normal practice to find out if there's interest first then let the player know what's happening based on this interest or is the player told the club want to move the player on before seeing what actual interest there may be in him?

{Ed001's Note - usually the player is informed, it gives them time to deal with things like kids being at school etc and also a chance for their agent to find a move that suits them.}

09 Dec 2025 14:11:35
Dracred: that is the best synopsis of the current situation I have read yet. Simple and correct in every way. There surely will be questions asked of E&H and Slot about allowing this to happen in such a manner. In 20 years time nobody will remember those 3. But they'll forever remember Mo Salah.

09 Dec 2025 15:44:57
It’s all rather sad that it has come to this. I don’t like that Salah spoke publicly because from an aesthetics perspective he does only seem to do media when he is angling for something, having said that if hughes, Edward’s or slot are moving mad in the background and indeed trying to force him out of the club to generate income only months after a renewal then serious questions need to be had because that kinda rubbish impacts the whole squad in the long term.

For a player of Salah’s stature in the club surely there was a more respectful and controlled way to manage this.

09 Dec 2025 16:18:28
Isnt that a risk for the club Ed that you could be stuck with a sulking player if it turns out there is no interest in him?

{Ed001's Note - most of the time, players wanted out are not in the team anyway, but those that are will usually have an incentive to try harder to get a better team and deal when they move.}
