Update,

Hoeness wants the job, LFC like him but the caveat is.

Julian Nagelsmann.

Big decisions ahead for the club.

Alonso is still off, Slot may oversee until Christmas now.

Expectatio, Nagelsmann will wait for LFC project proposal.

Very very very strange times, Edwards and Hughes must leave.

Hope everyone is well.

Ta.

29 Apr 2026 00:27:27
Nagelsmann is the German Bodgers.

29 Apr 2026 00:37:37
FSG Out.

29 Apr 2026 01:19:06
Cheers, Carra.

Arne Slot is the caretaker manager while the directors gamble seasons away, yet preserve their myth as the smartest people in the room. Totally normal behaviour.

29 Apr 2026 02:23:35
Hi Carra,
Thanks for the update, but this seems to change day to day! Truth is, nobody knows what's happening imo.

29 Apr 2026 03:08:03
This is some caretaker job.

29 Apr 2026 03:34:01
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

{Ed078's Note - please be respectful of those who freely share what info they have, it's part of the fabric of this site. There are no guarantees, but there's also no shame on Carra.

29 Apr 2026 04:03:39
Cheers Carra, much appreciated as usual. These are very concerning times.

29 Apr 2026 05:37:30
Cheers Carra, we need the thumbs down button back for some of these comments.

29 Apr 2026 05:48:58
We're in big trouble with these clowns running the club. Who in their right mind thinks starting a season knowing you'll sack the manager is a good idea? You're setting the new manager up to fail, and potentially sabotaging another season for the club. Insane decision.

29 Apr 2026 06:18:38
Disgusting.

29 Apr 2026 05:47:46
Thanks Carra

Appreciate the feedback.

Hope you're keeping well Mate.

Everytime I read a post about Edward's, I keep looping back to what Ed1 always said about Klopp and Edward's.Klopp could see what a problem that man was.

29 Apr 2026 06:29:38
Thanks, Carra.
Deeply disappointing, but appreciate the info.

Sack the board.

29 Apr 2026 06:39:24
Thanks, Carra.

Seems to me the club is trying to flush out leaks, so on that basis my money would be on the ones they're a) not talking about or b) ruling out.

That would be a) Iraola or b) Alonso.

29 Apr 2026 06:39:43
Hi Carra, thanks for the update. Have you found out why Alonso is suddenly off? The club has seemingly held out all season, when they could've sacked him in November/December for wanting Alonso, and now we had a free run, a big change of heart.

Nagelsman was heavily rumoured around the time Klopp left, and will be greeted with the same negativity as he was then, I'm sure. Feels like we are in for a very rough few years.

29 Apr 2026 06:44:07
Well, that's me not paying much interest in LFC for a while.

29 Apr 2026 06:59:39
Appreciate the update.

Just think, when the current one is already unfit, with Alonso at the line, waiting for Nagelsmann for half a season more is insane. Especially, he is not the chosen one like Klopp was.

If we compare Nagelsmann and Alonso, they both succeeded at medium clubs in Germany, but Alonso apparently shined better with his unbeaten season against Bayern. While they both moved to giant clubs and failed, Alonso mainly failed due to his harsh management of childish players.

While, Nagelsmann was sacked due to his bad relationship with the board and "tendency to antagonise key members of the dressing room" like Neur.

Both young coaches, rather choose the one with connections with fans and can maintain good relationships with our players, for sure he will get the best from Wirtz and Frimpong.

29 Apr 2026 07:16:34
Thanks, Carra.

Seems we've gone from one of the best well run clubs, only a few seasons ago, to a disaster behind the scenes.

Certainly reeks of big egos.

The thought of more SlotBore football is a tough one to take, especially when the main guy was there for the taking.

29 Apr 2026 07:18:42
Cheers, Carra, but forgive my ignorance, but why wait until Xmas? Surely Hoeness would be ready in the summer to take over. And, Nagelsmann would be done in the summer if Germany get knocked out. So he could take over once that happens. Giving Slot 4 months to wreak more havoc seems insane, and then to impose a new brand of football. Madness.

29 Apr 2026 07:22:39
This makes no sense from Edwards and Hughes, you either back your manager and think he's your man or get someone else in and support him. Not plan on giving current manager until Christmas?? Wtf.

29 Apr 2026 07:22:54
Cheers for update, Carra. Obviously lots of things going on at the moment, and it seems difficult for anyone to pinpoint exactly what's going on.

Weird that he could be kept on until Christmas, don't understand that... Are they gonna back him again in the summer just to get rid in December...

I'm also not sold on Nagelsmann personally either.

Let's hope things are clearer at the end of the season, Slot walks off into the sunset, and Hoeness comes in if Alonso doesn't.

tbh, anyone who can get the intensity and high levels back and shows a bit more passion and love for our club.

29 Apr 2026 07:38:02
Still don't get why people go on rumours sites and they don't like the rumours. I guess they're a bit too ...rumoury. ?

29 Apr 2026 07:49:14
I had seen someone else mention Nagelsman but wasn't sure what to make of it. Seems like a tactically astute guy and does have the credentials for it, just interesting to see what his personality would be like as that also intertwines with the club.

I fear the summer window ahead could be a mess. Do you reckon it was always the plan that Slot/Hughes/Edwards would both do the 3 years of their contract as a "changeover" from the Klopp era? The situation with Hughes and Edwards and their contracts is also not ideal.

I was and still am expecting a mutual parting of ways with Slot, but if they are leaving it until November that stinks of the time we did the same with Rodgers. Really not sure what to make of us atm. Feels like we are in the eye of a storm, and we don't know our arse from elbow.

Ken.

29 Apr 2026 08:20:16
Cheers, Carra.

29 Apr 2026 08:20:39
As long as Slot is gone soon they can replace him with whoever they want lol.

In all seriousness though, there's some decent coaches about. Let's hope we pick the right one, because Slot is not it.

Also, can't believe Nagelsmann is still only 38, he seems to have been around forever.

Although I don't think Nagelsmann is the best option out there, I also don't think he's a bad option either, I'd have him in right now over Slot. I'd just make sure his office has a big window and no curtains so there's no more shenanigans. ?

29 Apr 2026 09:10:17
All smoke and mirrors. Leaks plugged and bum steers being sent out in all directions.

29 Apr 2026 09:14:07
ArnieJ, have a bit of respect to any and all who post on here, please.

Nagelsmann, no thank you. Hopefully it's Hoeness. ?

29 Apr 2026 09:18:56
Honestly can't believe anyone in their right mind would choose Nagelsmann over Alonso.

Alonso literally took a club who were perennial failures and in the bottom half of the table, and not only made them title winners, but unbeaten ones at that. It would be the equivalent of making Spurs Premier League champions.

Nagelsmann, on the other hand, won literally nothing at Red Bull other than "vibes and feels" from the hipster tactico types.

Winning the title at Bayern isn't anywhere near as impressive an achievement by comparison. I reckon even Bodgers could do that.

It looks like we're choosing to throw away another season, sticking with Slot, to only compound that failure by going for the Teutonic Bodgers, and, if that's the case, we can wave goodbye to any chances of winning major titles for a long time to come.

29 Apr 2026 09:20:29
At this rate, best plan is to Slot until the end of his contract and convince Enrique to join in that time.

29 Apr 2026 09:45:42
IagoAspasCorners, Enrique has agreed to extend his contract to 2030. He's not going to leave PSG. Particularly not if he has to fix the mess that Slot leaves behind.

29 Apr 2026 09:49:08
A big reputation is on the line, and so far, some decisions that have been made look like one man's fantasy, rather than good business.
Edwards will never struggle for work, but if FSG ran a club so well for this long, only for the final big push towards the next legacy to be derailed because of ego and a hunger for power, it won't reflect well.

Everything that is happening now is an effort to ensure the next steps made are the right ones.

No one really knows anything other than the inner circle. The leaks were getting out of hand and could seriously undermine the process.

My guess is that Alonso will be the manager, but that between now and then there will be so many rumours flying about to ensure that everyone is confused. It's an old spy agency tactic.

29 Apr 2026 10:27:12
Hoeness would be a good appointment.
Not sure why Slot would get until Christmas. We will probably be mid table at that point. Is what it is, I guess, but thanks for the info, keep it up!

29 Apr 2026 10:40:17
I thought we were in a real mess before reading the latest Carra news. It's actually a lot worse that that, unfortunately. Naglesmann is a right profile fit for the other 3 incumbent circus clowns we have on board in Hughes, Edwards, Slot.

FSG need to seriously up their game here, or the downward spiral will accelerate rather rapidly. This is just negligent indecision of the highest possible order. Unbelievable.

29 Apr 2026 10:54:53
Why would it be Slot until Xmas? They are gonna pay him off 6 months before he's out the door? What if we're doing well? You're not going to sack him. That part of the OP's post, I find bizarre.

29 Apr 2026 10:55:46
100% SG mate.

29 Apr 2026 10:59:07
The Isak deal did not need to happen as it did, when it did. It could have been carried out in a much more respectful way, by Edwards suggesting to the player we would come in for him a season later, out of respect for Newcastle and to not rock the boat.
This became an 'art of the deal' situation, a game of poker face that was more about winning than what was best for all involved.

A zero sum game.
Sometimes the motives are personal, and this is where things can go wrong.
imo Edwards is a third of what he was when Jurgen and Ian were part of the team behind making big decisions, but let's see.

29 Apr 2026 11:03:30
I find it more bizarre that FSG would/could let this materialise in any shape or form.

29 Apr 2026 11:23:44
Alonso moved in from 10s to 1.36 in betting for next Liverpool manager in recent months at big betting site. Some say "follow the money." Hope that proves true in this case.

29 Apr 2026 11:28:31
@viktorvaughan, nothing confirmed on that rumoured Enrique extension as far as I've seen? It's clear he admires the club and Carra noted the same. Wonder if he thinks where do we go from here if he achieves a second European cup with PSG... (other than "let's do it all again").

29 Apr 2026 11:39:54
Thanks, Carra. Appreciate the updates.

29 Apr 2026 11:47:27
I'm waiting to see what the window cleaner has to say.

29 Apr 2026 11:49:03
Cheers, Carra. Not what we want to hear, but as there's no leaks happening, Slot still goes.

29 Apr 2026 12:08:37
Thank you, Carra, and honestly it doesn't surprise me at this point.

Slot was under major pressure at the end of last year. Last summer's signings were not adequate, and if you take the whole picture, it is not reading very well.

I don't know where this ends up, to be honest with you.

Serious questions need to be asked. The whole reaction to ticket sales has not been brilliant either, with Billy Hogan seemingly smirking in the stands.

I don't know what to say that's positive, to be honest.

29 Apr 2026 12:21:15
Why write off one season when you can write off two?

Keeping Slot until Christmas is madness. Oh, well. Looks like more trophies for City.

29 Apr 2026 12:49:55
Thanks, Carra, for sharing what you know.

We have been one of the best run clubs for a while now. The owners do not become incompetent just because we are impatient and do not understand what is happening behind the scenes.

I want Slot out, 6 months ago. I'm not happy if he stays. But, these are just my emotions. I trust the men with the power have a plan.

29 Apr 2026 13:22:48
Fsw, You're fast becoming one of my favourite posters.... mainly because you tell me what I want to hear lol.

What you say makes a lot of sense... I just hope it's right and we end up with the right man in charge before the new season gets underway...

29 Apr 2026 13:56:01
IagoAspasCorners, that's exactly what every manager thinks when they're on top. You don't get bored of winning. There's no way Enrique comes in under the current model with Edwards and his control freak ways.

Enrique has to approve transfers at PSG and has the power to veto those suggested by the higher-ups. He also doesn't have to deal with the sell-to-buy nonsense that sees us lack depth season after season.

29 Apr 2026 14:32:46
Well, this means we won't have a decent pre season!

Carra, please tell Slot to get the players actually fit enough for a season, and to attack Luke we expect!

Cheers, Carra.

29 Apr 2026 16:28:55
Thanks for the tips, Carra. Pls, keep sharing.

ArnieJ, you are aware that you don't have to be here and no one has to tolerate your nonsense, right?

So if you are going to be here then please, do the barest minimum and show some damn respect the posters (regardless of who they are) even tho, you don't agree with what they say, rumours or not.

29 Apr 2026 17:37:42
Thanks, Carra, for the info.

It baffles me how 2 people in Hughes and Edwards who are so handsomely paid, cannot come to a decision. What is the point of keep Slot till December, if they want to continue with him then give him the confidence and let him sort out his own mess.

This half-baked approach is killing the club and undoing all the good work Jurgen did.

They both need to be kicked out before Slot.

29 Apr 2026 17:39:11
What a moaning shower. From FSG bringing in Klopp, winning the league with Arne and now crying. Yes, it's not the best, but many of you have to question your own judgement. The season was a blip, there will be an internal restructure and a manager will arrive - end of. Obviously there's loads we don't know about but that's footie.

29 Apr 2026 18:14:53
The Lid, don't tell fans how to feel. If you're a rose tinted optimist, good for you. The fact you're blindly trusting the club is pathetic. We are crap and so is the manager. I'll be taking a one year break from my season ticket next season.

29 Apr 2026 18:32:26
Shankley, it's a lot worse than even the Fat Spanish Waiter knows. ?

Nice one, Carra.

29 Apr 2026 20:22:34
Things are going from bad to worse, The Fields!!! Slot Out! Again!

29 Apr 2026 22:09:44
We are doomed!

Clueless manager with no tactics who doesn't want to be here.

Quality manager available in Alonso and we're ignoring him.

Another quality manager in Hoeness that we're ignoring.

We're going to give the current clown another transfer window and until Christmas?! That will see us mid table and massively less attractive to any possible manager that may want to come for a dead man walking job.

Edwards out, Hughes out, and most importantly Slot out.

29 Apr 2026 23:27:24
Am I the only one who found above FSG out and then the fact there were 32 thumbs up comical? Somebody tell me who would be better ownership?
