Both Mbaye and Barcola have agreed personal terms. PSG want us to pay more than what they quoted Leverkusen, so can understand Liverpool saying, hang on a moment. Barcola's price has risen, and even Romano has said it won't be for the money quoted.
Most deals are done over the length of a player's contract, up to a max of 5 years, but it all depends on how much is upfront.

Owners will splash the cash as long they can recoup money. Gakpo will be the one to go out of the two, because Macca will run his contract down, do a Trent and Konate, and go to Real for free in the near future, and Pool know that. So it will be Gakpo, Elliott, Jones and maybe Endo to recoup some money back.

DarrenA, everything, even a fee, could be agreed, but Liverpool are likely looking to spread the cost. Probably even have nonsense clauses that will 100% be met. Whereas PSG likely want more of the payment up front. Things like that, and each club wants what best suits them for income/outcome.
