How on earth are we going to shift grav on with the wages he’s on? he offers nothing apart from the odd konate like mess up.

29 Oct 2026 07:05:32
He's in a bad spell at the moment, the sending off against city has just spiralled him a little bit even though he was playing great in that game, he needs to come out of the team for a couple games and just come on for 10 minutes to get back to simple stuff just because a player is in bad form doesn't mean you have to sell them.

29 Oct 2026 07:15:17
Nice show of support to our players.

29 Oct 2026 07:20:10
You don't need to sell players just because they're out of form.

{Ed025's Note - even if they have been out of form for 18 months?..

29 Oct 2026 07:31:21
He looked superb in the City match until the softest yellows of all time.

{Ed025's Note - one swallow does not make a summer KJH..

29 Oct 2026 07:33:30
I feel amazed when we call ourselves the best fans in the world. There is absolutely nothing special about us. We are as ordinary and fickle as anyone else.

29 Oct 2026 07:44:07
We have millions of fans worldwide. You'll always get some who say silly things.

One Chelsea fan was on the radio last night saying sack Alonso!

Nothing to see here, move along.

29 Oct 2026 07:45:43
There was a few people on here saying that we should get rid of VVD because he made a mistake in a match. To be fair though - the few calling him out have never made a mistake.

29 Oct 2026 07:54:35
I don't think there's anything wrong calling out poor performances as Gravenberch wasn't great last night but we also all now how good he can be. Either he'll click and get it right and start putting in more performances like the one against City or he needs some time on the sidelines.

I was more concerned with how and why Gakpo stayed on the pitch for the whole game. Penalties apart I thought he was shocking. Before his injury he'd been looking great but since then he's looked more like what he was last season. I'd happily give him more time but again, like Gravenberch, he probably needs taking out of the side for a bit imo.

Other than those two I thought everyone done great last night, especially the young lads who came in.

I had a feeling Tsimikas would want to take what he thought would be the winning penalty again and I also had feeling he'd miss but hey ho fortune favoured us and we got through.

Let's hope we really go at Arsenal at the weekend like Brighton did and hopefully we can get a result. (I'd start Nyoni and Rio over Grav and Gakpo otherwise same lineup as last weekend)

Out of form, good one.

First season Klopp didn't fancy him at all, second season ok slot got a tune out of him. Third season rubbish but I guess they all were, now fourth season and he's started really bad came out the team. Played well for the odd half an hour but he's a liability.

At the end of the day, we won't be having Mac, sob, grav and other on big wages so someone got to go and it better not be Mac and keep Grav.

29 Oct 2026 08:35:00
Grav just needs someone to discipline him and tell him to focus on playing solely as a 6 rather than box to box mid. Receive under pressure, beat the man and release the ball. Rinse and repeat - teaching him how to follow a runner would be useful too.

29 Oct 2026 08:49:50
Guess all the managers he's had must be missing that info brummyred.

29 Oct 2026 09:11:29
Why is it wrong to call out someone if they're not performing?

If I make a mistake in my place of work I get called out & I'm not on £250k per week.

29 Oct 2026 09:13:43
I'm not saying we should get shot of him
Like some on here by the way.

29 Oct 2026 09:21:57
Why is everyone so obsessed with Gravenberch's wages?

Sounds like jealousy to me.

I don't know or care what his wages are but as long as he plays for Liverpool I'll support him.

I think he'll prove the doubters very wrong.

29 Oct 2026 09:58:01
How about we wait till the end of the season before making rash decisions?

Remember that bringing in new players isn't always an instant fix. They too may need time to develop at the club.

7 months of the season left, Andoni is improving a lot of players, so we may as well wait till the end and take stock rather than making wholesale changes in Jan.

29 Oct 2026 10:14:42
Nobody is complaining about calling his performance out he was terrible yesterday yes, majority are saying you don't need to hyper fixate on his wage and say get rid every time someone has a bad spell. jesus you'd think we'd lost 10 games in a row.

29 Oct 2026 11:02:24
Rio, it's pretty normal to be jealous of someone on £280k a week. No one deserves to be on that for kicking a ball around but the least you can expect is for them to not be consistently poor. I don't feel harsh saying this as he has barely put effort into many of the games this season, strolling around.

You should care what our players are on because Edwards bloated our wage bill in his first stint which financially hamstrung us in the transfer market. We were just recovering from this mismanagement when he and Hughes did it again.

Gravenberch and Gakpo are on over half a million a week between them. A couple of seasons ago, those were Salah and Virgil figures as our premium earners following years of consistent world-class performances. We simply can't afford to have players on those numbers playing like that. What is the knock-on effect going to be on the expectation of other players?

You can talk about the semantics of through rain and shine all you want but the reality of football is getting rid of the players who aren't good enough and bringing in players who are good enough for appropriate sums of money. Always has been, always will be. This is a transfer rumours site. People are going to talk about who they think we should buy and who they think we should sell. If you want a just positive vibes environment, maybe try the comments section on the club's official YouTube channel.

Won the league that man.

29 Oct 2026 11:33:12
Grav has had half of a great in season in the 3 years he's been with us. He could be the next Viera, although he doesn't like getting stuck in, which seems to be important in this league.
His game may be best suited to Spain.

29 Oct 2026 12:15:37
The biggest issue is his mentality. He's a soft lad. His physical traits are incredible and ideally suited to the PL, but his mentality doesn't match them.

I don't believe the wages he is being reported to be on are true. However, he will still be a high earner, which will make him difficult to move on.

Barcelona, with the Dutch affinity, or a club in Turkey seems the most likely destination if he is to be moved.

I think Iraola needs to recognise that Gravs' best performances came from him playing as a 6, and that in order to get the best out of him and the partnership with Dom in particular, that he needs to drop this double pivot stuff, at least until we get a handle on the midfield. Grav and Dom simply do not have the awareness to be given the amount of freedom offered by the double pivot; there's too much responsibility that go's along with it, and they just don't have the discipline for it, not right now anyway. Dom can be weak in the tackle and poor tracking back so relying on him to do the duties of a 6 whilst expecting him to be aware enough to take on those responsabilities whenever Grav does decide to go galavanting just doesn't work. Then Grav, whilst he can be excellent at breaking lines, he has no issue bounding forward even when Dom (or Mac) and Wirtz are already high up the pitch, especially when the situation doesn't call for it, leaving us incredibly exposed.

I think Grav shouldn't be allowed beyond the centre circle for a few weeks, ground him a little, after some time on the bench. He was benched a few times prior to the City game and he was excellent in that match before being sent off. I think the immediate solution is for Iraola to drop the double pivot, delegate more specific roles, restrict some freedoms and employ a little classic man management. It could rapidly return our midfield to the form that saw us win the league. I still think we need a DM but for now we need an alternative solution.

29 Oct 2026 12:24:47
Who knows, Grav might play himself back into form or he may not. It's fine to criticize performances but to ask for players to be shipped out while the season is ongoing doesn't serve anyone at Liverpool. YNWA doesn't mean you can't criticize performances or can't ever agree with player sales. But imo our fans should treat each player as 100% part of LFC while the season is ongoing.

What happens in January or in the summer, happens in January or in the summer. Until then, they are Liverpool players and can all make a difference to our chances of success this season. Criticize their performances, but don't make them feel like they're not - or should not be - part of the squad anymore. I might rate the chances of Chiesa contributing anything significant on the pitch for the rest of the season as really low. But even then, he might still score a crucial goal. Or even if he doesn't get a single more minute on the pitch, he hopefully contributes to team morale by keeping his spirits high in the dressing room despite not playing.

Do people really forget so fast. It was only a couple of months ago Macca was completely written off. Now he's our most important midfielder, scoring vital goals. To an extent this goes for Gakpo, too.

Don't kid yourselves, most players do follow Social Media one way or another. And all the players should be encouraged to feel part of this special club for as long as they are under contract here. Unless of course, they were to do unforgiving stuff off the pitch. Then, if things don't work out and one or both sides decide it's time to part ways - you shake hands and wish each other the best and can say goodbye with an honest YNWA.

29 Oct 2026 13:01:16
When we sign a couple of MF's I can see Dom fighting it out with Florian for the No.10 position Chewy.

29 Oct 2026 13:18:30
I wouldn't drop the double pivot, of just bring in the type of players that suit the way Iraola wants to play.
If that means Gravy, Szob and Macca need to be moved on, or anyone for that matter, so be it.

29 Oct 2026 13:56:06
I'm giving all the players 30 games at least with this manager, it's too early to write anyone off ?.

29 Oct 2026 14:55:09
You literally can't play 433 in the Premier League now without a beast of a 6 (rare) and fullbacks that are technical enough to invert.

The double pivot midfields are here to stay for now.

29 Oct 2026 15:00:03
Ed's I'd love your thoughts on what seems to be for him - he was decent a few seasons ago but seems to have got to his head.

{Ed025's Note - he had a great season when you won it TSR, but since then he has regressed and for me does not deserve a place in the team mate..
