This set of players have proven that they do not have any big game mentality and crumble when the heat is on. We won last year's final with the kids. I actually believe we would have lost if the first team was fit and available.
To lose as many finals as they have is unacceptable, especially Salah’s performance in these big games totally abysmal. Rip it up and start again. Slot should get a set of players with the ginger to win trophies and see how we go from there.

Nicolbecker Glory, the irony is that we didn't lose to Newcastle because we didn't have a big game mentality, but rather we just saw it as just another League cup final ie a small game that we would just turn up and win.
As for Mo's performance. Newcastle setup to block all passing lanes to him knowing that the left side was impotent. Not sure what else he could have done.
I think a bigger question should be why we have looked flat in terms of performance/ intensity level at this stage. Something for Slot and his medical guys to figure out.

I don't think it's about not having the minerals i think slot thought by holding them back more and to be more patient that then tiredness wouldn't be a factor. He just needs a couple or 3 reinforcements to rotate more and use the likes of harvey/ chiesa and endo a bit more. I'd say it's more of a slot individual learn8ng thing than not having winners in the team.

Even though some of them have everything in the club game, one of them was named man of the match in a world cup final, one of them player of tournament at a euros, and all of them on course for a premier league title, they are not cut out mentality wise for the big time.
Especially Salah as you so rightly single out. Lazy sod.

If he wants to be Ballon D’or he needs to exhibit big game temperament. Owen, as much as I dislike him, always showed up on the big occasion. Salah, like it or not, has not.

If our striker and left winger offered a threat teams would find it much harder to double and triple team Mo. Unfortunately Diaz, Jota and Nunez offer little threat so teams are happy to concentrate on keeping Mo quiet.

St ettiene, Salah turns up almost every big game in the premier league scoring massive goals.
And his played well in lots of finals too. Just not the goal count to show for it. You think there was no pressure on that penalty in champs league final.
Look everyone has the right to a opinion and this is the place to voice it.
My opinion is that these players are mentality freaks. Everytime they are questioned, they answer. Times when they seem dead and buried, they answer. They lose finals, they push for the next one. They get a new manager, they push for everything still. You think they are going for transition, they have other ideas to go for league. They give everything. You don't win anything if you can't perform under pressure and as the old song goes "we won the lot" . Other teams spend ridiculous sums of money yet we're still there like dirt under their fingernails ruining their bloody day.
So I respectfully disagree that these players don't perform under pressure.
And as for Salah, pressure cracks when it sees Salah.

Spot on, @flidby. In addition to that, Arsenal with 9 games left in the season, is yet to reach 60 points. That's not a team that was ever in the title race. That is rather a team that has been in a Top 4 race all season. Aresenal are of NO relevance here. It's all about us, as it has always been since October.

Playing against premier teams and scoring as Mo has is not the same as playing against the very elite of the champions league maybe that is why Mo does not score as much but he has scored in a final - a champions league final.
