Do we all think frimpong at rb instead of Bradley, will allow salah more space, obviously szob has done a brilliant job there but we miss him in midfield.

Bradley was very good when he came on. Salah was awful in his decision making and delivery. There's times I watch bradley in great positions and salah rarely ever passes the ball to him. Salah needs to up his game but unfortunately he seems undropable. Maybe this will be his final season. One position shouldn't be guaranteed for anyone if there's too many poor performances but you've a big personality to deal with there.

{Ed001's Note - Bradley was awful, he changed the game because of his attacking intent but not his actual play. He kept giving the ball away and his runs constantly squeezed the space inside forcing Salah to hug the touchline. That is why we looked immediately better when Frimpong arrived, as he took the width and allowed Salah to move inside where he can hurt teams.}

Bradley awful? Harsh.

{Ed001's Note - maybe, but he certainly wasn't good. You can't keep giving the ball away and be considered to have a good game, yet somehow people are raving about him because he ran forward a lot. What did he actually achieve?}

Szob started putting in wayward passes and running around like a headless chicken in midfield. Looks much better as a right back than in midfield. At least Bradley brought some urgency to a dour stale laxidasical team. Salah wasnt really in the game before Bradley came on. We lacked speed, energy and intensity. Missing Diaz and Nunez energy and ability to run directly at the opposition. Rio did it when he came on and set up our best chance of the game.

We let 60 minutes of that Game just drift by. It was very poor.

The game wasn't great but it's the 4th game in and as ed1 has said umpteen times points over performance at this stage. Also I'd like to add that last season we didn't really blow teams away like we did under Klopp. I don't think we ever will under Slot on a consistent basis but we keep getting results and at the end of the season I'd rather have a parade to attend after a season of 1 0 wins than no parade to attend after a season of highlight reels.

He offered more going forward than Salah did all game. I'm not Bradley's biggest fan, and he has a lot to learn, but I wouldn't consider him to be awful, yesterday. Salah on the other hand.

{Ed001's Note - I don't agree, Bradley offered nothing apart from giving the ball away. People are being blinded by his effort and running, but he had little effect other than to force Salah wider. I love Bradley and think he has a big future, I was the one calling for him to be included a year before he was, but that was not a good performance from him at all.}

Szob is better in midfield than RB.

This is what's great about this site, that we can have opinions and debate. I think you're both right, Bradley did give the ball away, but that's because he was trying to force something to happen. Salah is the master of losing possession, too. He was third highest last season in losing possession, because he's shooting and taking higher risk passess high up the pitch (Mbueno was top) . Against Burnley, he made nothing.

Frimpong will only go around the outside of Salah if he's told to. A lot of this underlapping fullback stuff looks like it's instructed to me. Robbo and Kerkez were both at it.

I don’t think anyone had a amazing game in the attacking sense
Areas were too tight to get passes in behind. All we could do was pass around In the hope space became available
It didn’t and we had no space to run into.
Under immense pressure. Salah scored and put another 3 points in the bag for us, hopefully that’s pushed his confidence up and we see better from him and others
Wirtz is finding his feet in the premier league. I always give players a season regardless of price
Gakpo had a stinker. he's one dimensional play was never going to work with 10 men in front of him.
Ekitike had nowhere to go and had 10 players in front of him when wanting to shoot
Unless the crosses were pin point perfect we wasn’t going to score from them
The two that was as close as good be were missed by Konate and Chiesa.
Chiesa was the only chance I remember a forward having any space
Also Robbo had a decent chance when he came on. Could of scored.

Still early season and a little ring rust
Hopefully the sharpness returns and we bag early goals to bring teams out to try and play
Irony is, next two games are teams that will shut up shop against us

Isak Debut goal please

Yes players had bad days. we won. That’s the great thing about our great club. We keep winning

YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - you lot are really up yourselves aren,t you Gazza?, teams of lesser ability are bound to defend more against a superior side and you never stopped complaining when they done it against City now did you?, you have spent £squillions on players like Florian Worst who are supposed to be able to break down these little unworthy sides but it seems you may have paid £109m too much may i suggest, i dont think we will "shut up shop" against you and hope we have the temerity and bare faced cheek to give you a decent game my friend..

Bradley gave the ball away twice leading to Burnley counters. Better sides ie Bournemouth might have punished us.

16 Sep 2025 00:55:26
Bradley gets severely overrated because he's young and came out of the blocks when he debuted. He has a bright future, but his 1v1 defending and decisions in final third are poor. When he defends his centre of gravity isn't low enough, he's too upright and gets spun around too easily. In the final third he plays a bad pass 8 times out of 10.

@25, reading through the thread I had arrived at the same conclusion as you. The idea, for instance, that we ‘drifted’ along for the first hour doesn’t acknowledge the effort put in by Burnley.

I think expectation created by the transfer window - which absolutely nobody on this forum expected - has ramped up several notches and has re-enforced the idea of entitlement. Seems we just have to show up to win these days although of course we have won all four games so far ?) .

16 Sep 2025 13:18:50
Ed25, I thought Burnley played a blinder actually so not sure why they are getting no credit for the way they frustrated us for 94 mins. On another day, the get a point and would have deserved it all the way.

{Ed025's Note - i see why they play like that Oli i really do, but it makes for a very boring watch mate..
