Playing devil's advocate... Just for giggles.

If Chelsea offered 100m for Wirtz in the summer...

Would you take it?!

For the record, I wouldn't.

18 May 2026 14:10:02
I'd swap him for Estevao in a heartbeat.

18 May 2026 14:11:00
No chance. Guys just turned 23 years old about a week ago. In his first season for us he's got 7 goals and 10 assists, but more importantly, he's passed the eye test. When you watch him play, he oozes class and never backs away from hard graft either.

There is so much more to come from Wirtz that we'd be utterly mental to let him go after spending a year transitioning him into Premier League football.

18 May 2026 14:11:23
Not a chance. 200m, then yes.

18 May 2026 14:20:48
100% Adam, also get a coach that can play to his strengths and a team set up to play in the right way, and he will just get better and better.

18 May 2026 14:29:37
Estevao's hamstring injury might rob him of his pace from here. It's a really bad one.

18 May 2026 14:34:26
I'd probably take it for Isak.

18 May 2026 14:42:18
Estevao for Wirtz? Wow.

18 May 2026 14:51:03
Chelsea would never go for it though.

18 May 2026 15:00:37
Not in a million years, under a proper manager he's going to set the world alight.

18 May 2026 15:07:51
Send them Frimpong instead.

18 May 2026 15:20:16
I don't think Chelsea are in a position to offer that and I definitely wouldn't take it.

Need to see all our squad under a different manager/head coach.

18 May 2026 15:37:25
No chance. Under a decent manager in a proper setup he will prove how good he is. We just need Slot gone.

I think Palmer could potentially find some form again under Alonso next season in the Wirtz role though.

18 May 2026 15:48:10
Nope. The vast majority of the players we have aren't the issue. Especially not Wirtz - he's a little magician and under right management he will shine. I think he'll soon become one of the most important players we have.

18 May 2026 16:09:41
Estevao's stats aren't that great for this season.

Wirtz beats him comfortably for goals and assists, and he's not had his best season either.

18 May 2026 16:21:36
FM seriously tho, Estevao is 18 and pretty promising. That being said, no way I am letting Wirtz go to any club regardless of who we get in exchange, for Wirtz.

Like others have said, and this goes for a lot of the players who signed or who had been doing bits well before this season, you get a manager who actually knows what he is doing and knows how to get the best out of these players.

Wirtz will cook.

Remember, City wanted Wirtz first, not even Cherki. Cherki was their sloppy seconds that they thought we would get.

18 May 2026 16:30:06
While I agree that Wirtz will prove to be a better investment than Cherki, Cherki has been a very fun player to watch this year. He does the unpredictable, and more often than not does not choose the 'right' option (or the option that a coach would typically want you to take, the percentage ball).

It's nice to see a player like that in the modern game, he always backs himself to play the difficult ball or dribble the ball through tight spaces. It's also been quite remarkable to see Pep, long known as the biggest control freak in football, give him that much freedom.

18 May 2026 16:53:01
He hasn't met my expectations yet, but I think he will under a new manager.

It's not 100 percent on manager. He also needs to improve. Both need to happen.

18 May 2026 17:08:46
Good numbers in this season context. Will thrive well under good managers.

18 May 2026 17:11:04
Think Wirtz can come good meself but think Estevao is different gravy too. It's just for giggles lads.
