Sorry to disappoint the Slot Out brigade and the Carra worshippers, however reports that conversations between the hierarchy and Slot's team about him leaving at the end of the season if things don't pick up are wide of the mark.
He has been spoken too, similar to how Klopp was spoken too during his tough seasons, with discussion on resolutions and change of targets for this season, with the understanding of various circumstances.
The board have looked to relieve some of the stress on Slot, Hughes and Edwards, stating that they have faith and belief in them. They are not preparing to pull the trigger on any, without reasonable time given to put things right. They backed them in the summer and continue to do so.
05 Jan 2026 14:04:53
Carra has a hell of a resume mate.
You've got a bit of time to put in before disregarding what he's said.
Thanks for your information however.
05 Jan 2026 14:07:25
If that's true we are in the mire.
05 Jan 2026 14:08:37
Carra worshippers? Just wondering, what have you suggested on here that has been correct or come to fruition? I follow what's being mentioned quite carefully and maybe if you'd looked at what carra has said over the summer, you'd see he was correct…Might be worth a gander then maybe think about what you've posted….
Just saying
Cheers
Drogie.
05 Jan 2026 14:35:47
If Slot stays for 3 seasons, our best players will leave.
05 Jan 2026 14:28:22
Of course, they also understand this is not his fault.
This is the fans fault.
If people think that the "slot out" calls are only because of results, and can't see the other major and more concerning problems, like, man-management, youth development, favoritism, stubbornness, inability the take responsibility, attitude.
Those fans who ignore everything and back him up just because other calls him out just to perceive themself as the "superior" fans.
"But he won us the league" - so it doesn't matter what he does next, he could relegate us, but he won us the league! Only judge by past actions and not future and present performance! I don't remember fans crying for dudek to remain In goal and for simicer to remain and become key player after Istanbul.
05 Jan 2026 14:30:09
So are they going to invest in the squad's glaring deficiencies in January, or are they content to scrape 4th and see supposed targets like Semenyo and Guehi go elsewhere. Latter also linked with City now apparently.
05 Jan 2026 14:53:42
Great news Jonny, thanks for confirming. Starting with Burnley, looking forward to Arne moving us from being hard to beat and controlling games, to penetrating 11 man defences. Still surprised that Fulham sat back in a defensive 5 yesterday with all men behind the ball and no coincidence that Vrig and Ibou have by far the highest ariel duels won, as teams just play the long ball against us (Jurgen's teams would also have struggled with this as we don't get the chance to press as much) .
Think Arne would have learnt his lesson about being too open on the counter when breaking teams down, but with Frimpong now available on the right wing to get round teams, Wirtz up to speed, Cody back on form, and Dom alongside Grav in his preferred deep position, expecting better things from us in the 2nd half of the season.
Oh, and we could win the CL having beaten Arse, Real and Inter without conceding - similar to our 80-81 and 04-05 transitional league seasons.
05 Jan 2026 15:07:47
So both Carra and Thefields have both said that he's off the end of the season if the higher-ups choice candidate is available, yet you say that's a load of tosh? Interesting.
The football and performances are crap, the tactics and subs are crap, and the results are crap. Not to mention the fact that it's clear that the players are making noises (publicly) and most of the fans on here want him gone. That's a whole series of factors for the board to ignore. He's gone mate unless he pulls a miracle out the hat before the end of the season. I would put money on it.
05 Jan 2026 15:29:18
Jonny let's hope you're wrong because we have been awful for nearly 12 months and are getting no better. The people paying big money to watch deserve far better entertainment. It would be different if we were getting results but we aren't.
05 Jan 2026 15:40:34
Thanks for the info.
Carra. has been doing a sterling job reporting and his updates have proven to be true, particularly during the summer transfers when we were craving for information.
Carra has my backing, and I will I respect anybody who can share these useful insights out of kindness as i simply don't have the network. Shout out also to The Fields and Eds 001 and 025. Peace!
05 Jan 2026 15:42:03
Come on mate, saying Carra worshippers just causes unnecessary conflict.
05 Jan 2026 15:50:31
Ha, the ignorance is real. Carra worshippers? There's a reason why people look to him for info. Who are you again?
Nonsense made up post.
05 Jan 2026 15:53:28
I am grateful for what Carra, TheFields and others contribute and very often they are correct, but not always.
I did actually put three days before the official final bids for Guehi and Isak were made, that these would happen and at the time Carra had stated that we were not returning for Isak at the time.
I am not here to discourage people from others, however someone I am close with has stated that if anything the board have looked to restore calm amongst the coaching staff and directors, following the release of Briggs. Which was agreed with by all prior to his dismissal.
05 Jan 2026 16:09:40
Salah spoke out publicly last month, Mac Allister spoke out publicly last week, Virgil called a meeting with the players and excluded the management team back in (I think) November etc. The dressing room is gone. His position is untenable. I am starting to lose faith in the people above Slot, for the simple fact he hasn't been sacked already.
This football is diabolical. For all this unbeaten run nonsense that is being peddled, we've beat West Ham away (18th), beat Wolves at home (20th), beat Brighton at home (10th) and beat Spurs away (13th) . In that same run we've drawn with Sunderland at home (8th), drawn with Leeds home and away (16th) and drawn with Fulham away (11th) . 4 wins and 4 draws is still not good enough when you've only faced teams you should be beating but still failed to do so 50% of the time, and not actually won against a team above mid-table since we beat Villa on the 1st of November last year.
05 Jan 2026 16:14:46
So, clearly you are a slot supporter, and that is your choice.
For me, I haven't seen a manager as bad for us sine Brenda. Slot offers crap, slow, football. He doesn't seem to understand the need for pace, how physical the Premier league is and makes every excuse under the sun when we don't win to deflect away from himself. It is clear to see the players have no faith in him, and from a group of players that were devoted and would run through walls for Klopp, they wouldn't run into bubble wrap for Slot. That tells me everything I want and need to know.
Edward and Hughes at thia time are going to back him: Why, because they chose him. Tells a big person to admit thier mistakes and the time will. come where to save their own skins he will be thrown under that bus.
So, the comment about Carra worshippers is a bit far of the mark and that comment alone wrecks of jealousy for what ever reason.
05 Jan 2026 16:17:16
Not sure what OP means by Carra worshippers but I must say he's got to the point whereby he is outrightly nasty about players and managers and is constantly looking to make headlines.
What he said about Kerkez and Amorim yesterday was ridiculous and classless.
05 Jan 2026 16:44:53
Jonny, looks as tho the 5 or so posters that didn't vote "slot out" have given you a thumbs up.
05 Jan 2026 16:46:22
Nah this is a load of rubbish.
In Carra we trust.
05 Jan 2026 16:46:57
Another ITK coming out the woodwork….
05 Jan 2026 17:03:16
Apologies Ernest, it was tongue in cheek. It wasn't meant to cause offence.
I did reply, but once again it seems to not have been added for some reason.
I did reply to an earlier comment stating that I have the utmost respect for Carra and TheFields, however what they have been told and passed on is slightly incorrect from what I have been told.
They have not said anything to Slot that they will get rid of him at the end of the season if results do not improve. And I am actually surprised people buy that!? These guys aren't going to demotivate a manager during a season.
Also I did advise about 3 days before the official bids were made for both Guehi and Isak that final bids were being prepared. At that time Carra had actually stated that we would not be going back in for either.
I am not saying my information is better than others, just that what I have been told is slightly different and the board have given Edwards, Hughes and Slot the backing. They also all agreed that Briggs would need to be moved on due to the deficiencies in set-pieces. They have taken an understanding of circumstances, including injuries, Jota and other elements into account.
Will see what happens come May, but from what I hear I am expecting Slot to still be in his seat.
05 Jan 2026 17:03:32
1st November last year, its the 5th of January??. See we all put spins on things.
05 Jan 2026 17:12:39
*Jamie Carragher that is!
I just realised the OP might have been talking to our member here, Carra.
05 Jan 2026 17:17:07
We could be looking at a 17 point gap between us and Arsenal come thursday night. In a linear world, that will be over 30 come the end of May.
I seem to recall finishing 30 points off the pace in years gone by was unacceptable. We would expect that gap to narrow in following seasons as new players, managers, etc. were given time to adapt and implement their ideas.
Ok, we won the league last year so the bar for this season was set high. I could understand if we were a bit behind City and Arsenal with some teething issues if there were clear signs of improvement after adjusting to so many new players coming in. That is just not happening at this point and not looking likely to.
This manager has exhausted the definition of insanity on many occasions now. He shows no signs of backing down from a formula that hasn't worked up to now and won't work the rest of the time he's at the club.
Jonny, for the (very recent) record, the "Slot Out brigade" are over 90% of readers/ posters on here.
05 Jan 2026 17:30:01
I miss Ed 02, when he left his (RIP) all of a sudden a million 'ITK's' came out of the woods.
It's a rumours site so post your rumour. I don't get this weird 'ITK' beef some people are trying to start.
Carra is the one person who is consistently on point.
05 Jan 2026 17:39:52
I thought we weren't that interested in points and that we just wanted to see good football?
05 Jan 2026 17:40:55
Got to admit I serve at the church of carra
In carra we trust.
05 Jan 2026 17:41:24
Sailor Jerry that's exactly what I said yesterday. It's fun to read but we can only judge the ITKs by their last bit of info and most were correct re Isak. I guess the summer will be the litmus test for all!
05 Jan 2026 17:46:19
As I have already said, it was meant to be tongue in cheek. No disrespect meant to Carra as I often double check what he writes with my own source and 90% he is point.
This is one of those times where it is not on point and some details have been missed out.
Not pushing my own views or agendas, I appreciate there are fans who don't rate Slot. I am all for giving someone time, so I was pleased to hear that the board are doing so and not issuing him with warnings.
05 Jan 2026 17:47:03
Jonny. Both myself and Carra have said many times, things change and can do quickly. Especially in the areas we work and no, I don't know Carra ?.
That being said, I don't see how what you have said is much different to what has been said by either of us in relation to Slot.
05 Jan 2026 17:54:28
Can someone point me in the direction of the ed002 statue to worship. And if carra keeps up his record he can have one too.
05 Jan 2026 17:58:26
WDW, one or the other would be nice. Ideally both.
05 Jan 2026 18:10:32
Cara said slot had been told he was out the door as soon as they identified replacement. That's a massive difference isn't it.
05 Jan 2026 18:27:44
Jesus that 14 point went to 30 awfully quick. What if it goesxback down to 10??.
05 Jan 2026 18:29:06
I absolutely hate the slow, lethargic sideways passing and lack of creativity we are witnessing under slot recently (probably longer) BUT I am really concerned how we would perform under a different manager. I guess time will tell when he inevitably leaves in the Summer but from my many years of watching football, the grass isn't always greener!
05 Jan 2026 19:00:32
Sorry Jonny I think you're just talking nonsense. Another ITK looking for attention. Sad times.
05 Jan 2026 19:12:11
Hard to beat ? we couldn't beat a pre beaten egg. I reckon the OP is actually Slot.
05 Jan 2026 19:22:55
FM, entirely possible, extremely unlikely. Arsenal are streets ahead of us. Better squad depth and better balance within the squad.
05 Jan 2026 19:31:14
SM, the thought had actually crossed my mind him or RH. ?.
05 Jan 2026 19:32:41
"Jesus that 14 point went to 30 awfully quick. What if it goesxback down to 10?"
Yes, and what if monkeys fly out of my butt, ScarJo shows on my doorstep pledging eternal love and all scientists in the globe unanimously declare liquor actually prolongs life?
Or, what if I just stop taking LSD at work and rejoin the real world.
05 Jan 2026 19:16:17
Amongst the controversy of conflicting claims, I believe it's important to point at that our ITK's don't actually have direct contact with the board or the manager, so really, nobody knows for a fact what's been said. That's a given. Even if somebody on here was secretly a Liverpool player, they still wouldn't know. Players do not have regular interaction with the board or the hierarchy, they are not privy to discussions that go on between the likes of board members, sporting director and managers. These kinds of conversations are extraordinarily private, and any word on what might have happened in such meetings is always speculative to some degree. Outside of panting a camera in the boardrooms, there's really no way to know exactly what's been said. Chinese whispers create numerous interpretations in a matter of minutes.
I'm not nocking anybody, but I've seen plenty of correct, partially correct and incorrect ITK claims over the years, and plenty of flip-flopping too. I'm no spring chicken either, I've been here since the site began. So I take every rumour with a pinch of salt and a shovel-full of common sense.
What Carra and The Fields have been saying is a bit too contradictory for me. Forgive me if I have this wrong but, in summary what I've seen is;
Slot's been told he's gone at the end of the season, but there will be an end of season review to determine his fate.
Somebody else will be brought in, but only if the club's preferred replacement is available.
These are double bind statements, they cover both sides of the coin. You might as well tell me there'll be weather tomorrow. No offence intended, all info is appreciated, but there's no solid claim made in these types of statements.
Do you really think the club is going to tell Slot he's sacked, in the middle of our worst run of form, and expect him to improve things over the following 6 months knowing he's going out the door?! That's some motivation right there. makes about as much sense as punching your own face. Literally could't think of a worse way to try and get the best out of your manager.
Things that make sense: Slot has been spoken to and major concerns have been raised including the possibility of replacement if things continue. The club has a shortlist of managers they would prefer to replace him if things go awry. The club has a contingency plan (preferred interim) in preparation for the worst case scenario.
Things that make absolutely no sense: Telling a manager that he's fired come 6 months time and expecting him to turn things around. Telling a manager he's fired at the end of the season when his preferred replacement isn't even available. Firing your manager and letting him finish the last 6 months of the season off the back of the idea that his preferred replacement will get sacked AND accept our offer, even though he already snubbed us once before.
I've been Slot out all season, but I'm not stupid, and neither is the club, they're not making rash decisions here. Bar another shocking run of form, Slot will have the rest of the season to pull his socks up, IF he doesn't, the club will seek alternatives, but they will ONLY replace him with someone they deem suitable. Slot has serious credit in the bank and the club are not wiling to trade that in too easily.
05 Jan 2026 20:17:19
I'd love to know who the ITK's are. Can't we have a big reveal. For all we know Xabi Alonso could be lurking on here to try and hasten Arne's departure, and stir up the brigade! It could be a double bluff, Carra could be the man himself.
05 Jan 2026 20:44:25
Not usually one to get involved in silly spats but I'm calling bull here. (mainly the bit about Carra saying we weren't going back for Isak)
He made clear that we would get him and were "one giant leap" closer to getting him (a clue as Newcastle were in the process of signing his replacement in Woltermade) even the day before deadline day he still expected it to be done so I'm afraid I'll continue to back what he says safe in the knowledge that things can and do change now and again.
Even the late ED002 said the same.
Still keep posting though. Always happy to hear opposing views, but, on Isak, he was bang on.
05 Jan 2026 22:12:16
Grateful to the rumour posters, it's all rumour guys.
Personal opinion, the board don't make decisions in the season unless a real crisis.
This is not a real crisis, the league position is tolerable, the style of football is not something the board care about.
So Slot is neither "on his way out" or "definitely safe". A decision will be made, either way, based on a full evaluation of football operations at the end of the season.
These are business people, they will do things calmly and sensibly. It will be largely void of emotion.
He may go, he may stay, but it won't be based on the availability of another preferred manager, it will be based on a full evaluation.
This is how you avoid the Chelsea/ Man U current debacle that plays out several times a season.
06 Jan 2026 08:06:34
I have taken a screenshot of your little snide comment. Things have a funny way of coming back to bite you on the behind.
