Seems to be a lot of rumours doing the rounds that we're interested in Andre Trindade of Wolves, at around £26m. I know he's in a very poor Wolves team right now, but Wijnaldum and Robbo weren't bad signings from struggling clubs!
It's certainly plausible as we were obviously very keen on him a couple of years ago when he was still playing in Brazil. Wolves will know relegation is more or less certain by now and may be open to doing a deal to at least help them to financially prepare for the loss of revenue.
I'm not sure if he has the ability to take such a huge step up, but he is the profile of midfielder we're crying out for (a tough tackling DM who has solid ball retention skills). If he were to be signed, the big question is would Slot use him as he typically doesn't use a DM? I think Andre is a better partner stylistically for Gravenberch than Mac Allister is though. He's just more mobile and more disciplined.

I like him when I see him, but I do still appreciate the magnitude of the step up. I'd definitely take him as an Endo replacement if it meant Slot might actually use a DM in some games.

We tried to sign him in 2023 but Fluminense wouldn't sell him until they were out of the Copa Libertadores. We then took our bat and ball home.

He is a very good player. Not sure why we aren't looking at his team mate João gomes instead though, as good as Andre is gomes is twice the player I think.

Would rather have Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson Come in to replace Endo and and Mac Allister. That would give us better depth and both pushing to start and think both could play together with Wirtz in front of them.

Wharton and Anderson would cost around the same or more combined than Wirtz and Isak. It would also mean selling one of Gravenberch and Szoboszlai, and the other getting radically reduced game time.

Personally rather we go for Noah Sadiki at Sunderland, looks quality that lad. But Trindade could be another bit of smart business.

Genuine question. What do people see in Bastoni? I've watched him (or rather watched Inter) four times this season and whilst he seems to have pace his 'game vision' of what's going on doesn't seem to be the best. His temperament seems a bit dodgy too - he gets 'rattled' (do youngsters use that word these days? ) quite easily.
