It's not all down to his agents.
It's payments, difficult getting into finances in football because they're messy, it's not a case of a bank transfer.

Are you guys excited for Joao Gomes? I'm having a really hard time trying to understand how he moves the needle for us at all.
I've known him since he played in Brazil, and for me he just screams squad player/another body. He wasn't even the "6" at relegated Wolves, of course, they had to tackle and defend more there, but I don't see how he's an upgrade on what we already have, and for a squad player, I'd much rather see what the likes of Trey and McConnell can bring.

Indeed, Robbo. Deals like this are very complicated to complete, and there is a lot of posturing and fake news going on, as well.
Like I always say, let the process play out, and no need to start jumping into conclusions with everything you read.
Also, I find berating the player for not doing nor conducting himself allegedly in the way some fans want, a bit petty, OTT and dishonest.

If we're being honest, they're both pressing machines and a perfect fit for Iraola's system. A double pivot of Gomes and Kone would give the back line the protection it needs while allowing Wirtz and the rest of the attacking players to play with far more freedom.

Gomes and Kone to replace Jones and Alexis would be fantastic.

What has Endo done for the club? Jeez, some people have short memories. Worked his socks off, been the ultimate professional both on and off the field. Played a big part in our success until Slot decided that our defence didn't need someone to cover them.
Even then, didn't bitch and complain, but knuckled down and continued to work hard. Purchased for a low price and has easily paid it back. Won't ever be remembered as a top50 player, but definitely should be remembered as someone who contributed to the club's success.

Thanks, Robbo. Hope Gomes is done. In this market he's less than half the cost. Good quality. Already settled and proven to this league. Would be a great signing. Not sure on Kone? Is he good? Not interested in WC fever, is he good enough?
From the negative I've read here around Diomande and his agents, I hope you're wrong.
Rather walk away. Too much £. Already a hassle before he's with us. There will be contracts to negotiate down the line. Head turned by PSG with 1-2 yrs left. Or Madrid. The fathers. The agency. Not from what impression I've built up.

Alisson, Endo was top class in his season under Klopp. Never a first choice, but was steady as hell when called upon. Also thought he was our MOM in the cup final, when he played through extra time with a broken limb.
Rarely appeared under Slot, but he was good value for the season he gave us.

AlissonLFC is a classic example of how we demand loyalty from our players while giving them none in return. Endo remained on the pitch while being quite seriously injured, so that we wouldn't go a man down while defending a corner. That injury put his World Cup hopes at risk, and it did ultimately rule him out of it.
What did he give for LFC? He sacrificed his last World Cup appearance just to defend a corner for us. If you can't appreciate that, then I have nothing else to say.

AlissonLFC, Livramento is a good player but we don't need a 3rd injury-prone RB, would be an expensive and bad signing.
Vikytaum, I think Gomes would be an upgrade on Jones and Macca. We need more steel and workhorses in our midfield. Dom, Wirtz and Grav can provide whatever Macca and Jones offer.
We now need a different type of mid to add what we don't currently have: steel, tackles, hard work. Kone and Gomes are good shouts to add those attributes in my opinion.
I'd personally be happy with Gomes and Kone, especially since they would be reasonably priced.

Endo has been a good professional but he definitely didn't play a big part in Slot's success.
He played 170 mins in the league the season we won it and 90 mins of that was after the league was won.
Of course he played a part. All the squad did. He just didn't play a big part.

But my personal opinion is that I really hope you are wrong about Diomande. There are way too many red flags for me.
I really hope the club mgmt turns their heads in other directions.
My favourite type of players has always been guys like Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota. But, unfortunately, players like them don't grow in trees...
