Hey Ed2, read Liverpool are interested in Talles Magno, 17 year old Brazilian I had never heard of. Any real interest or just click bait? Being that age I'm sure getting a work permit would be quite difficult.
{Ed002's Note - Talles Magno (S/W) Vasco de Gama kiddie who has been subject to discussions with Lyon's Sporting Director Juninho and Real Madrid who want him to join and pair up with Reinier Jesus and Rodrygo to ease the transition. Lazio and Roma enquired after a price and were quoted €65M but it went no further than that and realistically it would need to be less than half that. Benfica, Manchester City, Braga, Liverpool, Juventus, Chelsea and Bayern Munich were impressed with him enough at the U17 World Cup to continue to watch him at club level. I would suggest the chances of him moving to Europe would be influenced by compatriots at Real Madrid or the lure of Juninho at OL. Benfica have offered the best opportunity to get through in to the first team. I cannot assess the chances of a move to any of the other sides.}

Thanks ed.
{Ed002's Note - I would note that players cannot move from Brazil until they are 18.}
2.) 17 May 2020 11:01:14
Aren't Vasco de Gama really struggling financially, Ed002? I read a couple of days ago that this could make them accept a much lower offer, but I guess if there's plenty of interest, they may not need to.
{Ed002's Note - Yes, Brazilian sides are struggling and as I said in the reply, realistically the price will be considerably lower than they have been asking.}
3.) 17 May 2020 18:35:54
Would we ever consider signing young Brazilians given the work permit issues?
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't want another Allan situation obviously, so they need to be careful. The issue of being Home Grown becomes an issue at 21 in England as well - and Liverpool need to start managing that better - particularly as efforts will be made again to change the ratio.}
4.) 18 May 2020 15:00:48
Thanks for the info Ed, really interesting. I can see what you're saying with regards to Allan, however would this issue not be eased by the prospective transfer fee? Also would our strong Brazilian contingent (albeit significantly older) make Liverpool an attractive destination?
{Ed002's Note - He is a child who would have to suffer significant cultural changes, language issues - it would not be a good move for him but we will see. I also don't see that Liverpool would want to tie up significant money in a player who cannot move before he is 18 and would be far from the first team.}

Just came up with this song lads and I feel it gives a bit of recognition to No. 1 Alisson (needs a song anyway) And the other 2 don't get enough credit. (In my eyes at least) . Only based on 1 game, so don't be so critical. Lol
To the tune of Rod Stewart: 'It's a heartache'
Alisson Becker,
Knocks it up up to Nunez,
Deflects off a defender,
It falls to Harvery Elliott ???.
1.) 06 Mar 2025 07:18:13
Only it didn't deflect off a defender. Nunez was superb in winning the header, winning the second ball and laying it on a plate for Harvey's fine finish!
3rd line needs editing imo.

Don't give up the day job.
{Ed025's Note - Tim Rice must be quaking in his boots.. :)
3.) 06 Mar 2025 08:49:42
??? brilliant Robbo, but not quite as good as the lad from cork doing the "salah, oh mane mane" song in his bedroom ????.
4.) 06 Mar 2025 09:11:21
JawRed, not deflection there, mate. Darwin won the first, second and even the 3rd ball if it existed. Just a small correction.
5.) 06 Mar 2025 09:14:16
@Jaw is spot on. Nunez won the ball against the defender and played it perfectly into Elliots path. That one passage of play was more than Diaz, Jota and Salah had managed in the whole game. Credit where credit is due.

How wrong were us Liverpool fans to doubt that football began in 92?. It did. A great year it was too, 1892!

Love it, man.

Robbo has more than made up for the contribution of coin that has been spent on him by the club over the years. £8m for a lb of his quality was a steal at the time and still is to this day. Especially when you consider the money that Citeh were paying for full backs at that time, only to replace said full back with another £50m full back the next summer.
Citeh signed Benjamin Mendy in the same transfer window, which this site had many a wet dream over and then lost their collective crap over when we ended up with Robbo. Sadly, we all know how that faired out.

I rate Nunez highly, the lad just needs a bit of luck. Sometimes he is frustrating but nobody can fault his effort and I think our attack looks so much more dangerous when he's playing. I do think he lacks concentration at times though but there's a player in there trying to get out and I hope that player comes out this season.

We'll need to keep hold of Nat Phillips for sure then.

They're reporting that we've started negotiating with Feyenoord.

If true, maybe it's just protecting Matip's value. Decent squad player, very experienced and quality on the ball. If the replacement we want isn't available in the summer, we can always wait like we did for Bellingham. Lol!
Matip and Thiago may have their injury issues but, they can still offer something as squad players, experience for 1 and aparently they're both very liked within the squad, which is also very good for new players coming into the squad. We, as fans only ever think of playing time but, if the coaching staff and club think they deserve a new contract for whatever reason, I'm with them.
Thiago's football brain alone is worth a contract I believe, having him around young players is invaluable, both on and off the pitch.

But. Ed, we're Liverpool fans here mate. You should know by now, we know best. #bestfansintheworld.
{Ed025's Note - you are not even the best fans on Merseyside Robbo but maybe that conversation is for another time mate, i dont want to rain on your parade so enjoy your days in the sun because Everton will be after your crown very shortly my friend.. :)

Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes these 2 comments. Comedy gold lads. Weĺl played.

Loved his finish tonight.

Signing VVD and Salah didn't guarentee anything Mr Bond, it strengthened the squad but, both were still a gamble. There was question marks over Salah when we signed him as he had already 'flopped' at Chelsea. VVD was Premiership proven when we signed him for a world record fee for a defender at the time but, he could have picked up an ACL injury on his debut and been out for a long time with no guarentee of getting back to what he was. His debut was against Everton too which a few years later, he did get that injury. Nothing is guarenteed in football unfortunately mate.

Interesting that 2 and 3 are the same answer. Never seen him play but must be some player if Ed rates him so highly. Obviously won't be coming to Liverpool if Ed recommends him then.
