A thought occurred:
Salah not geetting younger but an amazing finisher/ assist maker
Bradley right back
JF - right wing
Ed001/ others - see this scenaeio in Slots reckoning? ?.
{Ed001's Note - and what would happen with the best right winger in the game this season? Why would you move him?}
18 May 2025 13:40:45
You are of course right.
Only thinking was "cotton wool" age wise.
18 May 2025 14:02:27
I think Frimpong and Bradley will be used to enhance Salah rather than Replace.
18 May 2025 15:19:39
Sorry to be clear, my scenario was Salah playing striker (more forward)

It certainly is a possibility for minor games against weaker teams where MO can have a rest on the subs bench for the whole minor game, and MO only comes on if needed in that minor game, can certainly also be used to substitute MO from a game we are winning handsomely.
But long term MO replacement one has serious doubts, as World Class players must be replaced by World Class players.
A cute tactic that could be used secretively for next season, is Arne when Frimpong is playing his side of the field could give his instructions to Frimpong in Dutch, so the opposing players and his bench can't interpret what's being said, VVD and Gakpo also could use this to our advantage for set-pieces, game tactics i. e. Double Dutch!
"Allo-Allo" the British Spy sitcom springs to mind! "Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once"
Final Party mood at Goodison today, so let's give them the old LFC chestnut:
Two boyhood Everton Welsh lads who had never been to see Everton play at Goodison Park, both travelled up one Saturday morning from the Rhondda Valley, they managed to find their way to nearby County Road, but were totally lost so they spotted a Policeman and said " could you tell us how to get to Goodison Park", the policeman said "certainly, go up this Street and when you reach the end, turn left, you will then see two Queues, "Don't get in the Big Queue, that's the one for the Chippy"

I get frimpong but then I don't. 40 million is it? For a player who could be back up to bradley. If bradley stats fit which looks likely with continuous games, he's a top player. Frimpongs good going forward but he can't get in the same team as bradley and salah. Unless Bradley's playing second fiddle to him which would be bizzare. The lad deserves his run of games like trent got.
18 May 2025 19:01:41
It’s actually 29mil Batman. We have two quality players competing for a starting place, how is that not a good thing?
18 May 2025 19:06:42
Trent has played 43 times this season Bradley 27, there is a need for 2 players in that position wether it be tactical tweaks or rotation, both are young and play the game at 100mph. Not anywhere is £40 million stated.
18 May 2025 19:10:17
Bradley needs to be managed, he’s had some medium term injuries. Whilst I’m not worried about that, he shouldn’t be expected to put in 65 games a season without suffering from injuries or drop in intensity.
They will share the load. They will both see some action as subs.
18 May 2025 18:45:33
Batman, you complain on here that we don't sign players and now that we do, you still complain cos you don't get the signing. So which is it going to be? Frimpong is a signing Slot clearly wanted and thinks he needs. How he will fit in is his job and pretty sure, he and the scouts already has an idea of the ways to use him. So relax and see what happens cos I too, am interested in seeing how this pans out.
Oh and sorry, Bradley is not a top player cos he hasn't even played 70 games for LFC yet so not enuff evidence and moreover, he is still developing as a player physically and in all other ways. IMO, Bradley will not be playing second fiddle to Frimpong just as Diaz and Gakpo do not play second or first fiddle to each other or vice-versa.
At the end of the day, this is the top level and this is big boy football where competition for places is the order of the day. Gakpo and Diaz got no issues with that. So if Bradley can't deal with that cos this signing could hurt his feelings then yeah, he will be playing second fiddle to Frimpong, for sure.
18 May 2025 18:52:16
Bradley is going to be the best rb we’ve had since Phil neal.
{Ed001's Note - have you forgotten Rob Jones?}
18 May 2025 19:35:35
He wouldn’t create anything from Central. Salah would score, but he creates too much to move him.
Especially after losing Trent.
18 May 2025 19:59:56
Rob jones, such a shame he suffered so bad with injuries. Would have played 100 games for England.

Why is everyone suggesting play Salah as a striker? Absolute idiocy moving the best rw in the world. madness.
18 May 2025 20:37:26
Honourable shout to Stevie Finnan as well Ed.
{Ed001's Note - good shout.}
18 May 2025 20:59:11
I loved Finnan as a kid, 7/ 10 every week and his delivery was consistent too. He never seemed to get any recognition I felt!
18 May 2025 22:11:07
Finnan was excellent.
Did Stevie Nicol play at right back?
18 May 2025 22:17:58
Nicol did indeed play a lot of games as right back.
Also honourable mention to Marcus Babbel.
18 May 2025 22:40:04
Complaining? No. I like seeing young players getting a real chance and money spent wisely. I'm not against the frinpong move but I hope the purse strings don't tighten up when we need to prioritise other positions.
18 May 2025 22:40:16
Marcus babbel one of my all time favourites. I stand by my original post even though there has been some great players since neal.
18 May 2025 23:45:36
Rob Jones pockets Ryan Giggs on his debut at Old Trafford having only just joined from Crewe. He was a brilliant right back.
19 May 2025 01:30:37
Shame about his injuries Viktor, I knew a girl he was dating at the time.
19 May 2025 09:22:36
Rob Jones had so much potential. Great player that he was, he was robbed (as were us fans) of his best years and full potential. @Vik, rightly, say, on his debut he had a prime Giggs in his pocket.
19 May 2025 22:17:54
I absolutely hate the idea of the highest paid player in the history of our club being wrapped in cotton wool.
19 May 2025 23:13:34
Batman - given your logic, it sounds like your approach would have been to do nothing and rely on Quansah and Gomez?
or otherwise we spend something less than $35-40mil on either a youngster who is clearly developmental to sit behind Bradley or an experienced player who would be happy to sit behind Bradley. is that what you're saying?
for me, at that price, Frimpong is an absolute steal. he is flexible, a champion, homegrown, very good talent. You get that guy in and figure out the rest later.
