I read somewhere early this morning that Liverpool could look at a loan to buy option on Jhon Duran from a Saudi team, he apparently wants out of Arabia. He was a great player at Villa but I recall some attitude issues? What would the fans and Ed001 think of that move, initial season long loan with an option to buy if things went well?
I personally see some sense in this, he would be a fantastic Jota replacement.
{Ed001's Note - horrible. His attitude stank at Villa.}

Great player. Attitudes can be changed if he's surrounded by good, strong influences. Could go the other way, however, and he poisons the dressing room (not literally)

Hard no from me, big time Charlie.

No way. I'd rather have Gordon who I've stated isn't good enough. You need the right attitudes in and around the squad. One bad egg is a stinker. I never wanted Ivan toney because of his attitude and how he behave towards a club that stood by him.

Never trust anyone who can’t spell there own name properly.

Please no. If people think Jota's approach play is bad, how could people think Duran would be a good replacement? He only thinks of scoring for himself, it's almost like he was never trained to play with team mates.

Think I've posted about this before. Sometimes accusations of 'poor attitude' are hyperbole however with Duran that was not the case.
I had an interesting conversation with one of Villa's kitmen, who lives in my local town, about John Duran and how he was. He was described to me as a cocky, egotistical child on super wages. A pain during training and horrifically arrogant. Supposedly not very well liked by the senior players at Aston Villa.
Definitely not the sort of player you'd want at your club.

I agree Batman, especially after Suarez - can't be going down them routes again.

In this day and age it’s not about goals scored, assists and chances created for a forward.
It’s all about the chaos stats. How do we do find out how much chaos a player creates?
13 Jun 2025 16:24:21
Nope, not for me.

@jk what you’re looking for is the Lyapunov exponent. You really had to make me google it.

If we could sign someone with Suarez skills but the same attitude would it be a hard no Salah. Not easy to answer as the disruptive attitude is not welcome, the goals and skill for a few seasons would be.

It’s a simple one for me, sillu monkey - I don’t care how talented a player is. If they’ve got an attitude like that, I wouldn’t want them anywhere near the club. I’d take someone with half the ability but twice the commitment any day - someone who puts the club before themselves.

I don't think Dhuran is Hungry Like the Wolf, he's just one of The Wild Boys, looking for Fame. I just don't think he is that Serious about his football and sooner rather than later he will Come Undone.
We should go with a striker who is firmly grounded on Planet Earth, will not be spending time at any Late Bar, ideally is Faster Than Light, won't get distracted by Girls on Film, have The Reflex (es) to play at the highest level, and has the perfect View to a Kill when in front of goal.

Can't disagree or argue a different point TBH Salah. Commitment and positive attitude is a must. Or as close as we can get with the modern game.

The right player at the right price .? Personally, I don’t think so.

It seems like his reputation is No-no-notorious.

Very good, again, Rigsby. You must lurk on here waiting for some 1980s pop reference. I know I do!
