Curtis. Another great interview. I just think this lad is a leader. A fancy winger, who has knuckled down to being a steady midfielder. I know some fans say he sticks on the ball a bit too long - but in my view he always seems to be the guy trying to make things happen.

He needs to stay free of injuries, and get a run of starts. He and Szob are serious engines.

{Ed025's Note - hmmmm..

19 Dec 2025 23:15:58
He’s got an engine but I’m still not convinced. A couple of good performances recently doesn’t shroud years of average performances. Sounds a bit harsh, as I believe he has ability, but he does hold onto the ball too long, he doesn’t score enough nor create enough for me.

As for being a leader, he needs to lead on the pitch as well as off it. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Can’t agree.

Spot on Monster.

I may be being a little bias when I say this, he is and always was the Scouser in our team. Hardworking and humble, he will be the first to admit he's had a bad game and not scoring or assiting enough. He's not the best or worst player at the club and would probably be 1st choice for a lot of other prem sides. The fact he's had to change position and learn it on the job to a good standard, with a lot more to come. He loves playing with Wirtz and by all accounts the feeling is mutual, plus both Klopp and Slot rate him highly. Tells me more than someone moaning about him not being good enough.

I am not too fussed about what people on here say because the players almost unanimously say that Jones is the most technically accomplished player in the squad.

That speaks volumes to me.

He needs to stay clear of injury for the rest of the season and then we can reconvene and discuss.

19 Dec 2025 23:12:15
I do think you need to soften your stance on Curtis Ed. We know you’ve nailed your colours to the mast and you want to believe you’re right but the lad has done well when called upon.

He’s no world beater but he deserves credit for the improvements he’s made and his sheer determination to succeed.

He’s a lot better than you make out.

{Ed025's Note - i have actually praised him in the last few weeks Sean, if he plays well then i will say so...but if hes terrible i will tell you that as well mate, i do the same with all players even if they play for my club..

20 Dec 2025 00:41:55
Fully agree Monster. The guy has stepped up when the club needed him most, like only a true supporter could have.

Ed, I predict you will eventually eat your words about Curtis ?.

{Ed025's Note - that could happen i suppose FORNAX, but like replacing self close hinges on base cabinets...its not very likely mate.. :)

20 Dec 2025 02:08:44
As the saying goes, you’re only as good as your last game, and in his last game Jones was excellent.

20 Dec 2025 03:23:26
All players develop, progress, and mature at different rates and peak at different ages .
Let's hope now is his time!

20 Dec 2025 05:19:54
Jones is a great example of a local player who gets the over criticism for not being the prime version of himself at 19. Then that stays with him forever.

20 Dec 2025 07:06:49
There certain times in every season where I feel jones is just about to step up into a really top class player and it just seems to not happen for whatever reason. I remember he was outstanding against Chelsea last season at home, nullified palmer (who on fire at time) scored the winner and I think earned the pen for our 1st goal.

I thought here we go he's about to turn into the player I hoped he would be but he just seemed to fall back again.
Touch wood he seems to be over his injuries now and continues the way he's playing, he's brought badly needed energy into team last few games and unlucky not to score couple of times.

20 Dec 2025 07:17:31
Monster, it doesn't matter what you say on here, some folks on here will never come around to the fact that he's actually quite a good player.

20 Dec 2025 07:54:41
On form he is a great player. A legend in his own mind . Humility is not his trong point.

20 Dec 2025 08:01:20
Jones has been good recently. Hopefully he continues this form.

Not sure on captain mind as the captain is basically one of the first names on the team sheet week in week out and I’m not sure he’s at that level. Not a black mark on him mind as quite a lot of the squad fall under that umbrella.

20 Dec 2025 09:28:16
I’ve always been a fan of Curtis and one thing that doesn’t get a mention is that despite the injuries, he always fights his way back, always puts a shift in and is capable of being excellent.

He’s a Scouser who cares about the club, his team mates and fans and is an articulate young man. There’s lots to like about 5he lad and here’s hoping for an injury free season.

20 Dec 2025 10:02:05
I think Patrik summed him up. "Quite a good player".

20 Dec 2025 14:42:31
Rojak, you're an idiot who knows fudge all. I personally know you are far from the truth. Humility is actually one of his biggest qualities, I've had many conversations with him and he will be one of the first to admit when he ain't been at his best, he knows he has to be more consistent and free from injury.

20 Dec 2025 16:12:50
I love Curtis, made up a local lad is living the dream. He should definitely be vice captain I think the extra responsibility will give him the push to want to be captain, and he should be one day he is a leader on the pitch.

20 Dec 2025 17:21:50
He’s just honest and smart whenever interviewed. You don’t feel he is ever curating his public image, which is refreshing these days.
The drive he and Szob have makes me think we have the same mentality monsters we had in Hendo and Milner.

20 Dec 2025 19:47:01
Thefields - did you hear what Klopp says about him on the documentary? check it out.

20 Dec 2025 20:29:37
Ain't that the truth, StEtienneAmen. I gues if you know? You know and CJ's team mates most definitely know.

20 Dec 2025 09:05:23
Ed025 I’ve always said Jones has everything to be a true world class midfielder he can pass he is strong very good on the ball very press resistant fantastic engine can tackle.
The only thing holding him back is his self just needs to learn when the right time is to hold on to the ball and when to give it first time as soon as that happens his performance levels will shot up.
I see Rio interview Joleon Lescott and talked about coaching with the England players and he could just not stop talking about Jones and how good he is.

One of my old school friends lives near his grandad and he said how much of a really nice guy he is too.
I think what has gone against him is he has moved positions and to do that in one on the best teams in world football over that time it’s hard to break in and play 10/ 20 games in a row a lot and I think that’s what he needs to properly learn the role. But as a dm he is so good there when on form because he can break the lines so effortlessly when on form.

{Ed025's Note - for me Grino he has too many games like today mate where he is anonymous. A static mushroom on a pinball table who sees a lot of the ball but does very little with it. But that’s just my opinion..

20 Dec 2025 11:07:29
What's the menu for the upcoming Christmas Ed25? Is the sausages casserole still in the menu?

{Ed025's Note - them bloody aliens ate all that Mfahmee. I’m stuck with the turkey roast mate ?..
