Can anyone confirm as to whether it's true that Diaz has agreed terms with Bayern? Seems to be on some sites but obviously doesn't mean it's true.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jul 2025 12:30:27
I can confirm he hasn’t as we haven’t given him permission to talk to Bayern.

07 Jul 2025 12:34:59
If he has it's in incredibly bad taste and timing on his part so he can go take a flying leap.

But checking the sources on that I do not see one "reliable" reporting it either.

{Ed077's Note - let's not call anyone out based on dodgy rumours.

07 Jul 2025 13:11:23
It’s not great timing but things have to move on, we all do.

07 Jul 2025 13:16:34
And more importantly are Bayern going to pay the fee Liverpool want for him? We know Sane has left and Musiala is out so it ain’t going to be cheap.

07 Jul 2025 13:16:40
Bayern and Barcelona stirring the pot via the press, which is not really any different to tapping up.

07 Jul 2025 13:20:38
Ive just read that the Diaz agreement with Bayern is reported on Bild in germany, don't know how reliable they are.

07 Jul 2025 13:25:41
Bild are reporting that Bayern have convinced Diaz to move. They can talk to agents whenever they want without the clubs permission, including to gauge interest. With Musiala suffering a bad injury the German team are even more desperate to get someone in.

07 Jul 2025 13:48:06
Match our valuation and he should sold be sold. He's been flirting with other clubs in the last year or so anyways. Perhaps, it will push our effort to gazump NF for Fofana.

07 Jul 2025 14:25:54
Lyon are definitely trying to sell Fofana to Liverpool, according to a friend in the finance world who has been drafted in to try to save the Eagle Group (John Textor’s mismanaged multi-club group that includes Palace, Lyon and Botafogo) .

07 Jul 2025 12:51:53
Also Ed, Bayern like to play these things out in the media esp. after we categorically told them to kick rocks for Diaz like we did for Gakpo so I wouldn't believe anything either.

{Ed077's Note - Bayern have been getting rejected left, right, up, down and centre. I wonder if they'll throw some silly money in desperation. For whom, I don't know ?

07 Jul 2025 14:49:37
So looking like Diaz does want to leave, not sure where that leaves us in terms of replacing him and Nunez who I’m assuming is also on his way out.

07 Jul 2025 14:51:28
Pretty sure they can discuss with his agent without asking the club just not him directly.

07 Jul 2025 15:13:29
My problems with Diaz going is so many changes this season in the squad and with the loss of Jota with Darwin and chiesa all most certainly going it only leaves Gakpo and Mo from our 6 forwards last year and the defence is going through the same massive changes hope it’s not too much. But if a good offer comes in for Diaz I don’t think he has ever been consistent enough anyway.

07 Jul 2025 15:20:15
Here's my 2 cents worth. He's been batting his eyelids at a few clubs now. I wouldn't mind keeping him for his PL experience BUT if stupid money comes in for then off he goes. His replacement would have to be Fofana.

07 Jul 2025 15:44:27
Or Gordon?

07 Jul 2025 16:10:52
No way on Gordon. Sure he falls over as soon as you breath on him.

07 Jul 2025 16:11:15
Can’t look past Fofana of Lyon as a replacement, price of £35 million already agreed with another club (who, are non CL) . He is only young, allegedly a fan, and has the potential to be a world beater.

07 Jul 2025 16:31:43
Give Dìaz a contract that makes him want to stay or sell him easy as that.

07 Jul 2025 17:19:36
Lfc need players we know Nunez is going
Eliott is up in the air
So is Chiesa
So is Diaz’s

We badly need centre backs
So that’s 5 players if the 3 above go
It has to be like for like and now leave the squad light

And right now Arsenal are packing in all departments and the final piece for them was forward areas.

07 Jul 2025 17:32:42
Give Díaz nothing. He’s not on 55k so he just can go on a free at the contract’s end.

07 Jul 2025 17:45:39
As previously stated. Bayerns interest is legit and terms won't be an issue. His agent has already been sounded out.

The problem is the fee, we are looking for something aroubd £100m mark. Even tho the club say he is not for sale, its just a barganing tool.

07 Jul 2025 18:00:23
100m? 80m.

07 Jul 2025 18:14:34
I still couldn't give a flying f*ck who we sign to be honest. Bring Heskey back, bring back Igor Biscan.

07 Jul 2025 19:13:32
Personally disagree on the timing being a stick to beat him with. Unfortunately the earth keeps turning.

There could be players that now want to leave as they can't bare the thought of being in that dressing room without Jota. And if that's the case I don't think we can judge anyone who may want to leave for that reason. Everyone grieves differently and for some being in that dressing room may just be too much.

Doesn't make them any more or less of a person and neither does trying to keep their mind of it by carrying on. If anything it'll sharpen their senses for how finite a career can be and how important their choices are.

07 Jul 2025 19:17:56
Diaz is a top player and should command a top fee.

If Barcelona or Bayern think they can get him on the cheap they need to look elsewhere.

We don’t have to sell and due to his age and relatively low salary, we seem OK letting his contract run out in 2 years time when he will then be 30 or 31 I believe.

Pay the money or walk away. I would still look to agree a reasonable pay rise with Diaz and secure him on a new deal for 4 years. In 2 years time we could still probably sell him on to Saudi for decent money and he can get a final payday if he so desires.

07 Jul 2025 19:20:18
Does anyone actually want to go and be managed by Vincent Kompany?

07 Jul 2025 19:38:51
I think you’re worrying about Arsenal far too much there. Strikers fees of scraps there right now as they do not create much at all really.

We will get our own business done, the club will have had a plan, but the tragedy we just suffered will have thrown things into the air. I’d love a striker and a winger but in all honesty I’m happy to write the season off if it means the lads all stay safe and have time to recover after what’s happened.

07 Jul 2025 20:05:02
@Navy, everybody tries to buy players ‘on the cheap’. It’s called negotiating.

It’s a transfer window and there’ll be loads of this stuff before September. We don’t have to sell Diaz, so unless somebody meets the club’s valuation all the social media stuff is irrelevant.

07 Jul 2025 20:35:46
Sailor Jerry, are you on the rum again? Sack the season off? Lads stay safe? Jota’s death is a very sad anomaly. What are you talking about? Do you think Diogo would want us to go rudderless for a year? We are LFC and we survive and adapt and thrive. Please snap out of it. Your posts are worrying.

07 Jul 2025 23:08:11
@redrebel - how do we “know Nunez is leaving”?

Personally I think the events of the last week make it less likely that we sell him.

08 Jul 2025 01:33:27
Kaiser - didn't we literally just bring in Frimpong, Kerkez and Wirtz - all three player we had agreed personal terms with before we completed dealings with their club?

08 Jul 2025 01:50:30
Diaz is first choice ahead of Gakpo. Fofana would be behind Gakpo. Diaz to Fofana is a downgrade. Rodrygo, Barcola, Leao, Rogers all look like better players I think. Kvarashkelia was the one we missed out on big time.

08 Jul 2025 01:53:31
You don’t have to agree a fee with a club, you just have to request permission to speak to the player and for that permission to be granted.

But you can’t talk to a player without the club he’s registered with agreeing to it.

08 Jul 2025 08:10:09
@OP, in answer to your original post -:Nope, nobody on this forum can confirm a deal has been agreed with the player.

However, even if Bayern Munich or Barcelona have reached an agreement with the player it doesn’t mean that Liverpool will sell the player as he is still under contract for another two years.
