If they’re standing firm on the £150m valuation and that’s literally what it will take to get him then I just think it’s too costly at that point for the player we are getting. £120-130m max for me, anything more and we’re getting bumped on a player that can get injured at any point.

I'm personally not bothered what we spend on him, not my money. If the club think he's worth up to a certain amount, whether that's £150m or more who am I to argue.
Slot is known for being able to reduce player injuries, but any player can get injured at some point.

Kman I completely agree. For that kind of fee, I just don't think it’s worth it. As a Swede, Id love for us to sign him, but let's be honest, he's not a £150 million player. Not yet anyway.

People have been claiming this for days, Newcastle will not allow him to leave for less than £150m, unfortunately this transfer is over before it begins, hopefully this doesn't drag on to deadline day, use the money elsewhere.

Depends how much the club and more importantly Arne Slot wants the player Kman.
If Arne needs him to win more massive trophies, I won’t begrudge us paying the asking price.
In my opinion nobody is worth £150m, in my opinion if he comes to Liverpool he does so becoming 4th/ 5th best player. So I agree with you, But Arne is the real deal, he’s proven that. Give him whatever he needs and If that’s a £500m window, give it him

@west Derby Wanderer, I’m talking about making a logical business decision, it doesn’t make sense spending that sort of money on a player like isak. You need some level of guarantees, if he wasn’t an injury prone player I’d be all in, but he is, and we’ve seen how big money moves that don’t work out have affected certain clubs for years. We should be smart with the financial outlays we’re willing to offer, especially since we still need a centre back and potentially another forward with the outgoings we’re looking to make. It’s not about it being the fans money or not, running a smart business is exactly what has enabled us to be in this position in the first place, £150m on isak is not a smart investment imo, £120-130m is steep enough.

Just let the club do their job. Are you suggesting you have more business acumen than a massive club like Liverpool that have been doing these things for decades? He also isn’t a injury prone as you suggest either.

Isak played in 34 of Newcastle’s 38 PL games in the season just gone and had 23 goals and 6 assists to his name. Not bad for someone who is injury prone. Interesting that you think we should be smart with our financial dealings - we are, we have been sensible for years and we are still doing that - Frimpong and Wirtz went on the last financial years finances and Kerkez and Ekitike this seasons and they are likely to be offset by upcoming sales. We are being financially responsible and are within PSR. I think your decision is emotive rather than business driven but, even if it is, that’s fine.
