Salah won't be travelling to Italy.

08 Dec 2025 14:43:29
Unfortunately Slot will.

08 Dec 2025 15:51:06
Wrap it up “Whatsup”, if you can’t support them when they’re losing then don’t bother supporting them when they’re winning.

08 Dec 2025 15:56:54
Well said Ron.

08 Dec 2025 16:14:06
Ron Slot is destroying the club. This is not Mo he did not play against Galatasaray absolutely terrible performance, last 3 games we have played teams we should have won but we won 1 of the 3. Has Salah been any worse than Gakpo but he still plays so does Kanate.

It is nothing to do with supporting the team when losing we have been losing since February we can’t compete anymore because of slot he will send us years back if he stays any longer.

08 Dec 2025 16:18:55
6.45 for the pre match interview

I hope slot can only answer football questions.

His response should be its internal and been dealt with and just keep repeating that until they actually ask a question about the game.

Either that or club should send someone else with him. He is the coach at end of the day, not manager.

May not be his biggest fan but don't want him to be hung out to dry either. .

08 Dec 2025 16:27:50
Ron just chill mate it’s just banter and Whatsup has a very good point.

08 Dec 2025 16:38:36
Slots our manager and whilst he’s our manager he should get some bloody respect from the “fans”.

You don’t have to love him. You don’t have to agree with his football style or tactics or substitutions or selections but “Whatsup” was out of order there.

The team never ever does well when the fans turn on the manager.

08 Dec 2025 16:43:07
I agree Ron.
Also strange that the whole internet was calling for Slot to grow a pair and drop Mo and the second he does that he's disrespecting a club legend.
I'm so disappointed in Mo. The media circus is the last thing we needed and its feeding the internet. We were close to getting somewhat on track and its not Arne's fault Ibou keeps shooting himself in the foot. that's on Hughes because right now, Ibou is cannot be dropped, not even for his own good.
Say what you want about Slot as a fan but from in regards to Mo- Slot gave him every chance to perform this season, its not his fault Mo can't seem to beat almost any half athletic fullback. Mo hit insane numbers for us last year and is of course a absolute club legend but it was Slot who helped him achieve those numbers by given him a pass in defensive work, he will literally allowed to cheat the off the ball stuff, remain high. Thanks to Slots tactics and Doms running power to cover the distance of two players, and Mo's end product is why we won the league- a team effort. Slot actually said at one point last year that our job is to cover for him to preserve his energy and our main tactic was "to bring the ball to Mo". He was taken out of the team as a last resort and it kinda worked hadnt Ibou messed up again. 7 days after being taken out of the team and he runs to the media. Wirtz, Isak, Hugo, Macca, Robbo, Kerkez, Gakpo, have all been taking out a different stages in an attempt to find some recipe that half works because our DoF left us with no wingers (with a manager who built his career off wingers good at 1 v 1s), no CBs and clearly gave Slot the wrong profile of Fullback he wanted. Everyone knows Slot plays with a plus 1 at the back and values ball progression (TAA, Geertruida) but instead he got two flying full backs who both want to play as wingers.

This is more on Hughes than Slot right now and im not saying Slot is the man for the job either.

08 Dec 2025 16:44:31
Why do people keep talking about slot, slot being rubbish is no excuse for how Mo has acted. Mo has kicked the club will its down. he's just proven that his problems come before those of the club. can't have that. doesn't matter if he's been treated wrongly or not, doesn't justify his actions.

08 Dec 2025 16:46:03
I’m with you Ron.

Sort of know now why I’ve not been on the site for a while.

This club is bigger than any player and it is a team game.

No one is perfect but dignity and respect is a thing of endearment especially when related to an entity that actually made you what you are?

Liverpool the club is bigger than any player (or manager) and those that forget that lose credit in my book!

{Ed025's Note - spot on Metro..

08 Dec 2025 16:48:06
Ron the contrarian is back. I support Liverpool not Slot and want Liverpool to do well and whilst Slot is currently in charge that’s not happening. Yeah, it’s unfortunate that Slot is travelling.

08 Dec 2025 16:48:41
Supporting your club does not mean blindly following a manager who repeatedly shows an inability to handle the situation at hand. Ignorantly supporting incompetence doesn't make you a good fan. It makes you a deluded one.

Wanting what's best for the club doesn't mean managers automatically get support. If that were the case we never should have gotten rid of Hodgson.

08 Dec 2025 17:00:01
The team was already failing even before the fans turned on the manager, Ron. We’re not on our worst run of form in over 70 years because the fans turned on the manager, it’s because the manager simply doesn’t know how to turn this around.

Or maybe he does, but he’s too stubborn to do it because it doesn’t align with how he wants the team to play.

08 Dec 2025 17:03:10
I thought Whatsup’s comment was Banter so was in the right place and was funny. Anyone suggesting a comment like that was disrespectful needs to have a good hard think about themselves.
Keep them coming Whatsup and others, this what the site is about.

08 Dec 2025 17:15:14
At the end of the day you can agree its Salah fault or its Slots fault . but the common denominator is were are fking awful and something has to give, we've all been discussing it for months on here and there is no change of style of play, on players performance, on winning games.

We are now almost half through the season n if continues we will finish nowhere near were we want to be and then we will see proper moaning.

08 Dec 2025 17:20:35
Anyone think it’s possible that Mo fell on his sword for the fans and club?

Yes, maybe he could have done it in a better way, he certainly didn’t hide behind his agent and leak info, he stood in front of an audience and basically said there’s issues behind the scenes (again, there’s ways and means’s) .

Lots of people are questioning Slot and coaching team at this point, for good reason in many ways.

Genuine Question, how long does a new style of play, positioning and all that goes with it, would you expect Elite players to take to be competent at the new demands, obviously there’s coaching but games give you more scrutiny (such as now), what figure in games (10 or 15 etc), would the creases be ironed out?

08 Dec 2025 17:47:46
You’re not supporting the team by attacking the manager.
If you attack the manager, the team falls apart.

Unless you can name a situation where the fans have turned on the manager and the team plays better.

I won’t hold my breath.

08 Dec 2025 17:50:11
Does changing the manager mean we'll start winning games again?
Hmmm, I can see why people want it to happen.

08 Dec 2025 18:20:19
I am supporting the club, I want what’s best for the club and if you think Slot is good for the club you’re lying to yourself.

I am 1 million percent certain that if Klopp was in charge we wouldn’t be in this predicament and we’d be higher up the league. Our head coach and his dictator superiors are responsible for this mess.

08 Dec 2025 18:53:02
Iv realised in life not to debate with the likes of ron as you will never get through to them. Slot out all day long. would of done it monts ago as he's "credit in the bank" is out! Absolute pony manager!

08 Dec 2025 18:58:46
Does that turning on the manager rhetoric apply to Salah as well?
I see everything entirely separately. Salah is a club legend, and he should leave now because of how he has acted. Slot is a title winning LFC manager, and he should leave now because he is taking us backwards.

None of these things will stop me hoping LFC win whilst Slot is manager or hoping Salah plays well when he's on the pitch, not that it's likely now.
Extremism one way or the other is to the detriment of all.

08 Dec 2025 19:01:14
I can see both sides of the argument!

Slots managing them tomorrow night - have I lost total confidence in him from even a few weeks back - yes definitely but I still want them to win tomorrow with him at the helm!
Konaté - if he plays tomorrow, which I hope not I want him to have a blinder, same with Kerkez, Macca, Issac!
I just want a win - if that keeps Arne there for a bit longer so be it but I want 3 points .

Whatever the opinions if as Carra and a few others are saying his days are numbered we need to trust the process I suppose!

08 Dec 2025 19:02:31
Attacking the manager means the team falls apart? What it’s been falling apart since the beginning of the year. Supporting slot or not doesn’t win us the next game lad.

08 Dec 2025 19:18:49
I’ve worked with and for a number of good companies where the chief was the weak link, and they were successful businesses despite not because of the leadership. Often the team beneath were good. I’ve known the opposite, and everything in between.

There’s not a one size solution but I agree it’s better if its all in harmony and everything’s going well. You can support a team though and not the manager or the coach, it depends how you voice it.

I’d say the fans turned on Brendan and Hodgson, in the sense it was voiced that enough was enough and confidence had gone. It didn’t make them any less of fans for feeling or demonstrating that. From memory we got better after both had gone.

08 Dec 2025 19:28:47
Quite nice being called a Lad @ 62 SJ.

08 Dec 2025 19:45:40
I’m a Liverpool supporter, I’ll support whoever plays for us, I’ll support whoever manages us. We have to take the bad times, as well as the good and stick together.

08 Dec 2025 19:53:52
I don't think someone should be criticised for clearly making a joke most of us would say down the pub, or to our mates.
Fact is Slot has lost the dressing room. In any walk of business that ends poorly. In football more so. This is not Utd, and these ayers do not have a reputation of doing this.

From what's been said, I'm not sure that Salah has not got a point tbh. Here's a contract, now let sell him and get a fee. Another way to look at it, is he taking one for the team and trying to speed up a change? I dunno, would rather this not happen, but if it means it forces a change, and we can save our season, then great.

Thanks Arne, appreciate the efforts, but we ended last season dire, should have lost our first 5 this season, and are lucky to be were we are in the league. After 400m plus of upgrades. It is 100% unacceptable and he needs to go.

If I managed my Sales force like this, I'd be on a performance plan, and gone.

08 Dec 2025 20:35:29
“If a man…. who’s playing in front of the public, is being well paid, and he doesn’t dedicate himself to the job, I’d be hard on him. If I could I would put him in jail, out of the road of society. Because he’s a menace”

“At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters”.

“The socialism I believe in is everybody working for the same goal and everybody having a share in the rewards. That’s how I see football, that’s how I see life. ”

Wise words.

08 Dec 2025 20:53:27
It’s very easy to support when things are working well, but you get a measure of people and how much they really support when things aren’t going well.

Ron’s original comment (‘if you can’t support when we lose, don’t support when we win’) is paraphrased from Shanks and is spot on.

As I’ve said, in my opinion, I would have let Slot go a few weeks back but the club have decided to give him time. So the constant harping on is counter-productive. As per last week’s conversation, I want us to win whenever we play and that goes for the Milan game. I’ll be disappointed if we lose and I’ll be happy if we win - irrespective of who the coach is and who’s playing for us - I support the club. Without the club you don’t have a team.

08 Dec 2025 21:36:55
Kew17 depends on the mental abilities of the players, if you look at Amorim, the mentality of their players in general isn't good enough to play in the style he wants to play.

Was listening to the Anfield Wrap on the way to work this evening and they were saying that this might be Mo realising that his time is up as THE star.

If it's in the best interest of the club to invite a sizable Saudi bid for him in Jan to then bring in a Semenyo, then I'm thankful I got to see the very best years of Mo Salah's career.

08 Dec 2025 21:56:17
I think it’s the holy quaternity these days Ron, we don’t have a manager anymore we’ve got a head coach and a director of football. of the two I’m not sure who’s the bigger menace. I’m guessing Ed25 would believe the real holy trinity was Kendall, Ball and Harvey.

{Ed025's Note - they certainly were Hugo.. :)

08 Dec 2025 23:15:39
Apologies to Whatsup if I misread his joke, it just came across as a dig at our manager. We all make mistakes.

I met Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey as a kid. It was in a hotel before an away game -Wimbledon I think. They were lovely men, especially Kendall. My sister was an Everton fan and Kendall made sure all the players came and gave autographs and chatted to me and my sister, must be nearly 40 yrs ago. No excuses, they all had to come. I recently found my autograph book with them all in. And Sir Matt Busby - also a lovely man and giant of the game, he made sure Bobby Charlton and Alex Fergusson signed my book.

08 Dec 2025 23:22:39
I think the genuine sad thing about it all, is the in-house name-calling and bickering among fans at the moment.

This is not what LFC is about.

Whether you think Slot should be sacked or Mo is in the wrong, these players and manager need our support more than ever. And not because we are in our worst run of 70 years, but because only a matter of months ago a dear friend of theirs lost his life. We all said in the summer, whatever happens it doesn’t matter, because these lads would be going through hell. But people said that thinking we would walk the title with new signings.

Time for people to take a look at themselves and realise that everyone is entitled to an opinion (it’s what makes football great), but remember regardless what old Shanks said there is more to life than football and these young lads are going into work every single day reminded of what is missing.

Watch the Robbo interview again after the Scotland match and you will genuinely appreciate what being a human being is. They might be elite athletes but they are still human. And they still need our support.

This season should be about us sticking together and supporting our team.

I have my opinions on Mo’s comments but not worth fighting about.

I am sticking with Slot, the Manager who bought 20 home until FSG say otherwise and I am backing the players who will trophies again!

Come on REDMEN, let’s stick together.
