Just to put things in perspective there are 16 games left and we sit a mire 3 pts ahead of 8th placed Sunderland.
If things went badly against us this week we could find ourselves in 7th or 8th on goal difference. Just before you all start with "if" my auntie was a bus she'd have wheels scenario let's take a look how we've got on in the last 18 games in the league this season taking a grand total of 24pts from a possible 54pts available and scraping last minute wins in our 1st 4 games to have 12pts from 4 at the start.
Not great reading is it and if you were to look back at any of those performance's you would realise just how poor we've been all season, anyone who thinks we can hold onto 4th place with Slot at the helm with his absolutely disgusting tactics a team that as no guts, no pace and very little desire to put in anything that resembles a decent performance under this manager is absolutely deluded.
There can't be anymore time alloted to Slot and his coaching staff or we risk missing out on champions league football and the revenue it brings with it.
Personally I want him gone and either Alonso in or an agreement with Alonso to take the reins in the summer and an interm manager appointed for the rest of the season.
I have never in my 50yrs of supporting this club ever lost faith in our ability to turn games around but I have this season and the minute Burnley scored yesterday I knew that was it and I did something I've never done and that was turned off the TV.
I just can't stomach these painful performance's
anymore, I feel gutted for the supporters who pay their hard earned money to go watch these half hearted dire performance's under this manager week in week out.
What I hope doesn't happen is that Slot will be left in charge till the end of the season.
Alonso will sign for some other club as we will mess this up as per Semenyo and Geuhi and we will end up getting a 4th or 5th choice manager in. That's if the powers that be don't decide to give Slot another season just to push us further down the table and back into the obscurity of the 90's and 00's.
Hopefully someone will see sense and remove Slot from his position sooner rather than later or we will end up in 5th or 6th place or worse come the end of the season.

But we are undefeated in 12 games Sean Dundee will explain to you why we are brilliant.

Any news from anywhere on the Harvey Elliot situation? His stock couldn't have been higher after a good u21 tournement, Villa won't play him and it seems right now at least he won't be coming back. What a waste of a season if nothing happens.
Surely he is a decent bench and cup option?

It would cost us money to end the loan. But also, how does he improve what we're seeing, hasn't got the physicality for centre midfield and hasn't the pace to play ourt wide.
18 Jan 2026 10:06:45
I thought it would cost Villa to end the loan?
I'd rather him on our bench than theirs with 0 chance of playing, the lad does have a goal in him.
18 Jan 2026 10:24:18
EM, Slot doesn't want him. While he would definitely play a bit here and there, Villa are contractually obligated to terminate the loan. They don't want to stump up the cash.
I wish the club would forego the payment (I am assuming it can be more than 2-3mn) for the lads sake. At least he will get some game time if he comes back. I feel really sorry for him.
18 Jan 2026 11:26:32
It was a p. poor loan from the outset. He'd have been better off going to the Bundesliga.
18 Jan 2026 13:40:59
I believe that we have no recall option and Villa would need to cancel the agreement which would result in a financial penalty that they don't want to pay.
It's sad for Harvey but he doesn't add anything to our squad so it makes no sense for us waive any financial penalty for Villa just to fork out more money on wages etc just because he wanted a move that didn't work out for him.

Does anyone have any news on Konate signing a new contract?

Let's hope not. Even though I don't trust Hughes to sign any decent CBS in the summer.
17 Jan 2026 21:16:39
I fully understand Liverpool are not seen as a sacking club, but as hogan said in the summer "we are one of the biggest clubs in the world and want to act like it". Any manager who performed as badly as this in any profession would of been out the door by now, so time to cast aside this pretence we don't sack managers and start acting like a big club, make a decision and get this fraud of a manager off the pay role.

If they were going to sack him Slot then they should have sacked him during the 9 defeats from 12 run. I see why people scoff at a 12 game unbeaten run with 6 draws in there but them results on their own are far from sackable ones. We were never going to play scintillating football while getting results after that horrendous run.
we had to tighten up as we were shipping goals galore. Suppose my point is if he's sacked now it would be more because of results from 2 or 3 months ago than now, even if a lot of fans still aren't happy with results now. if that makes sense?.
17 Jan 2026 23:34:25
Sack Arteta he's just drawn 2 in a row without scoring a goal! Hardly title winning form is it?
And Pep too, he's just drawn 3 and lost 1 in his last 4.
We do tend to get caught up in Liverpool FC and what's going on there (and rightly so) but the fact is without that bad run we'd be right up there because none of the other teams are setting the league alight either. My point is the last 12 games are not why we are 4th and had we had that same form all season we'd be challenging for the title.
It's a funny old game.
17 Jan 2026 23:40:09
We've played 26 games, not 12, he's judged on his performance throughout the season, and so far it's been very poor, 6 wins out of 12 doesn't even begin to make up for only 36 out of a possible 66 points. It's time for the Slot sympathisers to pack it in.
18 Jan 2026 01:14:24
Yes chewy but i get what Sean is saying, the time to sack him was then, not now.
18 Jan 2026 02:47:56
Musiala guy just loves to talk some bollox. We're playing some shocking football. The defeat to Forest and PSV should have been the nail in the coffin. Burnley are 19th and we struggled against them more than Arsenal.
As another guy said, he's judged on the whole season so far. We've been terrible even in this unbeaten run. So yes it would be based off our form lately also.
18 Jan 2026 08:01:51
Either way, now is the time to change - it allows Alonso to assess the squad and plan for the summer - VVD, Salah, Konate, Endo and possibly others in first team need replacing - start planning now with the new manger in place - otherwise the summer could be an absolute washout!
18 Jan 2026 09:50:15
Everyone accepts that Roy Hodgson was a dreadful manager. His managerial reign included 20 league games which we only won 7 and averaged 1.25 points per game. The last 20 league matches under Slot we've only won 8 and averaged 1.5 points which is very close to that. If Hodgson had to go for that kind of p. poor form, then so does Slot., .
17 Jan 2026 21:05:03
At least everyone will be splurging how great Man U are and hopefully our sh**e performance will go under the radar, thank Jesus spurs are worse than us.

What? are you crazy? we haven't lost in ages!
I shouldn't even joke, it's doing my head in - it's been annoying for a while but now it's infuriating. Plus side is - fans at the ground are slowly turning on him. None of us wanted it this way but at the end of the day none of us expected Slot to be so sh*te.
Give him his payout and be done with him. I need to see Wirtz and Alonso reunited again, it can't come quick enough.
18 Jan 2026 09:49:47
And it would cost us less than signing Guehi.
17 Jan 2026 19:53:33
Is it true since 2017 the only centre back signings have been Davies, Sepp, Konate and Leoni.

I mean other than the obvious VVD, the only other one was Kabak on loan.
Probably some youngsters under the radar though as well.

Do not be surprised if Slot goes tonight or tomorrow. There is so much discontent now it is becoming hard to believe the board cannot hear it. When podcasts that have hundreds of thousands of listeners which usually support the manager now openly ask for him to go and are campaigning for it, its over.
He's lost the last of his fan support. He's a lame duck. He will go by the next CL game.

KK -He won't be gone tonight or tomorrow!
Lose on Tuesday and the pressure cranks up another notch though ( wouldn't be suprised if we get a result )
Regardless of Slot in or out that first eleven staring today should have had more than enough to turn a shockingly bad Burnley team over - I think it was Rome who said earlier that players are miles off it and it's not Arne missing chances or misplacing a pass or not going in for a 50/ 50! That's down to the players!
I've been on the fence with Slot - if he goes now I won't lose any sleep but there are players in that squad who've let the club down so far this season!
Top 4 will be a battle and new manager bounces with other clubs could be a big difference come end of season!
17 Jan 2026 19:10:50
I've heard it all, now. Podcasts. Really, who the f and h cares about podcasts. There were boos at the end of the game, that's what matters.
17 Jan 2026 19:41:11
He;s not going, as much as we all want it.
If they were going to actively sacked him they would have already done it.
17 Jan 2026 20:29:52
Thats where i've been all season Bristol. i can well see peoples gripe with Slot of course i can. Results have not been good enough. I just wish people seen that a lot of the players should really have a long hard look at themselves for their performances this season.
17 Jan 2026 23:44:26
I can't believe we have stooped to booing our own team. It's absolutely disgraceful.
We call ourselves the best fans in the world but in truth we are no better than any others. We want success and we want it now and if we don't get it we will stamp our feet until we do.
The problem is, booing your own players is a sure fire way to zero success. Who are we? Spurs? You're asking these players to run through walls for you and then booing them off the pitch if it doesn't go your way?
Nice one, well done guys I hope you're proud of yourselves.
17 Jan 2026 23:44:33
Florian Musiala - And when the entire squad bar 3 players is poor for a whole season, anyone with 2 and half brain cells can ascertain that there must be a common denominator.
18 Jan 2026 01:18:24
Whos the 3 players chewy?
17 Jan 2026 17:59:13
This nonsense has to stop that it's acceptable.
