Does anyone have an update on our new assistant manager? Did Van Bronckhorst get appointed to the role, or is it still ongoing?
1.) 27 Jun 2025 19:08:30
He will begin work when the players return to pre-season. No big announcement needed.
2.) 27 Jun 2025 19:33:56
Thanks Jurgen - wasn’t sure it was done or not, appreciate the update.
3.) 27 Jun 2025 21:01:59
Hopefully he brings a tape measure with him! for when we play the magpies again Alexis won't be marking Burn the magpies tallest defender at corners, such as the Wembley final.
Since the Shankly era "Tall man has always marked Tall man" that should have been spotted before the game started and if missed pre-match should have been rectified straight after Newcastles first corner.
The magpies never had Burn marking Alexis at Corner kicks he actually marked VVD, which should have been LFCs corner kick criteria also.

Seen enough this season and the game today Bournemouth vs Man C and Kerkez has been excellent and would be a perfect player for us.
Eds I assume he has attracted a lot of interest including Liverpool?
{Ed002's Note - Milos Kerkez (LWB) Only joined in the summer of 2023 after picking Bournemouth over Lazio for game time. Down the list for Chelsea who have a much preferred target. Manchester United have been sending scouts. Potential Robertson replacement for Liverpool.}
1.) 03 Nov 2024 12:00:10
Cheers for info Ed. I'm not sold on Kerkez personally. would Pervis Estupinian be a realistic target as a replacement for robbo?
{Ed002's Note - No. Liverpool has shown no interest in Estupinan. I am not aware of Liverpool having a pressing need to replace Robertson, although they have looked at some LBs.}
2.) 03 Nov 2024 17:24:04
I really like Kerkez, and also Ait Nouiri. Two very good options although i still hold out hope of Chambers breaking through.
3.) 04 Nov 2024 11:44:45
Alex Moreno is the one I want, though he's currently on loan at Forest from Villa. If he gets back to his pre-injury best, for me he can be the best attacking LB in the Premier League. Just a random name, so probably no interest, but he's the one I'd be going for if he maintains his current form for the whole season.
{Ed001's Note - he is 31!}

I am genuinely baffled Ed001. I thought he was 23 for some reason. Scratch that then! That’s blown my mind. Great player still but definitely not a Robbo replacement at that age.

Read online we may be willing to let Mo go for around £70mil.
I am not asking Ed’s or anyone if true, what I am asking my fellow supporters is would you take it?
Personally think we have had the best of Mo now, the clock is running down and possibly time to get the new blood in, £70mil is good money and should get a replacement of good quality.
{Ed025's Note - and who do you think will pay £70m for a 30 year old on over £300k a week who has seen his better days exactly?..
1.) 12 Feb 2023 19:44:02
I think the report was talking about PSG.
Myself, I have no idea - I wouldn’t pay it if I was a Manager.
If someone offered it though, I would take it.
2.) 12 Feb 2023 20:43:05
Not that I believe it but I read £50 million. Highly doubt PSG would pay it plus wages to be fair.
3.) 12 Feb 2023 20:52:59
He did have that meeting with the PSG chairman which could of course be entirely innocent and unrelated. I sincerely doubt we’d get £70m. I think we’d be lucky to get £50m in the same way Mane wasn’t going to command top whack. It’s going to be a very painful summer I suspect. I don’t think he’ll be the only one of our better players looking to jump ship either as it needs a lot of money to fix all our issues and our dear benefactors don’t have the resources or interest in the club to put it right.
4.) 12 Feb 2023 21:16:21
@Ed025 It’s obvious - Chelsea ?.
{Ed025's Note - surely not even them would be that silly WDW..
5.) 12 Feb 2023 21:44:12
A Saudi league club would pay £70 million and more. They would love to have Mo in their league.
6.) 13 Feb 2023 01:20:59
There would be loads of teams that would be in for Mo he’s literally worshipped in Egypt and all over North Africa. A huge commercial signing of nothing else.
I’d imagine the Saudi’s especially would be all over it!
7.) 13 Feb 2023 07:01:49
yes I would take 70mil. His contract extension, to me, will be one of our worst bits of business. FSG should be praised for going against the grain with that deal, but I wish we had stuck to the principles and let him go when his value was the highest. Hard to see how he lives up to the remainder of his contract, especially while he is being paid almost in congratulations of what he had already accomplished. didn't seem like a recipe of success for me.
8.) 13 Feb 2023 07:14:34
Hi Ed025.
I fully understand 70m for a 30 year old is crazy. but let's be honest here, it isn't as crazy as someone else somewhere, will buy the GOAT known as Harry Maguire from Utd.
So why not.
{Ed025's Note - they could make a film about it JLCBM "when Harry met Salah".. :)
9.) 13 Feb 2023 08:38:11
Yeah but that but you were paying for his potential return. Mo has arguably reached his peak, so to think another club would pay $70mil is a bit hopeful. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second if that offer came in.
10.) 13 Feb 2023 09:19:49
Juventus paid more than that for an older Ronaldo on higher wages.
The Mane deal was low because he had a year left on his contract also.
Salah would easily fetch £60-70m from a club like PSG, Bayern, Barca, Madrid etc. Would've included Juve too but, oops!
11.) 13 Feb 2023 09:29:29
"When Harry met Salah! " Made me chuckle, Ed025. Thanks for that, mate. You're obviously in good form today and looking forward to tonight. Hope you're well.
12.) 13 Feb 2023 09:38:44
Mk, mate, that's Ronaldo lol and he paid it back with near-on 30+ goals each season for Juve. I'm not sure you can compare Mo's career at the same stage, profile and expected output over the next 3 years. It's not comparable.
13.) 13 Feb 2023 09:59:03
If it wasn’t for Salah our top scorer would be someone who hasn’t been fit since November.
14.) 13 Feb 2023 10:10:16
Just because Salah is highly valuable to us, doesn't mean he'd be the same elsewhere. He's been remarkable for Liverpool but do others really put him on such a high pedestal?
15.) 13 Feb 2023 10:24:17
Salah scores about 30 a season and is one of the most marketable players on the planet right now. I don't think he'd fetch the same as Ronaldo did, just used that as an example that just being older doesn't diminish your value entirely. I literally estimated a price 40% lower than what Ronaldo went for when he was 3 years older "lol".
{Ed001's Note - you mean the price that Juve inflated it to? You do realise they just got docked 15pts for lying about transfer fees and falsely inflating the amounts right? So you can forget any reported fee for any Juve player, they will be a complete lie.}
16.) 13 Feb 2023 10:45:44
If we do decide the time is right to sell him, my choice for a replacement would be Marcus Edwards or Michael Olise. Olise has potential to be really special, he'll never be as prolific as Mo but he's the kind of player who can cut through a stubborn defence.
17.) 13 Feb 2023 12:08:04
When Harry met Salah ??????
Nice Ed.
Good luck tonight Ed, we're going to need it ?.
18.) 13 Feb 2023 12:38:42
I'd take it, I was disappointed that he was handed a mega bucks contract. He's lost his mojo, he's predictable, not going past defenders, his first touch is worse than a barn door, gives the ball away too often, terrible passing ability and his decision making is woeful. He is one of the main contributing factors to our poor run of form. (but if he scores a hatrick tonight, I'll take him for a kebab in my local)
19.) 13 Feb 2023 18:13:40
Wanted to say thanks to all for the comments, really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and also those of the Ed’s - especially When Harry met Salah - that’s priceless ?
It will be interesting to see how / if it unfolds at the end of the season.
I too think £70mil is quite a stretch for all reasons mentioned.
Thanks everyone ?.
{Ed025's Note - your welcome mate..
20.) 13 Feb 2023 19:44:57
Salah is one of the most marketable players on the planet? Sorry, I don’t see it myself. I think his marketability shines brightest in the eye of Egyptian and Liverpool supporters but don’t see that transfer across the world.
21.) 13 Feb 2023 19:46:56
Who do we replace Salah with folks. Because a fully fit Nunez, Gakpo and Jota are no where near as good as a 30 year old Salah.
22.) 14 Feb 2023 23:52:40
That’s a 23 year old Nunez and a 23 year old Gakpo and a 26 year old Jota (who is probably the best instinctive finisher at the club as things stand. They are the future of the club. Mo had an absolute purple patch of about 18 months to 2 years when he was absolutely outstanding and nobody (least of all defenders) could touch him. He isn’t the future for the club. If an offer of 70m, to use the number pulled out of the air for this thread, was offered, we’d be very foolish not to give it serious consideration.
As an aside, I know Darwin is rapid but it seemed for the first goal that Cody G, had his ar$e in gear too. I was surprised at his speed.
23.) 15 Feb 2023 15:28:41
Gakpo is rapid. It just doesn't look it because his strides are massive so his legs don't move as quickly. I said when we signed him he reminded me of Bobby and yesterday he really showed that. He holds onto the ball so well. Much prefer him central and Nunez left.
24.) 15 Feb 2023 22:10:11
Got to see that Salah's reign with us is done, I would have preferred to sell him last summer and kept Sadio happy if that was an option. Some mix of Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo and Jota will be our front 3 and that sounds great.
Would love the freedom of wages to allow us to make a big signing elsewhere as well.
Still gutted we didn't take the £150m+ that was reported for Salah a few years back. He is a great player, but elevated by our system over the years.
25.) 16 Feb 2023 21:31:07
Form is temporary.

Morning all,
Does anyone have an update on Kherkez having medical, negotiations, signing etc, generally any stage we may or may not be at?
1.) 31 May 2025 09:21:40
I like to think no news (lesser news) is good news.
The Frimpong stuff came out and then went quiet and a week or so later the deal is announced.
Similar to last seasons Mac, Szob and Grav deals.
Where as the pursuits of Bellingham and Zubimendi links seemed to be non stop like we were being built up before being knocked down by the media in the knows.
I’m a little worried though on which side of the fence Wirtz is currently falling on in my analogy.
2.) 31 May 2025 09:32:03
It’s the price that Bournemouth are not budging on. They want 45m and we want less than 40m. I assume it’ll get sorted eventually.
3.) 31 May 2025 09:35:51
Think the focus got shifted to Wirtz to tie it up first then back to Kerkez as I believe the clubs were not in agreement for a fee.
4.) 31 May 2025 09:39:13
No sorry.
5.) 31 May 2025 11:03:36
Thanks all, really good points mentioned - certainly think the Wirtz deal is stealing the focus and headlines - I hope things are progressing in the background on Kherkez.
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for both to sign.
30 Mar 2025 09:16:56
Hi all,
I think my issue with the Trent to Madrid news, not a conspiracy thing here - but we are so close to winning the league and this can cause upset in the club and dressing room.
The same happened in both Champions league finals - and it always involves Real Madrid!
1.) 30 Mar 2025 10:03:01
The club and the players will know what is happening. They won’t be upset at all, the players will certainly be used to teammates moving on. Some fans may well be annoyed and that’s fair enough but lucky enough they aren’t the one playing so it shouldn’t affect us winning the PL one bit.
2.) 30 Mar 2025 10:09:51
May be we can pounce on couple of Madrid players then? Tik for tak.
3.) 30 Mar 2025 12:34:25
Dont worry about what Madrid are doing, keep your focus on our team in red.
Big game Wednesday, with the right result can set the boys up for the run in.
4.) 30 Mar 2025 13:28:43
Lets keep the faith guys.
Everton will be hard to beat (since Moyes return)
But with the crowd urging them on I am sure that we will find a way.
3-0 Salah Gakpo and VVD to score.
5.) 30 Mar 2025 22:38:21
what was the transfer news that derailed those two CL finals losses?
23 Feb 2025 15:33:06
Question for Ed01 and reds,
If we possibly sell Nunez or Jota, who would you prefer we sign between Isak or Cunha?
{Ed001's Note - Cunha.}
1.) 23 Feb 2025 16:21:48
Ed001 have you seen any of Hugo Ekitike and if so would he suit Liverpool in your opinion. Really like Cunha too and would prefer him over Isak.
{Ed001's Note - not seen a lot in recent times. He was way off our level when I saw him but that was a few seasons ago and he was just a kid.}
2.) 23 Feb 2025 17:30:48
Why cunha over Isak Ed? Better suited for our style?
{Ed001's Note - I just prefer him and he is attainable.}
3.) 23 Feb 2025 18:28:48
Cunha would be less than half the price of isak if the 60 million release clause is true and would probably suit us better.
4.) 23 Feb 2025 18:43:13
Think he has a £64m or so release clause, but is he a striker? Has played as a 10 anytime I've watched Wolves though is a cracking player
I'd love Isak, be about £120m mind, not sure we'd pay that, but jeez he'd get some goals in this side.
{Ed001's Note - he has regularly played up front for Wolves, as well as on both flanks.}
5.) 23 Feb 2025 19:10:44
I’d love Isak but you could buy 2 Cunhas for him. Obviously a lot hinges on the contract situation but we could need a serious rebuild in summer. In ideal world if all 3 sign extensions and nobody else leaves apart from probably Darwin we need a new striker, CB, LB and ideally new CM and we know FSG are frugal on the purse strings, but if they are feeling generous, let’s get the LB (Kerkez), CB (Husjen), CM (Baleba) sell Diaz and Darwin and replace with Isak and Cunha.
6.) 23 Feb 2025 19:26:53
Thanks all, couldn’t chose player wise myself - but finally Cunha would be more affordable / realistic.
7.) 23 Feb 2025 19:45:42
If Darwin is leaving, Cunha wouldn’t cost too much more than we could get for Darwin from Saudi, for example.
03 Jul 2025 09:40:21
It’s on Sky News, devastating news - to the family and friends YNWA.
27 Jun 2025 19:33:56
Thanks Jurgen - wasn’t sure it was done or not, appreciate the update.
21 Jun 2025 21:41:26
Nope, no way, no chance, ridiculous…. If true of course!
14 Jun 2025 13:36:17
We don’t buy players it’s doom and gloom!
We buy quality players (or rumoured to) and it’s doom and gloom.
Who would ever want to own a football club or manage a team these days???
Just meant as a joke and no offence to anyone - all opinions are individual and fine ??.
14 Jun 2025 13:29:41
It also increases the threat of scoring causing opposition defences more that one or two problems, put an upgraded goal scorer in our front line and teams will struggle even more so.
I think it’s an area of the team that top it all off nicely.
03 Jul 2025 17:27:00
Absolute respect and thank you, your post I means a lot and very kind and true words.
31 May 2025 11:03:36

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for both to sign.
