Said it before all ITKs on this site just hedge their bets, smoke and mirrors. Look back at what thay have said and it never happens. Oh but wait we are then told it's a changing situation. If you keep posting guesses one day you will get something right. Slot unfortunately is staying.

Hi eds,

Hope use are well, always appreciate the work use do on this site.

Ed25 some great takes over the past few days regarding us and how PSG beating us was a given! I think that about use on Sunday unfortunately which is a shame. This team and manager and everything about us is an identity am sure many of us aren't familiar with, as we look shambolic.

Anyway a question i wanted to ask all Eds or anyone who has an idea around fitness more or less. Is the Ekitike injury related to the lack of training? Same with most of the injuries we seem to be picking up? I understand some injuries can be freak accidents but with the players not being as robust is this what is causing them?

I read today online that Ekitikes could be where there is too much load being put onto the achilles without it being conditioned enough. Does anyone know the truth in this?

Cheers always too for the work eds

My mate had the same injury, needed a year off work.
Even with the best doctors and treatment in the world he will inevitably get, it's still a horrible injury, and we've seen the last of him for a good while, sadly.

I reckon we will have to look at bringing in another striker because Isak, even when fully fit, can't do it by himself until Ekitike is back.

Don’t be surprised if both Allison and Vvd announce their end of season departures once we stumble over the line into a Champions League place.

Liverpool agendas Craig Houlden on YouTube has over the last few weeks. Alonso will take over. He's now saying all reports, including Ornstein and others including Alex Crook. The reliable Ben Jacobs that slot will lead us next year; it's really looking like he will be in charge next season. Alonso to Man Utd?

2

16 Apr 2026 21:43:51
Mate, no-one knows because it hasn't been decided yet.

Relax, Slot will have a lot of work to do to persuade his bosses he gets another season.

Maybe he will, but, as far as "reports" are concerned, it's all speculation at the moment. It hasn't been decided either way.

16 Apr 2026 21:46:03
Grav I won't be surprised if Slot is still manager next season as there seems to be so much conflicting info. But I will be so surprised that I will eat the.eds boxers if Alonso takes over Man U.

You seriously watch that guy and believe what he says? If so, can I have your email address? I know a Nigerian prince that would like to talk to you.

Slot in London with his wife today at La Vazza, so my son tells me he's seen on social media. Don't we have a big game on Sunday???

I see this posted online. Not sure how true, but thought I’d share…

Richard Hughes is really the key player in keeping Arne Slot at Liverpool. He’s all in on Slot for next season and has plans to bring in two pacey wingers to shake things up.

Now, Michael Edwards is still on the fence about Arne Slot, which adds some tension. Since Hughes is calling the shots on football decisions, it puts Edwards in a tricky spot.

If Michael Edwards wants to move on from Slot, he’d have to go against Richard Hughes, and that could really sour their close relationship.

Will Hughes get his way, or will Edwards make a bold move to override him?

All information above has come from reporter who works closely with us.

I've heard of Will Hughes but not Will Edwards?!?!?. 😂😂

5

16 Apr 2026 21:25:10
If I'm not mistaken, Edwards is supposed to be the CEO of football for FSG. So I would assume he's the one calling the shots on football decisions, since he is the boss of both Hughes and Slot. Unless I'm completely wrong.

Trouble is they are chums together. Not ideal.

16 Apr 2026 21:45:22
Edwards has a boss. They will all be appraised once the season is concluded.

Love a rumour, we all do. However, JonnyN06 info did sound a lot like this but just reworded?
I@alex_crook and
@JacobsBen: "It is worth noting
that Klopp's own team also wasn't
built overnight and was the
product of around five windows.
"This is partly why Liverpool still
back Arne Slot and believe a full rebuild under him is yet to take
place."

These recent rumours are completely different from what The Fields and Carra have been reporting. Somebody has got this completely wrong. I hope it is not The Fields and Carra that are wrong.

16

16 Apr 2026 19:22:06
Difference with Klopp was there was a vision and a pattern of football, there's nothing with Slot.

16 Apr 2026 19:02:28
Over to you cara the fields just out of interest what does the Eds think will happen with slot?

I have posted a few times on my take of the manager news. I think Slot has brought us backwards this season, most of our players can't seem to make it past the 65th minute without looking 'gassed'.

As I've also said before, for me, I would like Alonso to become our manager for the next season, I think he has what it takes for the club and he has the history and his family embraced living in Liverpool.

It seems too perfect that he is available to take over.

But, if Slot is staying, then he has my backing. I have supported Liverpool for over 35 years and I won't stop now.

16 Apr 2026 20:14:55
Eds 01 has said he believes they are standing by slot so that probably confirms he staying 🥲

1

16 Apr 2026 20:52:14
I believe Carra, Thefields, Robbo & the window cleaner.

RaceyLFC, in the words of Mulder, "I want to believe".

16 Apr 2026 20:57:20
Grav7, Ed001 said he believes they WANT him to stay, but if you read on in the same thread on Banter you'll see that Slot is still expected to leave as he has not settled in England (nor eve tried, according to Ed001).

On the one hand, as a parent with kids at school, I can see why he wouldn't want to a) uproot them or b) be apart from them for long periods of time.

However, this is the Premier League, and he accepted a role managing one of the Elite teams (THE elite team!) so I'm not sure what he expected.

As Jurgen showed (and Rafa, Ged and Kenny before him amongst others, all of whom suffered for their love of Liverpool) being Liverpool Manager is a 150% job. You just can't combine it with commuting home all the time

Afternoon eds'n'reds

ed1, there seem to be a lot of ITK's on here at the mo. They are reorting things that are the complete opposite of other ITK's.

After the loss of Ed2, we had a few who seemed quite believeable. we all have the 2 or 3 we look out for. Carra etc etc. but what is your take on what is happening if anything.

I cam't believe that the board think our petformances and attitude on the pitch are good enough.

Surely there comes a point where stats come into play. The amount of games lost, the constant never ending injuries, no trophies, the list goes on.

Thanks. Moan over

Stevie G was right on the Overlap a couple of weeks ago. Managers don't recover from this point.

Ta ed

Not what i wanted to hear.

16 Apr 2026 18:49:59
That's so messed up... Klopp had us playing wonderful football whilst competing for trophies.

Slot had us playing decent controlling football for 6 months, and won a title, much thanks to an insane 6 months by Salah. They really are clueless if they compare the two situations.

9

16 Apr 2026 18:56:06
Are they aware that Slot is the only manager in football history to believe that the key to success is to work significantly less hard than your opponents?

15

16 Apr 2026 19:05:33
My bet is they'll ride this wave into next season. The rot will continue until things reach a breaking point, like they did with Rodgers, and Slot will be gone by Christmas.

Shame, as that would likely rule out Alonso. Iraola will be back in Spain.

5

16 Apr 2026 20:56:45
I think it's important to point out that there were many on here saying Klopp's football was too reckless, ran our players off their feet, caused all the muscle strain injuries, and wasn't built for the PL until we started to seriously challenge.

Yes, that was on here. It wasn't all roses with Klopp, especially at the beginning, and certainly during the down years of his tenure.

16 Apr 2026 20:57:59
Slot isn't turning this around. Next season will be worse than this. We're heading back to the banter era lads.

10

16 Apr 2026 21:45:24
We can't continue under this manager, he's had plenty of time to turn it round, and he hasn't done. Surely he is going after the season ends!

2

16 Apr 2026 22:42:44
Faith, the key difference is Klopp took over a bang average squad and had to reshape it. Slot took over a very strong squad from a position of power. Yes, there were downsides to Klopp's reign, but he also came up against arguably the greatest ever Prem team, unfortunately, and was very unlucky in 2 Champs League finals, particularly the one Courtois decided to become unbeatable!

2

16 Apr 2026 16:22:11
Ben Jacobs reporting Hughes is staying next sesaon.

2

16 Apr 2026 18:00:59
And Slot.

1

16 Apr 2026 22:25:17
So Slot stays, we start next season the same as we have been in this one. What happens then? We sack him and bring in someone else, so they have to start over again. This is what Man United and Spurs have done and look what happened at them clubs.

I think we have to cut our ties with Arne at the end of the season before it turns into a bigger mess than this season. Hate wanting people to lose their jobs, but it is the nature of the beast in football.
YNWA.

I know my previous post said otherwise, but I’ve just seen this… According to
@alex_crook
&
@JacobsBen
, Richard Hughes is not leaving #LFC this summer despite interest from Saudi. He is committed to seeing through the rebuild that was always planned to take several windows post-Klopp. FSG believe in him and Michael Edwards.

1

16 Apr 2026 18:08:27
I'm still unsure of Hughes, but I'd much rather he stay to finish the rebuild. I said yesterday, but
Isak was the best option out there to replace the threat and output of Salah.
Hugo - one of the most promising gems out there.
Wirtz. There was no better creative unicorn to replace TAA.
Kerkez. Proving to be an excellent long-term Robbo replacement.
Jaquet & Leoni. Two of the most exciting up-and-coming CBs.
Frimpong and Mama both were cheap "opportunistic" buys who may work out or at the least will be decent squad players or end up recouping most of their fee.

Hughes not jumping ship for Saudi money is a sign: a) he is confident he can complete the revamp; b) there is at least some money there to try and do that.

I'd be more worried if he were to flee in fear of not being able to finish the job this summer.

For a hundred reasons, this season has been frustrating, but zoom out. It's just a season. The squad is unbalanced, but add in 3-4 more additions in key areas, and this team could click and be elite for years.
For me, Kayode, a RB, Diomande for the wings, and I haven't a clue about midfield. I'd say Anderson, but I think he will end up in Manchester.

Hughes temporarily left the squad unbalanced, but he has signed some serious talent. We could do worse. I think some people forget it was Klopp and not Hughes/Slot who signed scapegoat Gakpo.
