Trent wants to come back in the summer apparently. We taking him?
08 May 2026 21:31:00
Who? ?
08 May 2026 21:49:42
Absolutely, we should take him. We haven't been the same without him. The reason so many of our regulars have been off form this season is they don't get the quick passes while they are in space, especially Salah. Right back has been a problem position all season.
08 May 2026 21:57:08
I would.
For right price.
08 May 2026 22:03:40
Brilliant player for us in his time but we've enough walkers at minute, it's 3r4 grafters we need.
08 May 2026 22:13:09
10 million. Done deal. Purely on the reasoning, he saw the slot capitulation but sees better days. Hey, a guy can dream.
08 May 2026 22:14:04
Id have him back, not sure how much they would want for him tho.
08 May 2026 22:22:00
No thanks, he thinks he's too good for us.
08 May 2026 22:23:06
Agree with digger, we are in desperate need of grafters in the team.
08 May 2026 22:39:55
You think Real Madrid are going to let him go for under £50m? Can't stomach that, lads, sorry.
08 May 2026 22:43:31
He can do one. He made his bed and he can lie in it, the P***.
Why waste valuable funds oh him.
08 May 2026 23:00:30
Let him rot in rm reserves.
08 May 2026 23:09:28
These types of stories have been doing the rounds since the moment he left. I don't believe a word of them. Can't see him scurrying back with his tail between his legs.
08 May 2026 23:15:34
He left. Move on.
08 May 2026 23:17:26
I'd certainly welcome Trent back to Liverpool. Absolutely. He's in a different class to any RBs currently at the club. He's an excellent football player.
08 May 2026 23:35:22
I dunno, does he still have the desire and hunger to play at a club like Liverpool?
I feel like once you let the air out the balloon, it's hard to inflate again.
I wouldn't be opposed, but it would really be more about him, tbh, and we have no way of being able to assess that.
08 May 2026 23:45:05
The Spanish Judas will end up at Chelsea.
08 May 2026 23:57:15
Don't overthink it.
Is he better than what we've got?
Yes!
If you have an opportunity to sign him, take it.
09 May 2026 00:09:31
A rubbish right back with an above average right foot and an appalling attitude, the toxic waste of DNA can sit it out at Madrid as it clearly means more.
09 May 2026 00:18:08
Ron, if it's that simple then yup!
09 May 2026 00:18:48
Welcome him with open arms. Doesn't everybody deserve a second chance?
Can someone tell me what happened with Ian Rush when he left for Italy then came back? What is the difference? Before my time, son, I honestly do not know.
09 May 2026 00:46:53
He did nothing wrong. He had a chance that most players will never get and he decided to take it. It's his life, it's his choice.
If he wants to come back and the deal suits all parties, why would we not take him back?
09 May 2026 03:13:59
@Strom, you do know that he's not really Spanish?
09 May 2026 03:43:10
Why would Madrid let a potential Ballon d'Or winner leave? Any year now.
09 May 2026 03:50:20
Could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain Rush didn't force his way out of the club. If anything, the club got an offer too good to refuse, and told Rush to go. So, whilst Trent is perfectly ok to run his contract down, I don't see the 2 situations as being the same. Unless my memory is failing me, and that's not what happened?
09 May 2026 04:53:47
Trent didn't exactly force his way out of the club now, did he? He just ran his contract down. And while that does leave a sour taste in our mouths, he didn't exactly do anything wrong. It's not like he faked an injury, threatened a lawsuit, or assaulted another player to get his move.
In fact, I think Hughes and Edwards were arrogant enough to assume that he'd re-sign, so didn't engage with him until it was too late. They did the same to Vvd and Salah, and ended up paying way more for their wages than they intended.
They were also arrogant enough to not talk to Palace and Guehi in January, because they assumed that he'd join us in the summer.
Trent may have wanted to and planned to leave but since we didn't talk to him until it was too late, we couldn't prepare ourselves for his eventual exit. imo if we had discussed a new contract with him earlier, we could have either sold him for a fee or gotten him to sign a new contract.
09 May 2026 00:35:20
Comparing Arnold Rat to Ian Rush is the worst false equivalence ever, Juventus offered us an absolutely huge amount of money, Rush did not want to leave and he didn't contrive or connive his move, unlike Arnold Rat, we used the money to bring in Barnes, Beardsley & Aldridge, Rat Boy strung the club along, gave us insults by giving us the "shhh" sign.
He was dishonest with the club with his intentions and deprived the club of a bigger transfer fee, his frankly trite and worthless statements about "meaning more" are as worthless as he is, he doesn't deserve to wear the shirt ever again, he's vermin like Sterling. I don't want to hear anyone compare the situation with Rushie as they are not the same.
09 May 2026 07:41:11
Actually, Rush was sold to Juve as a way of improving relations between the clubs after the Heysel disaster. He didn't want to leave, he didn't settle there.
09 May 2026 08:11:29
Kenny said Rush reckoned playing for Juve was like living in a different country....!
Rush said that was made up, but v funny none the less. I do remember reading in Rush's book that a big reason he went was the wages he was offered, Italian football was paying the best wages about at the time.
He was the youngest of 11 children, and they didn't have v much, so he made no apologies about looking after himself financially during his career.
09 May 2026 09:31:40
Dracred, TAA had been learning Spanish for two years before he went to Madrid. It was always his plan.
09 May 2026 10:35:50
Wdw, well he spoke Spanish fluently, so you never know.. but he is still a horrible Judas, that I do know.
09 May 2026 12:20:52
All depends on the price for me.
