Jones is a technically gifted player, but a tactical liability.
He said it himself, he likes to get possession of the ball and doesn't want to give it to people who are not as comfortable on the ball as him.
Then he proceeds to lose the ball when an easy pass was on, and put us under unnecessary pressure.
I have to say, though, it's a bit rich an Arsenal fan criticising anyone for slowing the play down. Did you even watch the CL final, SirWenger? Or any other Arsenal game this season for that matter?

Curtis Jones will never be a starter for Liverpool Football Club.
He's a squad player, a decent one, but that's it. If he wasn't Scouse, we'd never discuss him, he'd be alongside Elliot, Chiesa, Endo and Tsimikas.

You're all correct. If he wasn't Scouse or HG, yeah, he probably would be moved on...
but he is Scouse, he is HG, and he does care about the club and will want it to succeed on a personal and professional level.
That's something you can't often buy IMO. A starter in a world class LFC side? Maybe not, although I do laugh that many lambasted Slot for not swapping out Macca for Jones for most of the season, but now want him sold? He's an excellent option to have, I think, if he can be managed to work on a single position.
Ireola apparently plays with 2 sitting midfielders in a 4231. No reason Jones could be one of the 4 squad players (at least) we would need in that position.

No use to us apart from sitting on bench... Average mid table player. Get shut if a decent offer comes in. Much better players than him around. Clearly thinks he's some star man and wants to play central and he never loses the ball..... Absolute rubbish.

1 key stat that's missed off here, mins played. Most top mids have probably played 800-1000 mins more this season. Also, how much of his game time was at rb. I imagine his time at rb boosted these stats. I can see with my own eyes that he's mid table club level.

That's the thing, though, we won't get decent money. Then we'll be quoted twice as much as what we got for Jones for some kid with one good year in Ligue 1. If Ireola can cut out Curtis holding on to the ball too long, he is actually perfect for his kind of football.
