Good to see us attack with more pace and energy, liveliest I seen our front players in Good while. Got bit of luck at times but sometimes u earn a bit of luck if u approach game right. Defensively I thought we poor, midfield bypassed too easily.
West ham never gave up in all fairness to them, at 3-0 and 4-1 many a team would quit at anfield but they didn't. Good game to watch in all fairness.
28 Feb 2026 19:01:08
No midfield and Konate.
28 Feb 2026 19:05:24
I've never watched us win by 3 goals and be more nervous. Our passing, at times today and again like last week, was like a Sunday League team when all the players had been on the piss the night before. That incident in the second half, I think VVD started it; it was like we wanted them to score again.
But three straight wins. Hopefully a few more results go our way this weekend and in the week, and we might somehow find ourselves in 3rd place. Then, maybe a few more wins and confidence might become a bit stronger, and we might get a good finish to the season.

Very entertaining match, reminded me a bit of the first game of the season against Bournemouth. The mystery of Mo Salah still remains, really looks like he needs a goal. I thought Slot might have taken him off early considering a game on Tuesday and Ramadan.
No complaints though we could have had 6 or 7.
28 Feb 2026 17:59:53
We were the slightly better team, but a 3-goal margin flatters us. The things that have so often gone against us this season went for us today. 2 deflected goals, 2 goals from corners, and an own goal. It was a good result, though, against a West Ham team who look like a much better team than a couple of months ago.
We attacked much better and much faster, but mainly because West Ham were pushing players forward and leaving massive gaps for us to exploit. Massive improvement on last week, but still well short of what we are capable of.
28 Feb 2026 18:12:30
I agree, loads better than the tepid stuff we have seen for a lot of the season.
28 Feb 2026 18:24:45
Much better defensively against a fluid West Ham. I still think, in possession, we are a team of individuals and lack any cohesion to our attacking play. That's on the manager. West Ham were much more direct and dynamic for me.
28 Feb 2026 21:24:45
Easy on the happy talk there, guys, don't go overboard. While, admittedly, I wasn't able to give the match on TV my full attention, what I saw looked suspiciously like a good performance. Going forward in attack, we took risks, Kerkez seems to be improving every time I watch him. The midfield lacks structure, but it kept the ball moving well. We could have scored 7 or 8, and conceded 4 or 5.
Kinda entertaining. LFC are finding a bit of form at the same time as it began to drop off last season. Two things stood out. JG, even though he can be relied on to try his best, is very limited in the RB position. Mo just looks like he checked out at the end of last season and is just going through the motions of being a footballer.
28 Feb 2026 16:55:40
Three points and nice goal difference. But for the majority of time I felt West ham were more confident and comfortable than Liverpool. Our midfield was bypassed quite easily today. Unsure if team has been asked to play differently but giving so much space to the opposition will be fatal with a more clinical opponents.
I sincerely hope lads ramp it up in the coming games and close with a champions league spot.
Except Alisson, Ekitike, Gravenberch and to some extent Kerkez and Gomez, rest of the team was playing poorly.
28 Feb 2026 16:41:48
So apart from scoring a goal gapko has been absolutely terrible the only player worse than him so far has been salah. We concede a second and he takes off Gomez and Ekitike that for me sums up exactly why Slot needs to go in the summer absolutely clueless we will end up throwing this game away the way things are going.
28 Feb 2026 17:13:03
Have you ever heard of managing minutes? Ekitike struggles to complete 90 minutes most matches, and tires around the 80th minute. Any chance we can get to rest him is welcome. Maybe you should stop complaining about the manager for a game?
28 Feb 2026 17:18:24
Ekitike is also our only st left in the squad, and Gomez has himself just gotten back from injury and is playing his first start. You forgot to mention that those two players were substitutes for Frimpong and Rio, who added much-needed pace against West Ham. They were good subs, albeit later than I would have liked.
28 Feb 2026 17:52:46
I'm no Slot apologist, but the subs today were 100% correct and were very effective. We won at a canter, so it is hard to complain. West Ham are fighting for their survival, so they are going to make chances. We can't expect complete dominance.
28 Feb 2026 16:31:13
If Gakpo cuts back in onto his right foot again, I swear. oh, he's scored.
28 Feb 2026 15:53:23
Right, good first half. Keep it tight for 15 mins in the second half. The please bring rio on with 30 mins to play not 5 mins.
28 Feb 2026 14:40:46
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Ekitike.
Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Chiesa, Jones, Robertson, Frimpong, Nyoni, Ramsay, Ngumoha.
28 Feb 2026 14:18:39
Gakpo starts again, . Same with Salah. I have a horrible feeling this will be 2-1 Westham with Salah and Gakpo having stinkers.
28 Feb 2026 16:04:23
We have no one better than Salah or Gakpo to start. Who would you put in? Rio and Chiesa, I suspect. Rio is not ready to start, and Chiesa is awful.
28 Feb 2026 13:35:18
Could do with slapping a few in today get goal difference up a bit! Asking a lot I know because west Ham have perked up a bit lately but you never know! Wirtz is a big miss but Dom's got to be in midfield, put Gomez right back (until he gets injured) then bring on Frimpong! Confident of a win today 🤞.
28 Feb 2026 11:42:52
Liverpool, defending league champions, up against West Ham, perennial relegation fighters at Anfield. And the consensus is amongst all the predictions for the weekend West Ham will win. This is crazy. With Villa getting beat last night we have to win today. But of Liverpool play as they did against Forest West Ham will punish us on the break. Surely not an away win?
27 Feb 2026 10:32:24
Wirtz still out for the West Ham game and Slot doesn't know when he will be available again. Slightly concerning.
27 Feb 2026 13:30:20
We are just resting him for the easy CL route that has been given to us. And, anyway, it's West Ham at Anfield. We got this.Easy 3 points, unless they bring the low block.
28 Feb 2026 09:32:17
I'm not too concerned that he is missing today's game. It is the admission by Slot that the club has no idea when he might be available again, which I find slightly concerning.
28 Feb 2026 12:06:47
I agree with you, Shipley. When a player comes off after the warm up, it is usually a bit more than just a minor issue. It would not be a surprise to me if he now misses several games, which is obviously not good for us.
People saying it's only West Ham might get a shock, because they have been playing better than we have in recent weeks. We looked devoid of any guile last week without Wirtz, so what will be different today?
23 Feb 2026 05:51:44
Totally opposite view to most people (what's new 😅) but for me that was a massive performance and 3 points that will go a long way to the development of this squad.
You can't buy experiences like that and they are golden for the squad.
They'll know the performance wasn't the best, but they come with the 3 points and hopefully take the character building out of it as they move forward.
23 Feb 2026 09:17:56
Insane take. What did they learn from that exactly? They were dominated.
23 Feb 2026 08:40:02
Jesus Christ mate. Do you work as a motivational speaker? You sounds like you could find the positives in a mass shooting.
23 Feb 2026 10:16:11
There are no positives you can take from that performance. We were dominated by a poor team. It wasn't even the case that we were playing poorly, but were fighting hard to stay in the game. We were just lucky that they are a really poor team, and, despite dominating the game, they didn't have the ability to create anything, never looked like scoring (aside from that 1 early chance), and ended up taking pot shots from 30 yards out.
You can argue that it was a massive result due to us getting 3 points when we clearly didn't deserve them, but that performance was 100% unacceptable.
23 Feb 2026 11:23:25
3 points is the only positive you can take from it and it's a huge positive. Football is a funny old game. We battered Forest at Anfield for the first half an hour and ended up losing 0-3. This time they battered us for the first half an hour, and we won 0-1.
We won the game, and that's enough. It was a tough watch, but we got it over the line, and that's what counts. You can't play well all of the time, and Forest seem to have held a hoodoo over us for the last couple of years, so we take the win and move on.
23 Feb 2026 19:19:27
Shipley, Forest are not a poor team; they have poor forwards. They were the best side over 97 minutes. There is no good glossing over the massive cracks in our team. We have to hold our hands up and say we, as Champions, are below the standards we set and expect. YNWA.

Textbook toxic positivity.
24 Feb 2026 12:00:15
Jesus, the delusion from some of the fanbase is mind boggling.
24 Feb 2026 13:47:39
Lord- nukem you have to have a mind to boggle
and i can see how delusional your are with a handle like lord -nukem
26 Feb 2026 01:50:44
How can positivity be toxic, Vik? If you want toxic, there's plenty on this site, but this post is not it. You don't achieve anything without positivity. Even when things are going badly wrong, it's the positive people who will come out the other side, whilst the majority will be left behind, wallowing in their self-pity. Some people just choose to be positive in life because the alternative is a rabbit hole they don't want to go down.
Oh no, don't tell me, you're a realist. A pessimist who's convinced that negativity is your only reality. I know what I'd rather be. You should try a bit of positivity every now and again. It's much more fun than just moaning about Arne Slot and Gakpo all day long.
26 Feb 2026 08:37:01
VB, how can you question the existence of toxic positivity? There have been thousands of examples throughout history where people were positive about war. Watch some of the videos from WW2 of soldiers leaving to crowded streets, cheering and waving flags. You think that's not toxic positivity, glorifying young men marching to their deaths? Or what about people in abusive relationships, trying to take the positives to convince themselves to stay? All that false positivity leads to is further abuse. Obviously, we're talking about football on here, so the scale is shifted significantly. Ultimately, we're not talking about the result being death or domestic violence, we're talking about football results getting worse, so I want to clarify I'm not comparing the situations at all; I was just using some clear examples of how positivity can be toxic.
Positivity can be toxic when it becomes desperate, like this post. Positivity can be toxic when you are gaslighting yourself into accepting less than you deserve. Positivity can be toxic when it is patronising or sarcastic. Positivity can be toxic when it glorifies something completely inglorious. Positivity can be toxic when it is misleading. What is or isn't toxic positivity is totally subjective, to be honest, so you're fully entitled to challenge Victor's opinion that this post is toxic positivity. My post is less about whether I agree with you or Victor on this post, and more about educating you on the existence of toxic positivity. Even just denying that positivity can be toxic is arguably pretty close to toxic positivity, ironically.
