In response to all below regarding Xabi Alonso.

I could get in trouble for this but I don't want to leave you guys in the dark, I don't think it's at all fair.

So.

The team behind Edward's will say nothing but what I do know is he initially led the negations and ultimately was the one who has pulled away from them.

A lot can happen too, I have asked if it can be turned around and it's seen as unlikely but not impossible.

Something has gone on and I doubt I'll get to hear what or why.

His family were looking at moving over, his assistant was onto Flo about the move and his son Jontxu who my lad knows well was telling a few friends back here he was coming back 'home'.

As I say, something has gone on.

I will say this, Hughes is being massively overshadowed in his role right now. No idea what this guy does to be honest.

Slot is still expected to leave but the switching, overmulling and dilly dallying is creating huge confusion and uncertainty.

Hoeness is the outstanding candidate to take over in the summer. He is absolutely ready and we should be all over this. A perfect fit for us in my opinion.

Iraola is a no go and Enrique is a no also, for now.

Very interestingly, Enrique has personally made it clear to Liverpool very recently that he wishes to manage the club 'one day'.

I'm doing all I can to weed info, it's become extremely hard and inconsistent. Apologies if this doesn't answer all of the questions you guys may have.

P.S You may need to replace the note on the fridge with "anything is possible" or "Edwards is a prat"

Ta.

Cheers Carra.

23 Apr 2026 07:22:28
Thank you carra. Always appreciated.

23 Apr 2026 07:22:46
Good stuff carra thanks for that. Have to say I wasn't massively set on alonso anyway, although I'm judging a lot of that on his teams 2 performances against us in champ league last couple of seasons.

Irealo would be my choice as I know nothing of hoeness.
I did wonder last few days when noise of slot staying is getting louder was it because Enrique might be available in a years time

23 Apr 2026 07:23:04
Cheers Carra, legend as always. Thanks for all you share. 100% respect.

23 Apr 2026 07:26:01
Thanks Carra .but what negotiations was Edward's leading? For Alonso?

23 Apr 2026 07:27:44
Legend. Cheers, Carra.

Hoeneß would be great, in my view. Fingers crossed.

23 Apr 2026 07:28:13
Cheers carra, it's a wait and see game

23 Apr 2026 07:31:58
Thanks Carra. I posted just before you did yesterday I think, that Alonso was now not an option as I have a friend who is close to a member of the youth set up and they had heard whispers it was not happening. Its a shame but we will get the right person i'm sure.

23 Apr 2026 07:39:10
Cheers Carra really appreciated mate. All this back and forth is not good for me. We used to think Edwards was the Messiah now he's just a mess.

Has he got a stick up his bum about the multiclub project being shelved?

23 Apr 2026 07:45:31
Thanks as always Carra. Would love to know what happened between the two

23 Apr 2026 07:46:24
For anyone thinking Hoeness isn't good enough check his managerial stats and compare them to Klopp they are very similar before he joined us.

I know you can't fully judge but it's a comparison.

23 Apr 2026 07:52:41
Their job is to find the right man. If they no longer think it's Alonso then ok. But one will tell.

23 Apr 2026 08:08:43
Hoeness was always my first choice and I mentioned him on here months ago as my preferred option. If Slot does leave, I honestly do not see a better option than Hoeness, unless Enrique is available. He has a Klopp-esq level of charisma and presence.

23 Apr 2026 08:00:33
Klopp won the Bundesliga twice and made it to a CL final with Dortmund, even in his worst season at Dortmund the underlying figures proved that his team were massively unlucky and underperforming their numbers. At the time we got him he was the most obvious no-brainer in world football, and was almost a certainty to turn the club's fortunes around.

Hardly a fair comparison to Hoeness, who has done a good, arguably very good, job at Stuttgart but is hardly at the same level.

23 Apr 2026 08:03:13
Great update, hopefully you don't get into trouble.

23 Apr 2026 08:05:12
Absolute top man Carra, thank you!
The vast majority on here cannot wait for your updates whenever you can give them.
In advance, please ignore the haters, as I'm sure there will be some s**t talkers.
Keep them coming Carra mate.
It's going to be a big big summer!

23 Apr 2026 08:28:54
PB, success is relative. Klopp did an immense job at Dortmund, but he did also have players like Hummels, Gotze and Lewandowski who were world class at their peak.

Hoeness has not had the same level of player, and yet he's got Stuttgart into Europe, finished 2nd in the league and won their first major trophy in about 20 years.

You cannot underestimate the job Hoeness has done. You're right that Klopp achieved more in terms of pure silverware, but in terms of relative success, Hoeness is not that far off what Klopp achieved in Germany. That doesn't mean he'll be as good for us, but it does earn him the right to have a chance at a top job in my opinion.

23 Apr 2026 08:29:23
If Hoeneß brings Angelo Stiller with him then all good.

23 Apr 2026 08:37:13
Thanks Carra.

Very unsure about Hoeness.
No prem experience, one German Cup as his only success. Lots of red flags for me, he's not the slam-dunk appointment we need, he's another huge risk.

If I were a gambler and Iraola was a no-go then my money would be on Slot staying.

23 Apr 2026 08:38:00
Thanks so much for the update Carra. Greatly appreciated as always.

23 Apr 2026 08:44:23
I can't see Edwards pulling the plug on Alonso for Hoeness.
Hoeness has likely always been open to a move.

Something must have happened with another option to make Edwards pull out IMO.

He must have been given encouragement by the representatives of Iraola, or more likely, Enrique .

23 Apr 2026 09:10:45
I imagine Alonso wanted managerial control after the Real experience and to be the decision maker on transfers and Edwards said no and so there's a standoff. That would be my guess anyway.

23 Apr 2026 09:18:08
The Stutgard manager is now wanted by Real Madrid so if we want him we best move quickly. YNWA

23 Apr 2026 10:18:44
Great update Carra and appreciate you putting it out there to us. ??

It all sounds a little up in the air so I guess we just have to wait and see.

Look forward to any further updates as and when you have any.

23 Apr 2026 10:22:51
Well if Enrique commits to Liverpool next season I'll be drunk for a month!! That would be nearly as good as the time Jurgen took the job.

23 Apr 2026 10:24:24
Thanks, Carra.

I'm impressed by how many Hoeness experts and fans we have here all of a sudden.

Perhaps Edwards wasn't too happy with someone knowing more about football than him.

23 Apr 2026 10:49:54
Thanks for the info, Carra, your posts are always welcome... and one of a few I trust. Keep them coming, mate.

23 Apr 2026 10:40:14
Thanks a million Carra ?

23 Apr 2026 11:40:24
Carra, when you say Hughes is being overshadowed? Do you mean he's being monitored by the higher-ups or that Edwards is basically doing his job for him?

23 Apr 2026 11:47:21
Very interesting update. Much appreciated Carra. Hope you don't get in trouble over this.

23 Apr 2026 13:04:49
Thanks carra

23 Apr 2026 13:51:13
My fridge only has eyes for Carra.

I've been hot for him since day 1 but now he's got a "my kid and his kid are mates" vibe going, I'm wet as well. He's superceded the window cleaner guy and the wags boyfriend guy for my and goes straight into the pool room.

Legend.

23 Apr 2026 19:03:49
Nice one Carra

23 Apr 2026 19:48:54
Thanks Carra. Respect!

23 Apr 2026 22:57:14
I love how Alonso suddenly isn't good enough despite a record breaking season in Germany but Hoeness is an outstanding candidate, call me skeptical. I hope he's the real deal and anyone is better than Slot currently.

Like when we got Klopp, we go for the best available person in the world, if that's Hoeness then so be it. But people giving credit to Edwards and co. The man is utterly clueless.

23 Apr 2026 23:04:14
Nice one Carra, much appreciated as always.

23 Apr 2026 23:46:48
Sounds like Edwards and Hughes need to go with Slot and co. Let Alonso come and have main say on players with help from the stats team. Problem solved.

24 Apr 2026 06:14:43
"Anyone is better than Slot"

Just saw that Rosenior is available now and looking for a job. Should we go after him then since he is "better"? Laughable comment.

Slot isn't good enough but we need to get the next one right. It's not a case of just anyone would do

24 Apr 2026 07:46:50
I think Rosenoir would currently do a better job for us Dracred that's how poor Slot is. He should be challenging for titles with this team not injuring our squad due to his crap fitness regimes. Also don't be a literalist aye.

26 Apr 2026 12:11:43
Given that we are level on points with the teams in third and fourth place in a league of 20 teams, you could argue that there are 15 PL managers who aren't doing as well as Slot and the statement that "Antone is better than Slot currently" is literally untrue. I suppose you were using 'the word literally' in a figurative manner?
