A little update from the agents knitting circle.

Allison is open to the move to Juve, the club won't stand in his way if an agreement on a fee can be reached. Players mooted as replacements: Henderson and Costa.

Chiesa is attracting attention from Italy; most want a loan tho.

Gomez has interest from a few premiership clubs; strongest interest seems to be Palace and Fulham.

Diamonde is not as clear cut as it seems. PSG are also very interested. If he goes there, a move for Barcola could happen.

Marco Palestra is another player we have a keen interest in. Someone I mentioned last summer for RB.

Last but not least, Slot. From what I gather, he's still wanting to move back home. Will it be this summer? Who knows. ?

29 Apr 2026 18:56:17
Great info, Thefields. Thanks.

29 Apr 2026 19:02:31
Cheers, TheFields, good to hear from you mate.

29 Apr 2026 19:04:43
Oh, hello Thefields.

Henderson?! That is a surprise. Not sure about that one, although Alison leaving makes it hard to think of any new potential keeper between the sticks. Surprising as him being an ex Man U player.

We prob need to keep Chiesa with Ekitike injury. May just have to play him more and save a load of cash by not buying to cover the injury. Not that he has any chance of a run of games tho.

I do like Gomez, but his injuries mean we should perhaps move him on.

Sad, but prob best for the club, and possibly him.

Happy with a right back, much needed.

Any news on CJ? (not wanting to start another debate on the lad). And other midfield targets, a nice tough tackler would be nice.

If he resigns, what can the club do? If they back him publicly, just accept it I guess. Any news on a potential new contract offered? Hope not, or the other 2 stat suits with a year left.

Thx for info as always.

29 Apr 2026 19:05:42
Thanks, TheFields...

Wouldn't put it past Slot to use our former captain as our keeper. ??

29 Apr 2026 19:08:17
Palestra has been utilized as right full back in a 3421 for Cagliari this season.

29 Apr 2026 19:23:34
Dean Henderson? Jesus Christ, that's digging in the dregs.

{Ed025's Note - im with you VV...terrible keeper mate..

29 Apr 2026 19:31:05
We should move to bring Kelleher back as number one. Also, wouldn't we have the edge on PSG for Diomande as he is a Liverpool supporter?

29 Apr 2026 19:36:21
Great info!

Like Gomez, but he needs moving on asap, lads, sadly a crock.

29 Apr 2026 19:38:16
Red Jones, his dad is a LFC supporter.
Cheers, The Fields.

29 Apr 2026 19:42:59
Thanks for the update.... The good news keeps coming! We are seriously downgrading players .... Ali will probably go on to play 5 years or more in Italy, while we go back to one average Joe after another.

{Ed025's Note - you do have some powder puff keepers Ben, Alisson is made of tissue paper, Marmalade was out because his St Christopher medallion caught his nipple, and Woodburn done the dying fly when a ball hit him on the leg, whats up with these people?.. :)

29 Apr 2026 19:16:43
Mighty. I will probably get slated for this (I'm looking at you Ed25 ?). Henderson for me is the best English goalkeeper, United shouldn't of let him go. Nothing new on CJ or midfield targers outside those who have been spoken about. Although, I think we can definitely rule out Anderson. Nothing is the answer ?

{Ed025's Note - i think we all know the best England keeper TF. Pickers record speaks for itself mate and he will go down as one of the best international keepers ever, jealousy is not a good look my friend.. :)

29 Apr 2026 19:47:35
Cheers, TheFields, much appreciated mate.

29 Apr 2026 19:51:31
In fairness, Fatwallet, this is what Diomande said "I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool. I'm a big Liverpool fan. My father's dream is to see me play for Liverpool. So that's my dream. You know, to fulfil my father's dream is a dream for me too." Those are his exact words.

Listen to the interview as it is out there. He sounds like a good lad to me.

As for Dean Henderson, to go from Alli to him is like trading in a Lancia 037 Stradale for a clapped out Yugo Zastava with no MOT and four bald tyres. Only a fool would do that.

29 Apr 2026 20:07:12
I'm dreading next season already.

29 Apr 2026 20:07:58
Now I know you're pulling our legs Ed25.

JP will struggle to get in to the top 10 English keepers of all time.

{Ed025's Note - Banks...Shilton...then JP for me Ron, hes fantastic mate...and you know it..

29 Apr 2026 20:14:24
Slot is gone. I'm absolutely convinced of it after the latest holiday.

He is completely off the boil now. Not acting like a man concerned about the future, and I put that down to him leaving in the summer.

29 Apr 2026 20:16:40
I like Lancias. Don't get them anymore in RoI. Friend of mine had a Thema. I had an Alfa once. 164 Cloverleaf. Great machine. I also had a Fiat Stilo which I must say was definitely one of the best motors I ever had. Anyway Slot out!!! Lest yous forget!

29 Apr 2026 20:35:28
I learnt to drive in a Yugo, awesome little cars. :) If Slot is unhappy, why would he stay?

29 Apr 2026 20:27:30
I don't agree on Henderson at all. he's OK, average. whilst Ali may have injury issues I'd take him playing 70-75% games in all honesty, and use Jaros as number 2! He's that good.

Ahh pickford. he's OK, never let England down but is reckless and honestly I don't think he's anywhere near Woods or Seaman, that's before getting into discussing Shilton and Clemence.
He's benefitted from lack of competition - pope? Henderson? And lots of games, and no obvious alternative - the third keeper is often a back up at their club! There is a reason why he's still at Everton, no disrespect Ed025.

{Ed025's Note - none taken Ben, its all about opinions mate..

29 Apr 2026 20:55:50
It's actually quite interesting the debate about Pickford, because we have generally not had a lot of well renowned GKs. Banks, Clemence, Shilton and Seaman are pretty much it.

To suggest Pickford is ahead of any of them is difficult, but you could argue he's in the top 10 for sure, maybe 5th behind Seaman.

I don't see the likes of Nigel Martyn, Tim Flowers, David James or Paul Robinson being ahead of him from recent history, anyway.

29 Apr 2026 21:03:29
I am of the same opinion, Ben. It also allows Jaros to learn from one of the best. It would be foolish to swap Ali for Henderson. Hughes, Edward's and Slot all need to go.

29 Apr 2026 21:03:32
Shankys Ghost, I'd happily own any of an 037 Stradale, Monte Carlo, first generation Delta, or the Stratos, all absolutely marvellous things.

29 Apr 2026 21:04:27
You've said it all there in 3 little words, Ben, "He's OK, Average". Just a reminder to Hughes and Co. that "OK" and "Average" don't win you the big silverware. They don't even win you games. Get real. Get a proper keeper whomever that may be because it's Not Harry and The Hendersons.

29 Apr 2026 21:08:40
A Henderson return is class in my opinion. I can't see why people are bashing him. Hendo to boss midfield again.

29 Apr 2026 21:12:31
Joe Hart surely should be ranked higher than T-Rex arms, no?

29 Apr 2026 21:28:38
Nigel Martyn was a much better goalkeeper than Pickford. Pickford only gets a spot because currently there is zero competition for his place.

England haven't had a good #1 for over a decade, and the current pool is more akin to a swamp.

29 Apr 2026 21:29:23
No mention of Angelo Stiller, who is my own personal pick, or Adam Wharton, Thefields?

I assume we will be making changes in midfield again, although why we have never looked to replace Fabinho makes no sense to me.

Thanks for the update, keep them coming.

29 Apr 2026 21:48:37
Cheers, Fields, clear to say we're finished if Ali goes.

29 Apr 2026 21:55:58
Vik, that was last year, this year he said "People made it out to be my dream club, but first and foremost, it's my dad's favourite club. It was always his great wish to see me play there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield. He always raved about Steven Gerrard. I was too young to see him play. We didn't even have a TV at home for a long time.

You know, to fulfil my father's dream is a dream for me too."

He also said Ronaldo was his idol growing up. Don't think there's a self-respecting Liverpool supporter on the planet who'd utter such blasphemy. Although the chap is a bit confused, in a brief interview after stating Ronaldo was his idol, he was asked "Messi or Ronaldo?" and he said, "Messi for sure".

29 Apr 2026 21:56:10
No Clem mentioned in "best keeper" debate shock horror.

{Ed025's Note - i must admit Nutter Clemence was a cracker mate..

29 Apr 2026 22:11:19
Pickford before Clemence? Ahahahaha! Come on Ed.

{Ed025's Note - its a tough one CR..

29 Apr 2026 22:33:45
I will concede that England has only really had 4 outstanding GKs and the others are all much of a muchness.
Banks, Shilton, Clem and Seaman.

However, there's one that was always overlooked and subject of one of my favourite radio roasts involving Ray Houghton.
I don't know why he didn't get more England caps because he was a very good keeper: Antti Niemi.

29 Apr 2026 23:25:08
Isn't he Finnish, Ron?

29 Apr 2026 23:06:25
I think I mentioned Clemence. For me Banks stands alone then typically Shilton or Clemence. However, I can't forgive Shilts for getting beaten in his area by Maradona, even if he punched the ball, or even worse.

getting lobbed from 5 yards and I believe Clem was done dirty with the position of no. 1 from what my dad told me.
The pains of '86 and '90 remembered.

29 Apr 2026 23:56:35
Fun fact. If you want to get an easy rise out of Peter Shilton, just ask him how a bloke over 6ft is beaten to a ball in the air by someone standing at barely 5'5". He told me to eff off very angrily.

29 Apr 2026 23:56:45
He is now Davey, but I'm talking back in the late 90's, early 2000's.

30 Apr 2026 01:12:07
A friend asked Shilton the same question... He used to do after dinner speeches in 90s and 00s. He was not happy at all.

30 Apr 2026 02:44:28
Kelleher is a better keeper than Pickford would have him back all day long over Henderson, or the Porto bluffer,
The Russian lad at RM is the only other one I'd be happy with.

30 Apr 2026 00:34:18
Pickford top 3 English keepers ever? Wow. Just wow.
All opinions of course, but I think you can leave the red tinted glasses comments at the door for a while after that one Ed! ?

{Ed025's Note - his record tells us that Westwood not me mate..

29 Apr 2026 21:55:38
Shankly, that's my concern - we seem to be accepting that we can replace quality with average, and expensive at that.
I am looking squarely at the 3 amigos in charge and I remember Ed01s concerns about Edwards etc and my own regarding the gereneral direction, the warning flags for me started with slot as head coach. A small detail, but in England managers ultimately are the power, those above have to support them.

We seem further than ever from klopps teams, and a further concern is the owners, who are making serious changes at Boston, do they want to rock the boat with us, or are they happy to just meander through the next season. Or perhaps they may have an exit planned.

30 Apr 2026 08:09:33
Banks, Clemence, Shilton, Seaman, all ahead of him for me. I could include Paul Cooper from Ipswich. Would have had a ton of caps if it wasn't for Clem and Shilton. Cooper was a brilliant penalty saver, as well as all round keeper. Would have cost a fortune these days with how important penalty shoot outs have become.
