Correct, we are not not in for him.

Minteh has Realy good stats for completed crosses and completed Dribbles, granted he doesn't score goals but he could be just what we need to get balls into Isak.

21 Aug 2026 18:14:00
£60 million bid now submitted for Minteh, and rejected. Please walk away. Please don't spend £70 million on Minteh. That is insane.

21 Aug 2026 18:23:10
I'd say even 60 is too high...
Now, clubs are just taking the piss...

If Gakpo does actually leave, and by these prices, if he goes for anything less than 100m, then there are some issues...

21 Aug 2026 18:26:55
Who cares about the cost? If Iraola wants him, I'm all in.

7

21 Aug 2026 18:27:05
Desperate times. Laughing stock.

Hughes Out, it's disgraceful he's still here.

7

21 Aug 2026 18:39:02
The only laughing stock comments are coming from our own fans, LFC8.

13

21 Aug 2026 18:40:49
Why is everybody so hung up about the fees? It is not coming out of our pockets. If Iraola wants him, that's enough for me. The fees are irrelevant.

21 Aug 2026 18:45:11
£70m on potential is absolutely insane, much as I like Minteh. The game is well and truly gone. 🤣

6

21 Aug 2026 18:57:25
This is the same guy that done all that great business at Bournemouth. As the kids would say, the math ain't mathing.

1

21 Aug 2026 18:58:40
The game's been gone for years.

3

21 Aug 2026 18:59:03
LFC8's meltdown over this potential Minteh transfer is truly generational.

3

21 Aug 2026 19:45:32
🤣 Don't pay 70 for Minteh for 150 for Barcola, no eyelid is raised.
I don't rate Minteh. Barcola is a huge risk, and the numbers spoken about are disgraceful for him as well.

I remember people going nuts when we spent £42 million on Jota. Let's reserve judgement at the moment. As Ed002 used to say, don't get too hung up about the money.

I'm surprised AFCON hasn't been mentioned - that's always a good one for the naysayers - imagine, injured most of the time and then swans off in the middle of the season - what a waste of money.

Brighton turn down £60m for Minteh. I hope that’s the end of that.
To sign a player for that much or more and him to be out injured for 8 weeks seem very odd even when back from injury it’s going to take 3/4 weeks to get fully fit.

21 Aug 2026 18:02:01
Looks like our Richard has made an improved bid for Minteh. Don’t shoot the messenger, but I have also heard we’re likely to try for Garrincha before the deadline. He might be a bit dead but we are still negotiating a fee. Seen as a good option on the wing.

2

21 Aug 2026 18:21:22
If Liverpool tried to sign peak Garrincha, people would complain about his drinking and bent legs.

5

21 Aug 2026 20:27:45
I've heard he's a big tequila drinker.
But, I take these rumours with a Garrincha salt.

60m bid for Minteh as per Paul Joyce. Mental but we need a RW so I hope it gets done unless Rayan is an option.

5

21 Aug 2026 18:17:12
To be fair, I don't rate Minteh or Rayan, but if Minteh is half the price, then there's no point going for Rayan.

If you're going spunk money on crap, you might as well only spunk £60m rather than £120m.

21 Aug 2026 21:13:19
@Rios, it isn't about the money, it's about the type of player that the club wants, who they think will improve the strength of the squad - in their estimation, the right player at the right price. As far as the club's concerned, Minteh's price is acceptable and it doesn't matter what anybody on this forum thinks of the price.

I'm thinking Minteh is a elaborate Rouge. YNWA.

1

21 Aug 2026 18:48:02
I assume you mean an elaborate ruse rather than suggesting he is some kind of extravagant red.

3

21 Aug 2026 20:30:32
Or a celibate rogue?

I hope this is true Ned. I'm losing sleep

Can't believe the negativty over Barcola and Minteh. I remember when we signed Robertson, the backlash as City had forked out 50M on Mendy and look how that worked. And people not happy when we signed Salah.

Let's give them a chance as Salah is irreplaceable but they are both young and with the right coaching they could become amazing. Let's just trust the football club and support them if they join.

21 Aug 2026 16:53:35
I think the negativity from Barcola stems from the fact we've been pushing, monitoring, enquiring, negotiating, evaluating, and keeping tabs on every day since the Battle of the Somme, and there doesn't appear to be any movement.

13

21 Aug 2026 17:24:16
That's nothing to do with the clubs or player though @TCS, it's the social media generation sense of entitlement and expectation of instant gratification.

Andoni has played 660 career games as a full back (+7 caps for Spain also), so it's quite obvious there is no one better to give an expert opinion on a winger.

He will know the strengths of a winger! And the weakness of a winger? He had two crackers in Semenyo and Rayan at Bournemouth.

If Andoni is happy with BB, then you have to support the manager's choice, which I shall be doing as he knows more about wingers than even Wikipedia! All of his signings for Bournemouth also give me great hopes for his LFC career (if they match his playing career, he will have been doing something right?).

21 Aug 2026 17:46:15
It's the Viktor effect, everyone is an expert on every single footballer these days.

4

21 Aug 2026 17:47:56
There wasn't much movement at The Battle of the Somme either, Chicko.
Barcola not having signed yet and one of the deadliest battles in history in the same sentence is an interesting take, though.

Barcola and Minteh would do me looking around the market. Both have issues, but both have massive strengths also. And in my view they compliment each other nicely.

Both have played opposite flank too, if we want to switch it up mid game and get the crosses in.

Do I wish there was a better winger market? Yes.

But these two, I think, have what it takes to make it.

Barcola needs to take more responsibility as a main man. I think he says away from that sometimes, despite having the ability. Needs to work hard on defensive side too.

Minteh - end product needs some work.

Still, under Iraola I fancy them to improve those items. I like the potential there and both are speed demons. Along with Munoz.

I hope we get them over the line.

7

21 Aug 2026 18:17:34
He's literally injured. The mediocrity of last season has seriously taken its toll on our fans.

Minteh doesn't get anywhere close to Arsenal/Man City line up.

3

21 Aug 2026 18:27:58
Surely Brighton rejecting £60m will be the end of that. Mbaye possibly starting to look like a massive bargain.

2

21 Aug 2026 18:31:35
Which right winger available does get in the Arsenal or City teams? I guess we can't buy anyone.

1

21 Aug 2026 18:35:38
I don't remember the negativity over the signing of Robertson or Salah, Jgrant. Maybe there was some when Robertson started playing as he was initially poor and then didn't play for a while so it looked like we had bought a dud but I don't remember negativity over the actual signing.

Regardless, you're comparing apples with oranges. That was back when we had a transfer team who planned windows a year in advance and knew what they were doing.

Now Dick Hughes is at the wheel and is burning through our reserves with no plan. He's winging it.

21 Aug 2026 18:37:48
Can Marmoush play on the right? Would he be a better player.

0

21 Aug 2026 18:55:12
Barcola and Minteh. Two speedy pressing monsters. Get them two (although Mbaye would be even better), a MF and a RB, and our squad would be sorted.

3

21 Aug 2026 18:57:33
LFC8, I beg to differ and I can prove it. I really think our fans have lost touch with what different kinds of wingers offer. Salah and Mane were freaks and they've warped our perception of goal output from wingers.

1. Madueke got 3 Prem goals (26 games)
2. Martinelli got 1 Prem goal (30 games)
3. Savinho got 1 Prem goal (24 games)
4. Doku got 5 Prem goals (30 games)
5.

Trossard got 6 Prem goals (31 games)
6. Saka got 7 Prem goals (31 games)
7. Marmoush got 3 Prem goals (21 games)
8. Minteh got 3 Prem goals (34 games)

Minteh is the joint youngest player there (with Savinho), and he also wasn't playing in a team that was competing for the title. So let's not pretend he's absolutely miles off the level of the wingers at Man City and Arsenal.

6

21 Aug 2026 20:34:39
Minteh is literally injured? As opposed to what?
Daniel Sturridge injured? 😂

0

21 Aug 2026 21:17:04
To be fair, though, he didn't use the word literally in a figurative manner which is nice.
