Not LFC-directly related but the DFB have been pushing through to have Jurgen become head coach of the NT.
He's been "sounded out" since late last year with the view to come in post-WC, presumably regardless of result.
Starting to see others speculate on it now too, so thought I'd share what I was told not long ago.
Diddly out.

I'd have loved Klopp back with us. It would hurt to see him have joined a club like Real Madrid, Barca or the likes. So, think I can accept him taking the Germany job.
01 Jul 2026 23:28:04
I said the other day I've not watched England in a tournament for many years. I've just seen the score in the DRC game and that is why. I've not laughed so much in ages. The squad is made up of the most over rated bang average group of players I've seen named as a squad for their country. Thoroughly predictable. Trent lad is laughing his ass off at ze German right now.

Your nation thanks you for your support.
02 Jul 2026 08:41:23
Reading a post like that makes me more nationalistic.
{Ed078's Note - scouse not english?
02 Jul 2026 09:14:49
I'm Black Country and proud, Ed078. To be honest, I'm not an ardent English supporter, though I used to go to all the home games back in the early 80s. However, when I read anti-English posts, like above, it makes me want to drape myself in the St Georges flag! When he says he laughed at the score, am I missing something? England did win.
{Ed078's Note - I assume he thought that they should have won by more.
St George's flag, always an interesting dichotomy. A native born Turk who never set foot on English soil. Bit weird that "nationalists" drape a flag symbolic of a man they would want to deport.
02 Jul 2026 15:16:45
"Makes me want to drape myself in the St George's Cross." ?
02 Jul 2026 09:35:41
I know all about the St Georges flag, Ed.
Like I say, when we get knocked out, I won't shed a tear, though I'd like us to go on and win it, as an Englishman. I wonder if there's another nation on earth whereby its patriots gain pleasure by its countries failings.
Let's leave it at that, cus I like to come on here for LFC matters.
02 Jul 2026 12:04:51
How do you deport someone who never set foot on English soil
02 Jul 2026 12:53:35
But it's our national flag regardless of its origins Ed. I'm sure if you looked into the history of a lot of patron saints and national flags you'd find similar dichotomies.
That doesn't mean it can't be a symbol for a nation to get behind.
It makes me laugh how other countries can drape flags wherever they want and are encouraged to do so under the banner of patriotism but if the English do it they are criticised.
Now we are being told that our patron saint is not even English and would be deported so there's another reason why we should all put our flags away.
Crazy.
{Ed078's Note - draping flags is not an issue. Using them to intimidate is. The fairly sudden rise in tatty flags on lamp posts, groups of masked people wearing them as capes, strangely aligns with an ugly re-emergence of racism.
02 Jul 2026 17:19:03
St George was a turk? That's not true, we all know he was white, fought a dragon and was definitely pro Brexit

Hi What's the news on Alonso becoming coach not heard anything for a while?

01 Jul 2026 23:06:46
He turned us down, mate. Gone to Burnley.
01 Jul 2026 23:20:09
Alonso decided football wasn't for him anymore and signed long-term contracts with Strictly Come Dancing, Love Island, and repeats of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
02 Jul 2026 05:53:07

Isn't thay 4 players too many?
02 Jul 2026 07:49:27
A few from that list are still u21 so they don't count towards the 25-man squad limit, Bazzinga.
01 Jul 2026 19:54:25
Wow Spurs mean business £100 million now on Tonali.

Latest linked player is Mainz 05 Japanese defensive midfielder, Kaishe Sano. 25 had a great World Cup.

Hard no on that one, pal. Read his history.
01 Jul 2026 13:10:10
I did see Ed1s note but only after I had pressed send
01 Jul 2026 14:12:36
Between him and that Norwegian fella they'd have their own nonces wing.
01 Jul 2026 08:37:34
A couple of names for RW not mentioned on here I don't think.
Ibrahim Mbaye:
PSGs Senegal RW who's 18. Looks a real talent and with PSG now after two right wingers could he be available?
Matias Soule:
Argentinian RW at Roma. Had a good season. Only 23.

01 Jul 2026 10:19:02
I've seen Mbaye mentioned a few times. Will be interesting to see who we do end up signing.
01 Jul 2026 13:10:37
Pulisic latest linked, Shipley.
01 Jul 2026 14:14:02
Soule is painfully one paced. As for Pulisic, I'm sure our physios have enough on their hands without adding that sicknote.
01 Jul 2026 17:56:12
Victor, he's missed 15 games in three years for Milan. Compare that to Alisson who's missed 40 games in two years.
01 Jul 2026 18:20:29
Put Pulisic back in the Premier League and he'd break down quicker than second hand Yugo Zastava.
01 Jul 2026 18:25:20
Pulisic's body cannot handle PL football.
01 Jul 2026 18:36:45
There's a show called Pawn Stars.
American show, and in one episode, a guy brings in a signed Pulisic shirt from his time at Chelsea
They basically compared him to Messi...
Do yourselves a favour and go search up that episode on YouTube.

Rumours Barcelona have Isak on their list of players after Alvarez and Kane for CF. And I don't think they are getting those two.
Question for you all. If you could recoup the same money we paid for Isak, would you do it?
Not sure if this is controversial or not, but I would.
I don't doubt Isak's ability one bit. I just don't think he can stay clear of injuries. And if we get back what we paid, I'd be willing to overpay a large chunk of it to Bournemouth for Rayan.
If Isak turns out stay fit over the next few seasons, I have no doubt it would end up a mistake to sell such is his quality. But like I said, injuries.
What's your thoughts?
Agree4
01 Jul 2026 05:25:45
Yes I would.
I've posted about this during the season and my thoughts haven't changed at all. Ekitike and Isak are competing pieces, not complimentary. Both at full fitness, take from the other, and in the next season or two, one may have to go.
If Isak is on the table to move, then yes, I would consider the opportunity to move him on. But it would depend on how much money on the table and who we could bring in. Kinda obvious considerations as I type them lol.
01 Jul 2026 10:20:39
I don't think that Barcelona have that kind of money these days.
01 Jul 2026 12:15:22
They do, Shipley, it's all very rob Peter to pay Paul but they can do it.
01 Jul 2026 14:15:07
Barcelona neither has the money nor players worth taking in exchange. They can always buy him on FIFA.
01 Jul 2026 14:50:33
It's a definite yes if they come knocking. I'd think it's more likely that we offload Wirtz first, tbh, as it's between him and Szob for a starting place when we get a winger in, and Szob is the better player by some distance for Premier League football.
01 Jul 2026 16:38:07
Ekitike will have a battle to successfully come back from his injury, and may never be quite the same again. Iraola may play in a way that sees Isak do more than stand around like a thinner Andy Carroll - Pretty sure that's not his game.
Would only get rid of Isak if he is properly replaced.
01 Jul 2026 18:32:42
Barcelona do the cash or at least can finance the deal over terms as most deals are these days.
01 Jul 2026 18:38:02
I reckon Barca are gonna go for Haaland in a season or 2....
01 Jul 2026 22:54:36
If they throw Casado or Bernal into the pot, I would be interested in at least talking to them.
30 Jun 2026 20:01:25
Another big money transfer, figures are getting crazy.
Spurs have agreed an £85m deal to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham.

30 Jun 2026 20:15:00
Their midfield is going to be pretty decent by the sound of it given that Tonali is likely going there...
Still, we'll have Jones & Elliott... marvellous.
30 Jun 2026 20:32:42
Hopefully, with them signing midfielders, that will open the door for Archie Gray to be available.
30 Jun 2026 22:54:05
No Vik, we have Grav and Szob who are far better players than Fernandes and Tonali. And we don't have to spend the best part of £200m to get them either.
01 Jul 2026 08:14:07
I would like Archie Gray.
