According to Fabrizio Romano we are looking to sign Victor Munoz. Giving a hear we go but I've not seen his name mentioned before.

Just been watching videos of Luca Eden… what a player!! Gives me Stevie G vibes.
{Ed025's Note - why Racey, is he a miserable big head?.. :)
17 Jun 2026 18:57:24
?? I'll give you that ed025, he is one of those who is different on camera than off it ?
17 Jun 2026 21:04:03
All the best have a bit of ego ed.?That's why all the Everton lads are so humble.
{Ed025's Note - i like a bit of swagger FM but there is a line mate, and to the miserable one the line is a dot..
18 Jun 2026 06:55:31
If Luca Eden makes it, he's proof that anyone can make it through hard work and dedication.
My middle lad played against him for years on the Wirral and he was decent but not standout.
However, I saw him a few years later play against my lad in a schools cup final and he ran the show without breaking sweat.
He reminds me of Adam Wharton. Not blessed with pace, but has the midfield attributes of tenacity, reading of the game, close control, use of the body, passing range and vision to have a chance.
Odds remain against him, however, as they do for the majority of academy lads.
17 Jun 2026 13:01:38
Does anyone think John Stones would be a good free signing, to help VVD bed in the 2 new centre backs & play if required?
{Ed001's Note - this has to be a wind up.}
17 Jun 2026 14:31:05
Our medical staff have enough on with the usual suspects.
17 Jun 2026 14:53:12
No. Stones spends most of his time in bed. Injured.
17 Jun 2026 15:19:45
He should go to Madrid to help them bed Konate in.
17 Jun 2026 18:06:27
He would be good company to keep Jo Gomez company in the Treatment Room.
17 Jun 2026 19:41:15
No thanks. Injury prone and washed up.
17 Jun 2026 20:12:52
I'm amazed he's got a start tonight, shows you the shortage of English centre backs right now. Not sure how Madueke starts as well, but we should have enough to beat Croatia.
17 Jun 2026 20:14:10
Stones starts against Croatia... Let's see what he still has to offer.
17 Jun 2026 21:40:11
When you say to bed them in, do you mean to actually put them to bed at night? Might be ok for that.
17 Jun 2026 06:34:21
There shouldn't even be a debate. Messi has been playing at the highest level for over 20 years, and his ability to do exactly what he wants on the pitch, to read the game, shoot, pass, and find space is simply out of this world.
Have there been more skillful players? Of course. We've had the original Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Maradona. But Messi is the Goat. He makes football look effortless.
Take a bow and just enjoy the privilege of living through his era.
17 Jun 2026 09:54:14
I'd have to disagree. Out of your list of players, I think the original Ronaldo and Maradona were streets ahead of him. I'd even put Pele above Messi as well.
Ronaldo was the most complete forward I've ever seen. He could literally do it all. Sadly, his injuries (and possibly his party lifestyle) robbed him of a great career, but for those few years, he was without a doubt the best in the world.
Maradona is the epitome of a one man team. He dragged an obscure Napoli team to the very top of European football. And all this while he was getting the crap kicked out of him too. Messi doesn't come close to Maradona imo. He always has good players around him and could not win titles singlehandedly. Games, yes, but not titles.
17 Jun 2026 10:39:57
Yes, on the pitch Messi is outstanding, but as a human being he is the worst. I've seen it first hand how he treats fans, especially. There was this young lad maybe as old as ten & he came over to Messi, wanted his jersey signed, & was pushed in face by Messi, then his security dragged this kid away & Messi just laughed and carried on ignoring multiple requests from fans.
Also, it's well known that he is not well liked as a person, as he is so up his own arse & talks down to people.
17 Jun 2026 12:09:45
Ronaldinho all day was the greatest ever with a ball at his feet. He was magic. He just wasn't as bothered or focused as the others on his game.
Had he had the drive of Cristiano, there would be zero debate at all.
Messi comes fourth for me on the names mentioned, and the reason for Maradona above Messi is because there is no doubt Diego could play in the current version of the game, whereas Messi back in Diego's day would not be able to handle the rough and tumble as much.
Ronaldinho
R9
Maradona
Messi
Pele.
17 Jun 2026 13:38:37
Agree with Dracred, and can't have a top 5 without Cruyff!
Maradona
Pele
Cruyff
Messi
Best
& yep - I'm old enough to have seen Best live even though he was past his best when I watched him.
17 Jun 2026 18:05:19
Dalglish was the greatest player of all time and don't you lot forget it.
17 Jun 2026 19:42:20
Maradona was far better and didn't have the benefit of referees protecting him.
17 Jun 2026 21:21:18
Vv, Maradona could protect himself. Got a mean flying kick and his knees to face ko most men. Haha.
Seriously though, in my opinion no one comes close to him. He was a genius.
17 Jun 2026 22:33:37
Maradona, and even the peak of the original Ronaldo was before my time, but in the modern game there has been no one as good as Messi. I find it impossible to compare eras, and hence do not think there is an argument either way.
If, really, attackers are so protected now, then by definition, defending should be significantly harder (it's a zero sum game after all), and VVD is then the best defender of all time.
But you will still get old timers saying he is not as good as Hansen, Baresi, or whomever else.
18 Jun 2026 10:56:45
Messi is great, but so are the drugs. ???
18 Jun 2026 13:52:42
Zidane surely has to be mentioned in here. All other players mentioned are forwards. He was doing everything in the middle of the park and made it look effortless.
Certainly one of the best players I've watched.
16 Jun 2026 21:48:11
Who was it said Barcola was rubbish? You complete muppet. Just watch that goal - movement, pace and finish. If that’s rubbish, I truly hope you get Nunez instead!
16 Jun 2026 23:02:54
Me, I said it too. I ain't no muppet.
19 Jun 2026 04:25:11
He ran really fast on a diagonal run and then chipped the keeper.
I saw Nunez do that in the Premier League.
16 Jun 2026 21:44:23
Don’t usually get inside information but apparently we can rule out Konoplyanka as a replacement for Salah.
Make of it what you will.
16 Jun 2026 22:22:29
My sources say Simao is unlikely too.
16 Jun 2026 22:57:45
Ken Aguero still available.
16 Jun 2026 23:21:19
What about Arda Turan?
16 Jun 2026 23:32:55
John Barnes is coming back, just like his England rap!
16 Jun 2026 18:57:54
Damn... De Zerbi isn’t playing around.
Spurs are moving fast - fighting relegation must have hit home.
16 Jun 2026 19:41:24
Hardly any stand out signings.
Practical, yes, much different to what get had, not really.
16 Jun 2026 23:44:03
Just getting rid of Romero will do them a huge favour.
Signing Robbo, Senesi and Van Hecke is a bit meh.
If they get Tonali, that would be a statement, but I can't for the life of me understand why he'd want to go to Spurs.
17 Jun 2026 10:43:40
Tonali link is more to do with the Italian manager, as they have the same circle of friends.
17 Jun 2026 12:11:20
Yes, if Tonali moved, is it not just a sideways (at best) step?
16 Jun 2026 16:20:40.
So hopefully we can shift a few and to open up space in the squad for new blood and cash in on players not needed/used.
Mama
Elliot
Endo
Chiesa
From the first team could all be sellable. I would keep Jones (we need a scouser lol).
Some of the kids will no doubt be looked at also for moves from perhaps lower clubs.
16 Jun 2026 18:58:46
Elliot and Jones will be sold as only one year left. Chiesa has said he will only look to move if no opportunities, so may stay. Endo has one year left and is 33, so will stay imo.
16 Jun 2026 20:19:22
What would Elliott and Jones, between them, bring in if Jones heads off to Italy? £45m at most? We're going into a season of high octane football under this coach. Would we not be better off keeping them? Elliott could be backup to Wirtz if he does end up playing as the 10.
We could work during the season on extending them if things work out. Both are young and love the club, and for the pittance we'd receive, we could be better off with them around.
16 Jun 2026 21:57:38
I don't get involved with finances, Florian, not worth it.
16 Jun 2026 22:17:17
If the only reason to keep Jones is the geographical location of his birth, then there's no reason. He certainly doesn't deserve to stay because of football reasons.
16 Jun 2026 22:40:24
The biggest reason for me should be not losing a bloke who featured 49 times last year for £17m.
{Ed025's Note - most of those players who played last year for Liverpool would be overpriced at £17m mate..
16 Jun 2026 23:22:23
Liverpool want £25m for Jones and similar for Elliot. Both have one year left, Flo, so they have to be moved on if the club doesn't want to offer new deals.
16 Jun 2026 22:53:21
I know Ed, But £17m wouldn't even get ye a Gardner.
{Ed025's Note - you must have some sized lawn FM.. :)
17 Jun 2026 07:42:37
Craig Gardener?
17 Jun 2026 12:13:16
Loved that Ed25 haha
16 Jun 2026 16:10:26
Whilst responding to another post I thought I would ask everyone who they think will make it this season into the 1st team squad.
Below are some of the names pretty close to the first team or perhaps waiting on a second chance with the right coach.
Pecsi
Jaros
Nyoni
Bajcetic
McConnell
Ngumoha
Lucky
Nallo
Ndiaye
Scanlon
Morrison
Stephenson
Danns
Figeroa
Gordon
Koumas
Sonni-Lambie
Wright
Abe
Personally I would have one of the young keepers as number two and sell Mama if we can get Ali to agree an extension.
We obviously have Leoni and Jacquet for defence but they are nailed on 1st teamers for me.
I would like to see Ndiaye and Scanlon given a shot.
Midfield I hope Nyoni and Baj can step up.
Forwards would be good to see if Wright and Figeroa can step up and if Danns has got over his injuries.
All in all exiting youth options on paper.
17 Jun 2026 19:03:54
Obviously, Rio will get more game time & I think Nyoni & Ndiaye will feature. I've not been too impressed with Nallo or Lucky from what I've seen of them, so getting them two, especially loaned out, will hopefully improve them.
