I don’t know if we will or won’t be signing anymore players.
The right attack position for what has been on offer and for the price, am glad we are not signing anyone this window.

I would think two cm would be better and play Szoboszlai wide right.
Then a right back loan or permanent signing there has got to be someone available who is better than Frimpong.

With 24 hours to go, yeah?

31 Aug 2026 21:41:49
As I pointed out this morning, Dom's stats at Leipzig playing rw are fantastic. I'd like to see him rw with Nyoni and Grav in the middle.

5

31 Aug 2026 21:46:09
I agree, Grino. Would prefer we didn't sign any further players than panic buy. Also glad Gakpo is staying. Not sure why he gets pelters at times; can play either side and through the middle.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:48:33
Turning down 85m for Gakpo because we couldn't sign a RW when we knew Salah was leaving 6 months ago is awful. He'll probably go to Spurs in January for about 50m and we'll try to get Minteh then when he's fit.

5

31 Aug 2026 22:03:02
Richard Hughes is spinning a lot of plates and has to think of Al Hilal too.

3

31 Aug 2026 22:15:07
We have looked at quality RWers all window and either they said no or the clubs said no. That’s how it works in the real world. Munoz will do for now with backup from Gakpo and Kumas.

0

31 Aug 2026 22:32:54
We could have signed Mbaye months ago for a reasonable fee.

1

31 Aug 2026 23:17:08
There's a reason that a lot of clubs are turning away from Mbaye, apparently.

0

31 Aug 2026 23:57:26
Grav is not a 6; teams have found him out. He obviously doesn't want the role. We don't have anyone capable of this position for the season.
Yet many players are available for the position, yes without Premier League experience, but would do better than our current midfield line-up.

Which is, as we can see, woeful, just like our opponents do.
Is there anyone above Hughes who can override his last days of existence? 🤔

I just read that Forest bid £30 for Nyoni…. We have rejected and I hope we told them - no… For me Nyoni should be starting.

16

31 Aug 2026 20:55:32
I’d send them a £30m bid for Gibbs-White.

7

31 Aug 2026 21:04:53
I’m expecting big things of Nyoni. I think he’s the reason why we haven’t gone all in on another midfielder.

2

31 Aug 2026 21:08:04
He's far too light.

2

31 Aug 2026 21:12:45
Trey bien. Trey bien.

3

31 Aug 2026 21:38:14
For me he’s one of the best passers of the ball we have (bar Wirtz). The weight and precision he puts on the ball really helps break the lines and makes attackers' jobs so much easier.

Having said that, I’m still not sure he’s ready to start against the very best teams... he's still learning his craft and needs a bit more time to adjust to the physicality.

2

31 Aug 2026 21:38:46
You're not comparing Nyoni with Gibbs-White, are you, MK?

4

31 Aug 2026 22:04:15
Big things expected of a lad that has about 34 minutes of PL experience, but to be fair that’s about 14 minutes more than our last great DM hope Bajcetic.

3

31 Aug 2026 22:16:33
Trey is slight but strong enough for a 19-year-old. Salah was a giant, wasn't he?

1

31 Aug 2026 22:22:18
Twas a joke, Rome.

1

31 Aug 2026 22:31:07
I was hoping it was, MK!
I was hoping it was, MK!

Almost Connect Four!

31 Aug 2026 20:11:55
Notts Forest offered us 30M for Nyoni 👀 We obviously turned it down but that goes to show what’s thought of him.

2

31 Aug 2026 20:10:33
Mamardashvili staying. Makes absolute sense. No way could we go through season with Woodman as our back-up keeper.

4

31 Aug 2026 20:49:15
According to some, we could Rome. 😳

2

31 Aug 2026 21:01:38
Woodman got given a three-year deal. No idea why.

2

31 Aug 2026 21:20:32
Mama has been a poor buy. If we can upgrade for a no2 then we should have. So it's a transfer failing.
He wasn't particularly good at shot stopping or with his feet.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:46:25
Woodman looked way better than Mama and he’d be my no.2 over Mama.

3

31 Aug 2026 22:17:05
Couldn't even cut it at Preston, Jay dub.

1

31 Aug 2026 20:02:14
Mudryk, Tosin, Malik Fofana, Camara, Kone... are all available for transfer.

We should look to get one CM and one defender in.

Gapko stays and cover RW with Munoz and Koumas.
Barcola, Rio and Witz cover LW.
Isak, Gapko, Barcola cover Fwd.

We don't have too bad a fwd line.
Etitike to come back.
Chiesa and W. Wright still with squad.

We are lacking in middle.

Grav slob, Witz, Macca, Endo and Nyoni are our options.
Wid Endo and Mac too slow.
We need to get one of Camara and Kone, both seem available around 50m.

Defence I still want 1 more signings to cover either position.

Arujao, Jaquet, VVD, Kerkez should be starting defence.
Frimpong, Gomez, Leoni and New Player should be 2nd defence

1

31 Aug 2026 20:43:27
I don't count Ekitike for this season. His injury is among the worst you can get. He is an option next season.

Out of that list, I would like us to get Camara.

5

31 Aug 2026 21:07:55
Absolute shocker we are not going for Mudryk and Tosin. 😂

Not sure Kone is available.

Camara, possibly you are right there. I'm not sure he is good enough myself but I haven't seen enough.

I like Malick Fofana too. It's just literally the one position we have ridiculous squad depth.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:25:01
I think if Ola Aina was cheap around 15m (if they ask more I'm out), he could be a good stop gap. Homegrown too, so will allow us to grow our squad without taking a foreign spot. He brings a physical presence. I suspect they want to keep Neco and with Munoz joining, he may be an option.

I'd still do Minteh if we could get it over the line but I would keep Gakpo as if Isak keeps going how he started, he'll need benching. But I hope the goal kick starts him and he improves week on week from here.

But he will still need competition. I explained my thoughts on Minteh's value over and over.

Then I'd hang tough on CM just now. Maybe try Sadiki next year. Not sure Kone or Camara are good enough. I like Kone but he is deceptively slow. He looks like he is quick but he is not. Let's wait for the real thing. I'm all in on Sadiki next year. This year was always going to be a no go for him but next season think we can push for him.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:36:28
Camara has been on our target list for over 2 years (Jan 25) and yet here we are with 24 hours of the window left.

2

31 Aug 2026 21:42:03
Mudryk? Sorry, please tell me there's another lad called Mudryk that doesn't play for Chelsea that you're referring to!

1

31 Aug 2026 21:50:10
Kerkez should be the backup left back we need a starter.

1

31 Aug 2026 23:21:00
Good shout on Aina, Davey. I was focussing so much on Neco that I forgot Aina is HG too. Contract for another couple of years, so may be a bit more than £15m but worth an enquiry.

Conspiracy theory time: Saudi's window is open until 6/9 - wonder if the STC is lining up some morsels for his new club??

1

31 Aug 2026 19:42:48
Think Gakpo gets 10/15 goals, 10 assists easy from the right easy, that’s better than Sarr will get so happy he’s staying.

On a more sour note, squad planning and how short we are is diabolical.

Who’s fault I’m not sure it’s all on Hughes as we’ve always been short here and there long before he got here so I’m guessing the purse strings are tighter than we are led to believe.

10

31 Aug 2026 20:07:28
Whenever I've seen Gakpo on the right he's been completely dreadful.

9

31 Aug 2026 20:09:40
Would everyone be moaning if Frimpong and Kerkez performed and our midfielders used their brains?

0

31 Aug 2026 20:09:42
"You will never get dis, you will never get dis, lalalalalalaa"

- Borat Hughes.

2

31 Aug 2026 20:20:17
It's on Hughes.

3

31 Aug 2026 20:33:51
The way he has acted during this transfer saga shows his character. He gave his 100% in all the matches so far. Who knows, Bardley on right and Gakpo on LW, with Isak as ST, we might just make it Big!

0

31 Aug 2026 20:35:09
And when Isak gets injured for 4 months?

2

31 Aug 2026 20:36:06
Gakpo is a better and more proven player at this level than Sarr - no doubt.

He's also younger and already plays for us, so won't need to relocate, settle into the group, etc.

Fabrizio is saying he's staying now anyway - thankfully.

4

31 Aug 2026 20:38:27
You've seen Gakpo on the right for 71 minutes, lad.

2

31 Aug 2026 20:40:54
I find his general play can be poor. Not a threat in behind on the counter, doesn't really drag you up the pitch with ball carrying, not intricate, hasn't built a relationship with Wirtz or Kerkez, etc.

But from the left, you just fancy him to pop up with a goal every other game.

And from the right, I can see him being quiet, but then smashing in some deadly crosses, like his assist against Forest.

I think Minteh would improve our overall game, but I know who my money would be on for a goal.

0

31 Aug 2026 20:43:28
Best player on the weekend, Mikey. 😂

1

31 Aug 2026 20:43:49
City fans must be very very relieved.

0

31 Aug 2026 21:10:32
Someone hasn't seen Gakpo this season. He has been our best player.
Glad he stays, VVD will tell Jim he is part of the team and the new manager and his tactics will be good all round for the team.

We just need a few wins to get that momentum going. We have a team of top-class players

3

31 Aug 2026 21:22:12
Gakpo also is on a massive wage for his middling abilities.

He was one dimensional and decided to never improve over the last 2 years, I think getting him off the books would have been a bonus.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:26:03
Minteh will
Level up that team like no man's business.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:32:58
Best player at the weekend? Did you watch him tracking back against Forest?

1

31 Aug 2026 21:36:49
Gakpo will be like a new signing.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:50:52
I think Gakpo on the right could be a bit of a Dirk Kuyt, nothing flashy but chips in with some important goals.

0

31 Aug 2026 19:42:06
Anyone think we might Gazzump Newcastle again and come in and buy Fernandez-Pardo from Lille? Can play all across the forward line.
'Of players aged 21 and under across Europe's big five leagues last season, Fernandez-Pardo ranked second for big chances (21), fifth for touches in the opposition box (184) and shots on target (30), and seventh for goals and assists combined (13)'.

4

31 Aug 2026 20:33:01
I think we've loads of forwards, mate. What we really need is a midfielder.

1

31 Aug 2026 20:34:45
Nope, we don't need him right now. I would rather spend on Camarra or Kone at this point.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:29:04
Rover, I've been saying Camara or Sadiki all summer but with almost zero chat or rumour of midfielders it looks like we don't believe we need one. Whereas we could do with a player like Pardo to compete with Muniz on RW and be a good strong back up to Isak.

Almost every fan on here wants an aggressive tackle winning mid but the club don't seem to agree.

1

01 Sep 2026 00:18:15
If we are keeping Gakpo, then our only priority should be a solid DM or fullback positions. Szob can play right sided attack and he's probably our best crosser of the ball so that makes sense to me.

0

31 Aug 2026 19:38:55
Is this the same Allan that we were interested in, plays as a right winger? "Manchester City have signed winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m".

2

31 Aug 2026 19:33:06
Out of curiosity, where would you rate this transfer window, would you guys say it’s up there with the Summer 2014 transfer window? When taking into account who left and who we have bought in to replace them?

0

31 Aug 2026 19:50:54
7/10 for me. I wanted Kounde to replace Frimpong, Barcola to replace Salah, and Camara to replace Mac Sllister. Club clearly disagreed. Is what it is though, and we've replaced everyone who left and filled the Guehi gap.

3

31 Aug 2026 19:54:56
2014, when we sold one of the best players in the world and replaced him with Markovic, Lambert and Balotelli. It's not even close.

4

31 Aug 2026 19:55:50
No point trying to even compare 2026 Robbo and Salah to Prime Suarez. It was time for both to move on. Been great players for us but age caught up.

1

31 Aug 2026 19:57:32
2/10.

Anyone who gives 7 or above needs meds

6

31 Aug 2026 21:03:26
7. Wow, that’s unbelievable. We are short in many areas. If we get really lucky on the injury front we can hang on until January. 5/10 max

3

31 Aug 2026 21:03:33
4/10.
Downgraded Robbo for Tsimikas.
RB issue not resolved.
Still no DM.
Jones not replaced.
Not enough squad depth as a whole.

Other signings are good and Barcola is great.

1

31 Aug 2026 21:14:23
7/10...

0

31 Aug 2026 21:24:01
Even if you actually rate this transfer season, none were done quick enough to integrate. Barcola has been dragged miles beyond what he should have. Plus, now he's had no preseason with his actual team, or had the chance to start adapting to AI tactics.

0

31 Aug 2026 21:54:57
We have just about the worst full backs in the league and no DM. We have brought beautiful furniture and amazing decorations, but the fecking roof is still leaking.
