This site is wild just now, people calling out the ITK's, arguing with each other over what some "reliable journalist" who is a mouth piece for the club is posting... on top of that the "FSG" want Slot to stay argument...
People need to be logical, look at the clues and be patient as it won't be long before we know who actually knows what they are talking about and who does not.
Slot has 13 months left on his contract, as shown many times he's not settled and the complete changes in formation etc for me show he has no clue how to change things....
I don't think this is a blip and it sounds like due to him being "Hughes and Edwards" man and winning the league last season they want to give him the remainder so he can close his account with Liverpool and they all save face.
I personally think Slot leaves at the end of the season, everything points to that and the journalists claiming otherwise are being told to by the club again to make it look like LFC never failed nor did Slot.... It's all ego.

Frode Kippers, my comment re Arsenal was an attempt at a light hearted play on words as I have 2 mates who are Arsenal supporters. While you are out and about today try and pick yourself up a sense of humour.

Eds or posters, I saw Redknapp (Jamie) doing some punditry rnd other day. I started watching football in the early 2000s, so I know he was captain and played for us. However, I have no recollection of him actually playing just him being injured.
I just wondered what was he like as a player?

{Ed001's Note - he was very good, but had a tendency to coast through games and did not work hard enough. Also had this annoying habit of dropping right back to stand on the toes of the centre-backs to take the ball off them. Why he couldn't just stand 5 or 10 yards further forward and let them pass it to them, where he would have been in a better position to create danger, I have no idea.}

Redknapp was the best sideways passing midfielder in Liverpool's history. If you wanted a player to pick the ball off our defenders, drop the shoulder a few times, then pass it 10 yards sideways or back, he was your man. I think he had a doctor's note that said he wasn't allowed to pass forward more than twice a game on medical grounds.

Bobby, Apparently Jordan Henderson had posters of Redknapp on his bedroom wall.
In fairness, so did I, but mine were Louise.

I'm not ITK but taking all the rumours together my take is Slot did offer to resign a few weeks ago as he wants to return home. The club have asked him to hold on till the end of the season as they don't want him to go, but if he still feels the same then they will come up with a mutually suitable package.
Like I said that just feels like what's happening. Not sure what others or the eds think.

17 Apr 2026 06:56:16
That would also fit with the sudden posts by the press stating the club's backing. They want him to see their public backing of him.
But, if he wants to be with his family, not sure it will work.

Sounds plausible.
If he actually wanted to stay and wasn't homesick, I'd be more inclined to believe the owners giving him more time to refresh the squad.
Assuming what some of the ITW's have posted regarding him popping home at any given opportunity, it would make sense he goes in the summer.
I get that getting someone in sooner rather than later would be better given there's a World Cup round the corner and a new manager would need all the time they can get to assess the squad, but maybe this is how they want to deal with it....
and maybe he changes his mind.
Personally, I don't want a manager who's not "all in" for our club and dedicated to get the very best of our amazing players and any new ones coming in. That's why I think he'll go. Nice guy and everything but just not committed enough by the looks of things.

17 Apr 2026 07:36:06
I agree, 2shoes, you can't be a manager of a club like ours and not be all in. I don't think he realised the size of the club or the pressure that comes with it before he took the job.
This summer is going to be interesting.

It was meant to say ITK's, by the way. Stupid fat fingers! 🙄

17 Apr 2026 08:09:15
Don't worry for that. 🤣
My concern is they convince him to stay. A few months in, things aren't going well and he decides he's off or we get rid, but at that time the managers we could have got are elsewhere and not moving.

Very dangerous going with a manager that's in the last 12 months of his contract.
Personally, it looks like he's lost most of the dressing room, looking at players' body language and effort levels. Slot, trying to lead a team that knows he has less than 12 months to go on his contract, would be a no win battle in my eyes.
17 Apr 2026 01:36:13
FYI
FSG do not remove managers before the end of season. Last time was with Rodgers. They do not do it at the Red Sox. They have had a few terrible seasons and waited till the end to fire the manager. I personally feel that Slot will be gone. FSG haven't all the sudden forgotten how to run winning sports franchises.
I also feel this is a one off blip of a year. Between injuries, waiting on Isak, Palace canceling Guehi, Salah and VVD's loss of form and finally Jota, there was a lot that went wrong this year. I'm not buying all the doom and gloom. Changes will be made. The team will compete for trophies again.

2 weeks ago, anyone who moaned was told we would still win the CL & FA Cup. Look how that turned out.
There's a hell of a lot of work to be done in the summer on and off the pitch to get us back on track.

17 Apr 2026 06:47:27
Why do fans give credit to FSG, "oh they know what they're doing". They've got a tonne of money and people assume they're competent. They've been called out many times by Red Sox fans for their approach and Liverpool fans. Liverpool fans give them a free pass because they "saved us", despite the fact there was another deal to buy us during those tumultuous days.
The fact they've written off another season, and they did this under Klopp, shows how negligent they are. I wouldn't trust them to do anything if they think the three amigos are suitable.

17 Apr 2026 08:42:57
FSG are good owners, Frode. There's no doubt about that. They've improved the club no end since the beginning of their tenure.
17 Apr 2026 00:26:23
There’s still hope as things stand, Arsenal are still on for the Quadrubottle.

17 Apr 2026 06:48:04
Why are you bothered about Arsenal? They're currently light years ahead of us.

They're not light years ahead of us at all.

Arsenal have quality depth in several positions, and have a clear way of playing, however uninspired that way of playing may be, and the depth gives them a way of varying that system slightly in accordance with the opposition or state of the game (though not drastically). Liverpool, on the other hand, don't appear to have any discernible shape or style (even though the 4-2-2-2 seems the best fit right now), partly due to disruptions because of injury or fitness. In terms of chance creation and ball progression though, Arsenal are hardly better than us and I would say actually substantially worse in open play, our biggest problem this year is that we consistently get in dangerous situations and positions but almost always fluff the final ball or make terrible decisions in the final third.
Both teams suffer greatly from risk averse managers, though they are risk averse in different ways - Arteta refuses to have his players play dangerous passes for fear of being done on the counter, and Slot refuses to have his players press aggressively in a committed and coordinated way most of the time, leading to a weak front press and huge gaps between the front line and the next line of defense.

2shoes, they are miles better than us at the minute, I wish I was in denial to be fair. It's 18 points, at what point do you admit they are way way better than us?

PB hits the nail on the head. We both suffer from risk-averse managers. Precisely, PB!! Arsenal should have the PL wrapped up in a bow by now! Should have.
16 Apr 2026 22:34:33
I hope the lads are up for Sunday because the blue fans I know are expecting us to get a good battering. They think we are scared to play them
My problem: we do not know what team will turn up and Slots tactics.

It's going to be a bloodbath for us. Slot took time off this week to go fannying about in London rather than prepare for the game:.

I think we'll win.

16 Apr 2026 23:40:41
That is just unbelievable, before a Merseyside derby and we still need to secure Champions League Football. We lack fitness, a fighting mentality, work rate. There is so much too work on.
Slot is not a competitor, there is no fire in his belly. He is a soft c@#k.It seems like losing doesn't hurt him. He doesn't feel it like the supporters do.

17 Apr 2026 00:58:46
We'll win all our remaining games.

17 Apr 2026 01:18:15
Ron is spot on, not only will we win all our remaining games and easily qualify for Champions League, we will then go on to win the World Cup this summer, Slot will prove everyone wrong, he'll grow his hair out in the style of Ruud Gullit circa 1988, Florian Musiala will assume his rightful role as Editor in Chief of this very site, and all will be right with the word.

It is becoming more evident that Slot's head is not in the game anymore, especially if reports that he wants to be with his family are true. Jetting home at each opportunity, or going for family outings whenever he can, shows that he is prioritising his family over the club.
Which is no fault in itself, but it is affecting the club's results and players, and he needs to go.

Getting away from Slot for a second, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but top, top praise to Everton and the unveiling of the plaque to the 97 at their new ground.
Genuine respect to the club and their fans - not only a permanent reminder of a horrible day but a nice show of respect between the clubs and fans that used to be commonplace back in the day.

Watch when we beat Everton, Florian will tell everyone how he's been right all season.

17 Apr 2026 07:17:11
Frode, there are things that Florian says that I don't agree with, but I'm not sure why you are giving him stick just because he posted how he is supporting us winning our next game.

Chewy, I'm not overly concerned about the club winning the World Cup. However, I'm all in on us winning the Eurovision Song Contest though.

Incredible that thinking that the club you support will beat Everton or win any game from here on out is now enough to have folks dubbing you a superfan and a Slot groupie.

Great shout WDW, it was a lovely thing for Everton to do.
Onto the match, I don't fancy our chances. We lack the intensity, passion and fitness for derby matches. Toothless up front, weak & slow in midfield, and a shambles at the back. I'm unsure of Everton's form of late, but I think we'll come back with a 'L'.
