He’s also got Utd to finish top 4 and Liverpool to finish 5/ 6th.
I don’t mind Neville but it’s clear he hates Liverpool and when it comes to us and Utd his judgement is very emotional.

The guy was a decent right-back but he is absolutely clueless when it comes to anything other than kicking a ball (or man) . Just look at guys managerial record. I can't imagine Man U could possibly be as bad as last season but I'm just intrigued to see if it will still be the owners fault when Man U don't live up to their expectations again this season.

I can't say he's right but it's not that laughable. Our midfield is not that strong and he said we worked wonders last season despite it not because of it. Imo, it's still unbalanced and Mac, Szob, Grav, Endo, Jones and possibly Elliott still have a lot to prove for us.
Mainoo is the same for them but has loads of potential and Fernandes is a good proven PL player. McTominay is honest enough without being top class.
I don't think there's a lot in it and both of us are well behind City and Arsenal in that department.
In our favour is that last summer's signings and the youngsters could well improve and the new manager could have a positive influence on them and the system they play.

Yeah Neville’s said some wild things but this isn’t a million miles off to be fair. I’m with Rigsby. I think he’s wrong but with the bias he is incapable of setting aside you can see why he’d say that, as I make it extremely tight.

So I’d say our midfields are pretty even. But the main difference is ours has more scope for improvement because Fernandez and Casemiro are both at the wrong end of their careers, even if Mainoo has great potential.
The difference when we play them is normally in defence and attack. Last season our attack should’ve buried them in all 3 games but we squandered our chances in every meeting and threw away points/ a cup run. Their fans have actually allowed EtH to gaslight them into thinking Martinez and Onana are good players when they’re quite clearly two huge parts of the problem. Not to mention Maguire, Evans, Shaw and Wan Bissaka. Then up top they have Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Mount etc.
Let’s be honest, their midfield isn’t the problem. Their problem is Dalot is the only good defender they have and their best forwards are all inconsistent u21’s. Signing De Ligt and Mazraoui probably isn’t going to change much either but Zirkzee looks like he’s a good signing to be fair.

I don’t mind him at all. Of course he might be a bit biased but then can you say Carragher isn’t? I think Neville has been quite complimentary of Liverpool in the Klopp era . Saying that on this point I think he’ss fill of the brown stuff and the best way to prove is the League standing at the end of the season ?.

He really doesn't like Liverpool but he will show them respect, begrudgingly.
I don't think he was talking up their midfield or slating ours but it was more about us maybe finishing below United because Klopp has gone.
He added that Klopp worked wonders with our new midfield that is still unproven.
It was more about the Klopp factor than the midfields and he was pressed on where he felt United were stronger than Liverpool. He may have even been clutching after being asked to back up his prediction.

They get that Ugarte in, along side Fernandez and Mainoo. It probably tips it into their favour to be honest.

The guy said the same thing last season when Endo was signed. We all know what happened and where they finished. The guy is such a meme and he is too much up his own backside to realise it.

Fernandez is good enough to get into our first XI. Mainoo I would say the same. The rest not so much. Grav is on form a better 6 than they have. Macca and Slob would walk into any United XI. So for me not a lot in it but I'll take ours over theirs. Anyway we'll find out a week Sunday.

Their first choice 3 midfielders are probably better than ours. More goals, more assists and they get 2 in our first 11. The reason they will finish below us in every other position we are far superior.

@mark If you are including Casemiro in that 3 first choice mf then Id disagree. Im not sure whether its because he is much slower than I thought but he seems to be constantly out of position and having to dive into tackles. Comparison wise Id put him about the same level as Endo nowadays - which sounds harsh but reading ManU forums it seems like most of them would be happy to sell him if they got the chance. Not sure about Mount - would you replace Szobo with him? I know Szobo's form after his injury last year wasnt great but Mount didn't exactly set the world alight either.

Casemiro is better than Endo and Grav has had a decent 45 minutes for us as a 6 against Ipswich.
Casemiro has achieved a lot in the game and Endo is not the most mobile either. Fernandes and Mainoo could play regularly for us instead of some of our players.
I hope that will change by the end of this season.

Jesus hows this even a debate. Anyone thinking they have a better midfield group than us need to give their head a wobble. Someone made a point that we didn't beat them last season but Everton also beat us an I wouldn't have a single player from their team over ours. Playing united is like a derby so they're more up for it in those games, it doesn't mean they're better in any way.

I actually quite like Neville, he's pretty passionate about various things outside of football and is also quite successful in his business dealings. I personally think he plays up on the anti Liverpool persona for media, it's why they always put Carragher and Neville together because they know it creates interest.
People should understand that entire industry is built on views and advertisement. without the likes of Neville stirring up the LFC fans, they wouldn't be doing their job.
