Hi all, any updates on Slot getting the boot?
Saw he’s popped back to Holland so not got a meeting with the powers that be.

22 Mar 2026 08:41:50
How the actual f*** can he go back to Holland when we are so bad, and there is so much to work on! What is this crap.

22 Mar 2026 08:47:29
Who's he meant to work on it with?

22 Mar 2026 08:48:12
The fact he decided to go back to the Netherlands after another humiliating defeat, rather than demand the players come in and make the players train on a Sunday, says as much as I need to know.

It's unprofessional and shows he isn't bothered by it. That attitude comes out in the insipid half arsed performances we see week in, week out, the team are a reflection of the coach.

22 Mar 2026 08:57:38
What players? International break?

22 Mar 2026 08:58:10
Victor,
Players leave for international duty, so it is pointless for them to come in.
That is one thing I noticed about the press conference on Friday. When he talked about the international break he was laughing and joking, then as soon as the talk turned to the game on Saturday, he was already making excuses up.

So, from Thursday I bet his head was already on going home.

22 Mar 2026 09:01:49
Rumours lately that he's been jetting off home to Holland midweek when we don't have games all throughout the season, giving the players 3 days off at a time.

That's why we're so unfit and have no patterns of play, etc. He should have been sacked months ago, and the neglect goes above him. I want Slot, Hughes and Edwards removed.

22 Mar 2026 09:03:53
He should be at Anfield and work on himself.

22 Mar 2026 09:03:54
Florian Musiala. Well, he could work on something at least with Jones, Gomez, Rio, Isak, Woodman, Morrison, Nyoni, etc. Salah and Ekitike might even stay behind given their recent injuries.

Maybe he could even work with some of the academy players, you know, like Klopp used to?

I wish I'd stuck a bet on that 2-1 defeat to Brighton that I predicted on Thursday! Just as we all expected, another false dawn.

Straight back to the miserable slow build up and non-existent press.

22 Mar 2026 09:04:22
Victor, come on now, don't embarrass yourself.

Take a breath. Slot can't hurt you unless you let him.

22 Mar 2026 09:21:37
Simple question, and no need for ifs, buts and maybes in your responses:

If Slot wins one of the remaining cups and obtains Champions League football next season (whether finishing Top 5 or winning the CL itself), and then goes on to win the Premier League next season, will you all who have been moaning about him put your hands up and admit you were wrong?

Just a question.

22 Mar 2026 09:30:17
Jonny, can you actually see Slot, with this team, his coaching methods & his playing style, winning another prem title?

No chance!

22 Mar 2026 09:36:11
Jonny No6, please can I get your dealer's number, cos those are some strong drugs and a few of us could do with those rn.

22 Mar 2026 09:41:39
Jonny, if Slot grows an elephant's trunk and uses it to cosh opposing players into a coma before each game so that we win the league, Cup and CL, would you be surprised? I wouldn't even if Jogo is top scorer in the league by May. Stranger things have happened. ? ?

22 Mar 2026 09:43:32
Mk, three out of the 7 you named, Rio, Trey and Morrison, have also been called up to international duty, so unless we're gonna have Jones, Gomez and Isak practicing their freekicks on Woodman a couple of days off with our next match two weeks away, it's hardly a crime.

22 Mar 2026 09:45:32
"Petethepool", another rose-tinted optimist, are you? What was VV on?

22 Mar 2026 09:55:09
I agree with many. While our spiralling EPL season still has a chance to get something (Champions League spot), I don't think the optics Mr Slot is portraying are appropriate.

Intl break, yes. Should he stay behind with the coaching team and those not travelled to work through things...

Hell yeah!

It's negligence and demonstrates unprofessional behaviour. When things are challenging, you roll your sleeves up and push through it.

22 Mar 2026 09:58:16
If what the Inks have said is true, and he’s leaving in the summer, then he’s going to see his family any chance he can get - his head won’t be in it 100%.

More trips back home and more days off for the players.

Edwards and Hughes are to blame for allowing this to happen.

Keeping him till the summer has resulted in a drop in standards from both the manager and the players.

We have been sleepwalking the last few months, and a change is needed.

22 Mar 2026 10:01:45
We do have coaches who take the training sessions though, don't we?
It's not just Slot running all the training sessions, is it?

I only ask because it seems that some people think the club hibernates when the head coach is not there.

I agree it's a poor look. Don't get me wrong, I'm not satisfied with it, and I'm very angry about yesterday, but the players don't need the head coach present to be training.

22 Mar 2026 10:24:34
Understand what you're saying, Ron, but it's like any job.

If you're required to be in the office working 5 days a week and your boss only comes in for 3, you'll start questioning why you don't get to do the same.

The extra days off this season look to have had an effect, and the standard of fitness has dropped.

The manager leads by example.

22 Mar 2026 10:27:19
It would help if the head coach is around, you know, to help coach. In a crisis, there's all hands on deck, not shooting off when he feels like.

22 Mar 2026 10:47:40
The club should fire him by text and post him any possessions left at Melwood/Anfield.

22 Mar 2026 10:52:05
No, you won't, Bobcat, because he's the boss. You just get on with your job. Seriously, lads, there's 3 senior outfield players and a 3rd choice goalie at Kirkby. Moan when there's a reason. This is not a reason.

{Ed001's Note - so he shouldn't be taking some time to work on other things? Such as having a look at the youth teams, as he has managed to ignore them since arriving, about time he bothered. Your defence of him is becoming embarrassing and just shows how little you understand of the job he is meant to do but can't be arsed because the lazy shite is always pissing off back to Holland. Get rid now.}

22 Mar 2026 10:59:51
No excuses just bin him he is become a monkey on our back save him traveling back from Holland.

22 Mar 2026 11:25:23
Surprised he doesn't just WFH (work from Holland) and manage the games remotely.

22 Mar 2026 11:31:15
The club would have known his situation when they hired him. They hired him anyway. Also, he's gone in the summer, isn't he? Would you be concerned about the youth teams when you're leaving a club in two months? Also, most of the better prospects, like Rio, Trey and Morrison, are away on international duty.

My defense is not embarrassing. I couldn't really give a toss at this stage, I only care about 5th. It's everyone's hunger to slate the guy that is embarrassing, has been for months.

{Ed001's Note - no it is not, he is being paid millions and failing miserably to do his job. The only thing that is embarrassing is some people are too intractable to understand that they are backing a man destroying the club they support. Slot has brought all the slating on himself with his inability to do the job, his arrogance and his lack of work ethic. There are expectations that come with a job like this - putting in time and effort is the first and foremost one and he is not even doing that. If you can't see that, then you are the most blinkered person on earth.}

22 Mar 2026 11:40:37
Maybe he hasn't gone back to Holland. One poster mentioned he was spotted in Manchester airport... plenty of baldies in Manchester... just saying.

22 Mar 2026 12:00:34
Red Reaper - The chap who spotted him took a photo with Slot and uploaded it to Facebook, wsn't a case of mistaken identity.

Florian - Your defence is not just embarrassing, it's moronic. At the very least he should be in with the rest of the coaching staff doing video analysis, trying to figure out what's going on, what's not working, how it could be combated and trying to find a solution to this mess. That's what Klopp would be doing, that's what Ferguson or Mourinho would be doing, that's what any top manager in this situation would be doing. We're teetering on the edge of CL qualification with rivals in better form hot on our heels and the "man in charge" has decided to take yet another week off. He can't even give us his full attention during the single most critical period of the season.

22 Mar 2026 12:08:10
If he isn't sacked during the break, I think it is safe to say we are stuck with him until the end of the season. This is surely the last chance where they will actually make the move that may have some sort of impact and keep us in CL / Top 5.

22 Mar 2026 12:08:54
Ed01 ? ? ?

We need a player review type thingy on slot and don't hold back.

Much love

{Ed001's Note - ok, I am trying to do the match review but the sites are too busy to get much done!}

22 Mar 2026 12:32:05
Florian, as one of the biggest pro Slot posters on the site, what makes you think that he is the right guy & should be afforded more time?
Have we seen any signs of improvement in the style of play or results except sporadically?
Yes we've brought in new players, but we were poor from February last year - Sunderland brought in 13 new players & their manager got them up to speed quickly.

Genuinely, I'm interested in what you're seeing that most don't.

22 Mar 2026 12:52:48
If Slot isn't gone this week, then it shows where the club is at in terms of accepting mediocrity.

We are only in the race for a CL place because everyone else is awful, but instead of competing with 2 or 3 teams, we have now allowed Brentford and Everton a look in.

Even Arsenal being 21 points in front of us, they haven't been phenomenal, and have lost 3 times and drawn 7.

Adding together, we've played Palace 3 times and lost 3 times.

We took 1 point from Wolves, Spurs and Brighton.

This doesn't get better with Slot in charge; it simply doesn't. The worst thing for our season was beating Gala, as it's an excuse to give him more time.

22 Mar 2026 12:54:33
Typo: VV is spot on.

22 Mar 2026 13:14:59
I heard a rumour that Florian Musiala is Arne Slot's travel agent.

22 Mar 2026 13:17:45
In the words of Fun Boy 3 and Bananarama 'It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it'. Winning a cup or two is fine, but it won't be achieved in the way we want to see it done. Slot's days are numbered.

22 Mar 2026 13:46:13
As expected, everyone flinging abuse, not one person is prepared to admit, if, and yes a very Big if, but if Slot was somehow able to turn this around and came back with the squad he deserves next season and won the title, not one person has said they would put their hands up and admit they were wrong.

Just goes to show the mindset.

The thing that I think is most worrying is the pure lack of empathy and this blind obnoxious behaviour from some of our own fanbase. Like we have a divine right to win everything.

Klopp wasn't given half the abuse Slot has had and as much as I love Klopp, he made some terrible decisions early on, was woeful the season after winning the league and yes his passion was there, but Slot shouldn't be chastised because of it.

Give him his squad of players and summer of no heartbreak and agony and let's see what he can do. By October, no improvement, then fair enough. But he deserves more respect than he is getting. It is actually a disgrace how quickly people have turned on him. I think if I was in his position, I would jump on a plane and see my family. He is a human being!!!!

{Ed001's Note - when has that idiotic nonsense ever even came up to be admitted? What a ridiculous post, making up complete turdwash to have a dig because you have not got a single solitary good point to make in defence of Slot.}

22 Mar 2026 13:54:34
ED01. A question for you to delay you having to watch the Brighton game again. Do you think a temporary, or new permanent, coach now will have time to regain some dignity for the rest of the season? Or has the damage been done and we should get rid of on principle?

{Ed001's Note - I am writing the review after one watch, I can't sit and watch that again!

There is plenty of time for a temporary coach to give us hope. It doesn't take that long to lift morale and get effort out of players, which is the main issue we face.}

22 Mar 2026 15:02:19
"Would you be concerned about the youth teams when you're leaving a club in two months?"

Yes, I absolutely would be concerned about the youth teams, whether I had a year or a day left on my contract. It's his job. He is being paid. Therefore, he should be giving it his all until the day he leaves.

By giving his all, he should be invested in every facet of the club to eke out anything he can that may give his team the edge.

You are enduring a part-time attitude. The club has had a diabolical season, and that is on the manager.

22 Mar 2026 14:39:03
Ed001 I think you are wasting your time with Florian I don't think he is a Liverpool fan how he backs Slot is like how I backed ten Hag to United fans because I wanted him to stay.
Week after week my feelings have changed for Slot from when he first came and now I don't care about he was the manager for number 20 he has now over taken Rodger's for me as my most hated manager ever to manger the club I could not stand Rodger's but at least he put the effort in Slot is just stealing a living at Liverpool and has no principles what's so ever otherwise he would walk but he just wants that £6m a year without doing the work.

He is a scumbag and only Hughes and Edwards are worse for letting this go on for over a year. In the press conference the other week when he once more gave the players days off so he could fly back home and he admitted last march he was struggling with the job and needed a break to be with his family and he has been on holiday ever since.

{Ed001's Note - scumbag is too far.}

22 Mar 2026 14:39:04
JonnyNo6, wheres the abuse pal? Seriously?? You can share your opinion no problem but when other people respond it's abuse! You sound like somebody's deranged ex-girlfriend mate.

First you demanded everybody respond to your question with "no ifs ands buts or maybes" which was hilariously moronic because your entire question was made up of nothing but ifs ands buts and maybes. How you expected anything other than the responses you got is beyond me.

Now you're saying that from the point at which his position came under question, we'll say November, he should be given 11 months and whatever squad he want's to turn it around?! He was given £450 million worth of top top talent and he's made a complete balls of it. Exactly what part of that says he deserves more time and another half a billion pound to invest? Genuinely interested to know.

And another question for you, what do we do when come October he still fails to prove himself? After we invest a billion quid over 2 years in new players? How exactly do you justify doubling down on a losing hand?

22 Mar 2026 14:42:18
@JonnyNo6,

Like you, I held back from criticizing Slot and felt we should do more to get behind him. However, for several weeks now I've just wanted him gone. The dire football alone is reason enough to want him gone. It's like Hodgson is back in charge. So even if he does win the Champions league, I still don't want him in charge next season, so I'm not going to admit I was wrong if he wins it. I probably was wrong to think we should give him more support.

How about you admit that perhaps you are wrong?

@Ed01, Don't blame you, I wouldn't want to watch half our matches again either!

22 Mar 2026 15:11:36
Jonny No6 sees no-one gave his unhinged hypothetical post a thumbs-up, so gives it another go.

22 Mar 2026 15:15:23
The training ground won't be empty. There'd be some players around, and he could use opportunities to have a closer look at players from the younger groups, like the u23 squad, and work with them.

There are analysts there he could be breaking down match tape with, to work on what went wrong and what needs improvement.

There are coaching staff that he could be making plans with.

No. Our part-time manager gets on the first plane out.

If the team was top of the table and firing on all fronts, then it's not a big deal.

But when the s*** has hit the fan and it's all going wrong, the optics of it are not at all good, and it's that of a coach who couldn't care less.

He should have been sacked straight after the Brighton game, and no amount of handwringing from the usual suspects will change that.

22 Mar 2026 15:04:40
No6 stop talking no2 Klopp did not have much control over the season after we won the league when he was not backed in that summer and we did not add another cb then we lost all are main cb for the season when we was looking like winning the league again till that Everton game.

Then Henderson and Fabinho went out injured. Yet with no cb we still got top 4 that season. If Pickford had not made that horrendous challenge on Virgil we would have still won the league that year because he was that good then he could have carried anyone by his side.

22 Mar 2026 15:27:06
If Slot remains next season, it's more likely the drop off in performance will continue. That's why the only people I know that want Slot to remain at LFC are Utd fans.

22 Mar 2026 15:35:18
I know LFC have been bad and Slot needs to go, but I don't agree with calling him or any future or past manager names.

Also, no offence to the ITKs, I can't see LFC sacking Slot with only 7 League games and with the next rounds of the Cup and CL to play.

22 Mar 2026 15:37:55
Florian, I completely respect you and your opinion - not here to challenge it at all, my only thought is I would not mind Mr Slot slipping off to Holland, as he does, if Liverpool played good football and was having a good season - but the optics are not good, and I really think he and the coaches should be hunkering down together in the intl break to figure this out.

Also, if he knows he's gone, he should still care about results and team performance. Our situation does not reflect well for his career, nor does his ignorance towards our youth players.

I know when things get challenging and extra work is needed in my job, I put in the extra hours to get things done, and done properly.

22 Mar 2026 16:04:07
Are you Arne in disguise, Johnny?

22 Mar 2026 16:15:27
The first team coach coming in to watch the youth teams practice and/or play would give those boys a huge shot of confidence and almost undoubtedly aid in their development. Astounding comment.

I can't imagine much hope is filtering down to them, knowing their peers in the first team squad hardly get a look in. The mental swing from him not giving a toss to actually giving one is huge.

22 Mar 2026 17:30:28
Personally, seeing what damage he's caused to the first team, it's probably for the best he stays away from the youth players.

22 Mar 2026 18:46:46
Johnny No6,
Slot will be in his last season next season.
If he doesn’t get an extension this summer (and it would be negligent to give him one), then I can’t see him staying next season.
Even if he does, he won’t get a big transfer kitty, so there won’t be big squad investment.

I think the writing is on the wall for him.

The players seem to sense it too, as they’re not putting in the required effort.

Mike Gordon needs to sort the situation out. We need a manager, not a head coach, and the manager sets out the targets and the player profile for the recruitment team to work on. Then the manager makes the final call.

We have to get recruitment right.

22 Mar 2026 19:13:17
There is literally no point discussing Slot as an issue with FM chaps. He's entrenched himself so much on the making excuses side of the fence that she can't back away from it. Just don't bother.
And, for whomever it was that said it, nonsense to suggest people wouldn't admit they were wrong. Everyone here supports the club and wanted Slot to do well and turn this round.

But, as the evidence mounted and mounted, it became very clear he either couldn't or wouldn't, hence the opposition to him staying. We don't want him out because we hate him (other than scumbag comment above, that's too far), we want him out to limit the damage we can all see is being done week by week.

22 Mar 2026 21:10:45
Why aren't WDW, Florian, Johnny No6 banned? Even the Eds are saying they're toxic? Looks like Thunderbird2 was cancelled. Thank god. So tired of these trolls. Clearly not LFC fans

22 Mar 2026 23:47:05
What would be the worst that could happen, bringing in an interim now? We lose out on top 4/5, we're heading there already, so why not go for it now?

23 Mar 2026 01:54:59
Pickfordsaurus, starting to think tehy're trolls myself, particularly Florian and Johnny, their posts and comments make absolutely no sense and seem specifically geared towards riling people up, especially FM.

Even people who don't think Slot deserves the sack don;t act like FM on here, they at least admit to shortcomings and are willing to discuss, but FM is so far beyond ignorant that heres just no way he's a LFC fan, you can't actually be that delusional and still be allowed wander the streets.
