Sheff Utd sack manager David Weir.

Shame for loanee Conor Coady that - he was getting a regular starting place under him and now may find that put under pressure with a new manager.

im sorry to say if he can't live with the pressure of sheff utd he won't make it at Liverpool. {Ed002's Note - Christ, what's he done to deserve a comment like this?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you know what it's like. When it comes to our own youngsters, unless they score 3 hat tricks a game and get 4 goal line clearances then they aren't good enough to play for LFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta agree with Irish on this one actually. Don't think there's anything wrong with saying that if pressure or competition for places gets to him at Sheffield, he more than likely isn't going to make it at Liverpool. Just cold hard truth.

ed I know I sounded a bit like having a dig at the player but I wasnt all I was stating in reference to pressure if a player can't handle the pressure at sheff utd whom lie in the third tier of english football they won't make it at Liverpool that goes for any player not just the player in question who seems to be coming on ok.

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid to say that it seems to me to be yet another cheap shot at a Liverpool player. But I take on board your comment. I assume from what you have said that you are very keen to see Joao Carlos Teixeira moved on as soon as possible after he failed to make it at Brentford?}

sorry ed but I think 1 of the eds cleared that 1 up the other day that joao had injury problems that have set him back a bit nobody mentioned not being good enough r not being able to handle competition. but that's a good example you put up there with joao.

{Ed002's Note - He was injured last season not this. He was sent back to Liverpool because he was not ready for the rough and tough of the Championship. So it is indeed a good example.}

Mountain and molehills, I made a comment on what Tommy Irish Red said in the early hours last night and I don't see it here. So i'll make another one.

Tommy Irish Red didn't comment on Coady's ability, only that ''IF'' Coady is struggling to handle pressure for places at Sheff Utd then in all likelihood he'll struggle to handle the pressure of competition for places at Liverpool. I think that is a very fair parallel to draw upon. Tommy didn't slag Coady off as a player or as a human, it wasn't a slight against the lad. Just an obvious parallel. {Ed002's Note - He has explained himself since then and it is clear that Joao Carlos Teixeira being sent back because he was not ready for the rigours of the game rather than because of some injury puts him in o the same category. There is another stream of messages adding Alberto in to that group as well. I remain astonished whilst others seem to be grasping at straws.}

I agree with tommy Irish red as well. Posters like exotiva can't be bothered to understand posts but just agree to the Eds reply. I'd advise you exotiva to have an opinion of your own and not be an 'Eds man'.

Anyone seen how Adorjan is getting on, on his loan?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Transfermarkt have the best data I can find on Adorjan, he's not played too much to be truthful, but he has popped up with two games, I think he's played about 480 minutes, 228 minutes coming in the Dutch League (Eredivisie) where he got his two goals, but he's also scored for the u21 Hungarian team twice in three matches in their qualifiers.

It still surprises me that he's only 20 years old. It's seems like an age he's been popping up in the reserves creating chances and providing assists game in and game out. Good luck Adorjan!

I take it the player profiles has died a death {Ed002's Note - You need to ask there rather than here, but the Eds that were doing it do not seem to have been around recently. The Eds that are left have no interest in describing hairdos and tattoos that the kids playing football today have.}

2 internationals for Stevie and Lucas back in the Brazil squad ( a lot of travelling ) probably a good thing Allen is back for the Newcastle game.
Henderson should be fresh also.

Hi Liverpool fans, it international time so on that theme I would like your thoughts on encourageing terms to back English player by suggesting

That any team that starts with 5 or more English players for 35 or more games over a season receive a 5 point bonus at the end of the season.

Making taking a chance on young English talent more appealing but not compulsory, if a club feels its worth 5 points to field 7 or more overseas players then so be it.

Just an idea that might help our national team and would like your thoughts please? Oh and go easy on me it really is just an idea :-)

The FA are coming at this from the wrong angle by trying to force BPL clubs to field English players. Instead the FA should use St George's park to introduce better training regimes and involve traveling across the world and viewing set ups of the Barcelona and other European clubs.

The Barcelona academy I was meant to put.

Fair point mate and encouraging futsal ( I think its called that) is long over due as it seems all top players from abroad grew up with it. Carrying on for another 20 years hoping for the best can't do the game any good in this country that's for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

Make all substitutes have to be foreign off english on

Agree0 Disagree0

It's the most stupid idea ever giving points bonus never happened need to bring them up better its there own fault

Agree0 Disagree0

England only need to put managers that follow the same philosophy as BR in charge of the under 21's and national team. There is enough good talent in this country.
If only it was all managed and coached well, we might start to see some progress.
The FA are like a fossil and poor Roy is the Dinasour

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play Dezy

the Fowlers, Gerrard's and Carraghers are out there and more but we may never know them.
It maybe a stupid idea lots of people seem to think so and reading some of their posts I too have my doubts about my own sanity In coming up with it, but if we all have an idea then some ones will be great and we might get to have night in early July some year to see a celebration like no other in this country

Agree0 Disagree0

We have to learn from the best countries in Europe and what they have done over the past 10 years.

Remember spain of the past, a bit like us, good players always failing at major tournaments.

The B team IMO would give youngsters a better start than loans

Germany, humbled by Emile Heskey in the rout. Made the changes to the youth system when they realised how far they had fallen.

Gimmicks won't work, the money needs to be invested at the bottom at the very grass routes.

Clubs should be a blue print that needs to be followed for cash to be injected into the club by the FA and the premiership.

The reserve and U21's leagues need to mean something

For me the idea of teams having a 'secunda' division is a fantastic idea. Spain have done it for years with teams being allowed a 'B' team in competitive football.
Feeder clubs are superb for this. Imagine if Liverpool struck a deal with Tranmere by which we sent players there to learn their trade and play competitive football.
I also believe there should be a limit. Perhaps something along the lines of atleast 15 of the 25 man squad has to be British. That still allows for 10 foreign stars but means clubs will focus more on training their English talent.
Grass roots progression also needs sorting. Like Wilshere said, were known for hard tackling. As Englishmen were still amazed when Berbatov takes a lobbed pass to ground with precision and ease because were used to watching even our best struggle to tame a pass with pace. We need to coach technical ability not simply physicality.

Its a long hard struggle and I think the EPL have added further hardship by denying a place on Dyke's team, which essentially means they can completely ignore any advice they get given by the investigation. {Ed002's Note - Once there is a breakaway I expect this will become viable as I have explained before.}

Is no-one aware that we live in the European Union which means free movement of workers whatever their profession? Any English player that is good enough will progress! Let's not blame 'Johnny Foreigner" for the fact that some English players are not good enough.

We need to stop regulating the nationalities of players on the pitch for clubs, it's ridiculous and detrimental. We will end up with a crap league again if we let football politicians force anything. Let them keep the candy and we keep are club and are dignity. The best players play, if they are English like Carra and Gerrard have shown, then sweet, if not then I won't cry. Liverpool are higher by far in my priorities before I give a crap about this London England dream team.
