Hello ed1 good day for us today. wasnt as good for the ticker tho! A questio for u if u had time to answer. By all accounts Allison 2-3 weeks away from being back with kelleher playing v well and if he continues to play well would u take Allison straight back in? Don't think there much doubt that Ali better goalie at this minute in time but if he 3 weeks away there only 4/ 5 league games left, do we risk him going in2 must win games and him rusty? He will have been out a fair while at that stage and goalkeeper ain't a position to play urself into gently.

{Ed001's Note - you would need to see him in training to decide mate. It should give you an idea of how rusty he is. Sadly for Kelleher, a fit and firing Alisson walks into any team in the world.}

I hope kelleher goes to the likes if celtic in the summer. Deserves his opportunity now and it's a great club especially for the Irish man.

Are you mad man? I don’t want him to go anywhere, give him a massive contract and make promises that when Alison leaves he be number 1. Because he is undoubtedly the best number 2 with genuine potential to take over as a number 1 in the world. In all the clubs outside the top 6, he’d already be number 1. He’s a proper talent.

Do I sound crazy thinking Allison should be sold for crazy money? I think Kelleher has proved he is a number 1. And clearly reinvest like they did with Coutinho.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Sadly, that is the case Ed01.

Alisson is an absolute beast. No one is keeping him out of the team.

31 Mar 2024 23:55:28
Agreed hoody but it depends on how long he wants to sit on the sidelines, if he wanted to leave it'd be bad for us but understandable and the best thing for him. I think somewhere like Newcastle would be perfect for the lad. I hope to Christ he goes nowhere but I think he will in the summer. How long is a piece of string, you know? their careers don't last long as it is, he'll want to be a starter somewhere I think.

I hope Kelleher stays, he’s a good keeper. We won’t find a better number 2.

I get Ali is a better keeper but one of his supposed strengths is his foot control and passing out from the back, and hate to say it but kelleher gives me far less heart attacks than Ali.

01 Apr 2024 00:50:26
Totally agree. I've said the same thing on this forum a few times.

01 Apr 2024 01:17:50
420FL, Did I read that right? you want us to sell Alisson? what on earth are you on! You do sound crazy. He's the most important player in our squad mate lol it'd be suicide getting rid, just because Kelleher has had a good run, doesn't make him Alissons level. Nowhere near.

01 Apr 2024 01:50:57
Makes sense to me - the best goalkeeper in the world, relatively young for a world class keeper, by far the best goalkeeper at Liverpool in my lifetime, still not at the peak of his potential - sounds about right that we get rid. Onwards and downwards as they don’t say.

01 Apr 2024 01:54:47
Let me get this right. We are saying that we want to sell the best keeper in the world right now just so our No.2 keeper stays with us and gets regular game time? Well, all I can say is that I'm glad that none of us are in a position to make decisions at the club.

01 Apr 2024 09:17:54
Kelleher has done well, but he is miles away from Alisson’s level, to sell him would be insanity.

01 Apr 2024 11:51:25
How on earth do Celtic afford Kelleher? It's a bit insulting to him to think that's his level.

I'd sell him to a mid-table or below Premier League team. £20m and a buy-back clause of £30-35m. Not those stupidly high buy-back clauses like City do.

{Ed001's Note - is it likely that he will ever come back? I think it is more likely Pitaluga surpasses him as a player and is a more probable long term replacement for Alisson.}

01 Apr 2024 15:39:11
The reports I've read about Pitaluga on loan have been awful, Ed. I get he's only 20 and for a goalkeeper he's got a lot of growing to do physically (getting stronger) and mentally. But I don't know if we can hang our hat on him right now if he's currently failing in the League of Ireland. Let's see where his development path takes him.

What would you do with him next season, Ed? Try him as a number 2, keep him in the U23s or loan him out again? Jaros seems more ready to be a number 2. And if Pitaluga was to go out on loan, what level could he get in at? He surety can't expect to get in at a higher level after this season. Would that level even be productive compared with keeping him indoors working with Achterberg and Taffarel everyday and playing him at U23 level?

{Ed001's Note - he needs to play, it is experience he needs and he needs to be kept close.}

Similar to the Macc Town arrangement?
