Just some perspective.
When Klopp came in nobody really knew If he could take us back to challenging for the league, let alone get to multiple Champions league finals etc, but he did and with some of the bravest attacking football we've seen for many a year.

Now whether it was going to be leaked out or not I was against the announcement about him leaving, I personally thought it would derail us eventually and maybe that pressures showing now, but, let's not forget the ride he's given us, Im ready for a new man in and new tactics after these last few games, I think we're genuinely ready for it, but let's see off a man whose attached his whole being to the city with fond memories and decorum.

I've been through my dad dying, a marriage break up and some mental health issues all in the space of 9 months and this site (whether I like a moan or not) has been a little saviour for me, especially in the live chat right throughout it all. I've followed this site for a lot of years and I know how people really feel about Jurgen Klopp, he's one of us, a man of the people and a true humanitarian, a manager who we needed who would understand the club, the supporters and the city, and he did, with flying colours.

He looks tired and frustrated to me and I know myself that when the dark clouds descend its hard to stave them off, but much like I know with my own issues the support of this fanbase can give you rays of sunlight you never thought were there.

6 games, let's see him off and thank him for the good times, win lose or draw, cause let's face it, its been one hell of a ride

Nice post Rum Lad and brave of you to share your struggles. It's different for everybody of course but 5 years ago I lost my mum, a close friend and my wife got diagnosed with cancer within a year.

I'll be captain obvious here but eating well and exercising helped me a tonne. Get the body in shape and somehow the mind starts to follow. I also told my work I was struggling and that was the second best thing I did as they were very understanding and helped out a lot.

You can think you re mentally tough but when the crap hits the fan in life it gets to absolutely everybody. No one is immune. So I hear you big time buddy.

Hang in there and life turns a corner. Of course you'll never stop missing your loved ones but we bought our first house and just finished renovation, wife is approaching five years all clear, our kids are thriving. The clouds have cleared and I ve become a super positive person I naturally am. I ll never take my mental health for granted ever again though so I do my best to look after it and do things I enjoy as much as possible. Like write crazy posts on here. It will turn for you buddy. I know it.

As for Klopp. He is an absolute legend for us all. Nothing he could do from here on out could tarnish his legacy. It is well and truly cemented.

Great post and great poster Rum.

{Ed025's Note - i agree JK, one of the best posts i have ever read on here mate..

I agree with the sentiment Rum but I don’t agree with you saying the announcement of him leaving is why we’ve lost a couple of games.

It’s football and teams go through poor spells of form. It’s more likely it’s getting to the end of the season and glory is in sight and they’ve tightened up a bit. That’s all it takes.

I’m getting slightly annoyed with people saying Klopp’s tenure might end in a whimper. It already hasn’t! He’s given us one last title challenge before he goes, we are 2 points off with 6 games to go. I don’t know about anyone else but before he arrived I’d forgotten what a title challenge looked like. We had a freak season in 2014 where we were close buts that was about it since 1990!

Now we all seem to take it for granted and get annoyed and start blaming everyone down to the tea lady if we don’t win it! Get a grip people!

Klopp has been immense and we have been so, so fortunate to have him. I will be eternally grateful to Klopp for putting us back to the top of the game because before he arrived we were bang average and going backwards.

Didn’t you blame match going fans the other day.

Practice what you preach.

And if that slightly annoys you some more then who cares posters aren’t here to tip toe around you.

An excellent post that mate.

“Practice what you preach” never was a truer old chestnut more accurate.

Great post Rum mate. And sorry to hear you had to go through all of that within such a short space of time.

20 Apr 2024 04:59:19
Great post rum, glad to hear you’re getting there. Ynwa.

20 Apr 2024 06:18:04
Excellent post Red Rum and sorry for all you are going through. Klopp’s leaving us for a well deserved rest. He’s not looked the same for a while but with everything he’s given to us it’s hardly a surprise. I think we’re all going to miss him a lot.

Great post mate. Awful to hear how much you’ve been tested. Keep going mate, ynwa.

Excellent post Rum. puts things into perspective. I agree I think we're all ready for a new manager n change of play. Klopps been great, loves the city, club fans etc . But he does look worn out. hopefully a year out will refresh him . in his life n his football., ( hope we hammer his new team tho ha )

Keep your chin up Rum ?? I agree with the lot.

This site will keep you busy, I’ll argue with you all summer about we got the wrong manager and signed the wrong players don’t worry about that mate.

Great post rum pal, chin up as always mate. He’s one of us…. love it buddy.

Why are we looking to apportion blame for us being the second or third best team in the country?
It's been a good season to be where we are at this stage.

'If you get your ego in your way, you will only look to other people and circumstances to blame'.

A nice post Rummy. Sometimes you just need to reflect on what makes you happy and if its discussing a football match on a live chat with people you have one common interest in, then I am glad that it gives you a satisfying feeling to keep engaging and offering your opinions on the club we love.

I remember yrs ago, going in the old Kop standing with 7 others, mainly family members. My Uncle took me to the game with my brother, a family friend and my cousins, (because my dad was a blue and wouldn't be found dead in the place. )

Through the years our party started to dwindle, because of a variety of reasons but mostly the deaths of My Uncle and then my brother, until it was just me, sitting on my own, but still discussing the game with a new group of people and instead of hearing my Uncle telling me that Roger Hunt was the greatest he saw and how he would have never of missed a chance that Tosh, Kenny or Rush had just spurned. I now had fat Eddie behind me shouting abuse at Fernando Morientes. Telling everybody that Rush would have buried that!

I gave my season ticket up when my sons were at an age to go and I couldn't afford the price for 3 of them. I have taken my lads to a lot of games and have turned into my Uncle, by telling my lads how Dalglish would of made Darwin a 30 goal a season striker, or how Souness and Mcmahon would have been sent off in the first 5 minutes with that referee or VAR.

I am sure in the future my lads will be having discussions with their friends and children about the game and reminiscing about players gone by.
Sites like this are fantastic for bringing people together even if it brings out the Fat Eddie in all of us at times.
I wish you all the best Rummy and that goes to everyone who suffers with loss of a loved one.
