Ed, do you think that joe cole being at anfield yesterday signing shirts shoes that he is staying? The club wouldn't send someone to sign next seasons shirt if he wasn't going to be here would they? {Ed001's Note - every player has certain contractual obligations which involves doing signing sessions etc. Though to be fair, from what I have been told of Joe Cole he would probably be happy to do them anyway. But it means nothing with regards to his future at the club.}

13 May 2011 23:44:01
What about taarabt class player what do you think ed {Ed001's Note - not in the slightest, he is a spoilt brat who refuses to pass the ball to his team mates.}

Not a rumour but please put on rumours page, i was intrigued all this talk of ashley young and thought i would take a quick look at the aston villa rumours page to see what their fans thought of the situation and where he would end up when i found this, i have copy and paste straight from their page, look at the price for young. . . . honestly i laughed so much i think i might have peed a little. . . . .

On what planet is Ashley Young coming to Liverpool for 27m ? Can I sell Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic for 20m each there ?

I'm more interested in how they'd sell friedel for 2.5m when his contract runs out this summer. . And HESKEY?!?!?! HESKEY?!?!?!?!

13 May 2011 23:11:43
Does anyone else think that Milan Baros has had a haircut, come back to LFC and called himself Maxi Rodriguez?

I'm in Spain at the moment and the other day I saw Damien Comolli across the road. . we had a good chat about targets for the Summer. . . . . .
ME; "Damien! !. . .Day! !. . . . DAMO! ! !"
DM; ". Huh!?"
ME; ". . So, what brings you to Spain?"
DM; ". . .ER, . . . .I'm on me hols mate"
ME; ". . .Oh yeah. .of course. . .Don't worry Dame, I can keep me gob shut. . . . So you're lookin' at Spanish boys, eh?"
DM; ". . . . WHAT! ??"
ME; "Young Spanish talent ?. . . .you want width! "
DM; "Who the f% k are you?! "
ME; ". . or maybe you're looking youngsters to score every time?"
DM; "What the f. . ! "
ME; "Being cagey, eh?. . . .The Liverpool way! Like it. But seriously, is it Mata?"
DM; "Does what matter Dickhead?"
ME; "Nice one Damo. . I'll take that as a yes. Are you looking to bed-in Spanish youth at the back?"
DM; "Are you looking to be eating paella puree through a friggin' tube?"
ME; "Admire the caginess Commy but I think I've got a right to know. . . .it's no secret you've been sent out to look for some young foreign lads who'll develop naturally, give value for money and be popular in the dressing-room! "
I had so much more to ask him but it's difficult when you're in a headlock!(. .strong grip for a Froggie)
I was due home yesterday but the Spanish authorities have prevented me leaving 'cos they've charged me with accusing some bloke from England of being a communist and a pimp for a paedophile-ring. Obviously mistaken identity. . .the lengths they'll go to to keep you spending, eh?
It's a pity 'cos I was sat next to Sammy Lee on the plane over here and he told me. . .oh, hang on. Gotta go, I've only paid for an hour on the internet and I've run out of money (pity. .I've got an exclusive on Sergio Aguero I got from Rafa Benitez in Shankley's Bar last Wednesday night)

Ed002 is a legend!

13 May 2011 22:15:10
Theres alot of talk about wingers and so on, very much players to fit into a style of play reminiscent of the Liverpool of old. With that in mind, we still lack a real enforcer in the middle, a Souness/ Mcmahon type character. Lee Catermoll in my opinion would be a great acquisition. He reminds me very much of Roy Keane and I think he would be integral to the rebuilding programme.

13 May 2011 22:08:27
Can anybody clarify if we got Joe Cole and Milan Janovic on a free transfer and then dedide to sell them on this summer? Do we have to pay their previous employers some sort of commision? {Ed001's Note - no, we have to pay up the remainder of their signing fee though.}

13 May 2011 21:21:38
Just a quick one for ed 1, how many of the youngsters are ready for the step up to the first team next season , names aswell ed if you get a chance, cheers. stan the red ynwa {Ed001's Note - other than those already with first team experience I would say only Coady, Suso and Sterling are ready for regular first team appearances. There are a few others that might possibly be capable, Wisdom, Silva and the lad who literally plays everywhere for the stiffs but whose name has completely left my mind would definitely be potentially ready. There are a couple of others I am sure that have slipped my mind, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.}

When we batter the spud's on sunday will that mean that we will get a new third kit, aswell as the classy second one that i treated myself to today?

Who does King Kenny look at at anfield every time we score. He always cheers and looks up to someone in the crowd.

Anyone know ?

13 May 2011 21:07:11
{Ed001's Note - I have noticed him sleeping even when he is deep, he has had little to no training in defensive positioning though to be fair. Not in the centre anyway, he has always had a lot of freedom to roam and get forward while other players covered the space. I still think he is at his best bursting forward and wouldn't really want to limit him.}

Where do you think he should play then Ed01? I think in games that we will get majority of possession he can play in CM with Lucas (home games really). But tough away games play Lucas & Sissoko/ Spearing CM with Gerrard RM or in the hole. But this is just me thinking in terms of a 4411/ 442 - he could play in a 3 man midfield of him, Lucas & Sissoko/ Spearing/ Meireles.

Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - this is the problem, do you limit him to fit into the system or fit the system around him and so limit others? We have played so well without him that I think time has come for him to fit into their system, rather than the other players adapting to suit him. So train him up to revert back to how he was before he was coached - a central midfielder who would burst forward into the box.}

Or I think he would also do the a job that Alonso used to do for us, which is to spray effective balls all over the pitch. Gerrard is excellent at that.

Its going to be funny when the new players are signed and turn out to be different to the "main" targets people have been hammering that change every week depending on the bulls**t that is typed up on the givemefootball, tribal fancast bollox sites. Accurate rumours will not leak out of anfield, agents or selling clubs until the window opens, stop hopping on the s**t train and typing repetative s**t, your more likley to be accurate just having a calculated guess yourself based on whos been watched and how they would fit into the team - playing and morale, club finances, the liverpool way etc. Come on give us some interesting possibilities based on substance rather than s**te, there are lot of you out there that know the club more than these s**t writers on the b*ll*x websites, so have a think and detail on the banter page.

Just a quick Question, when does the Transfer window open? And ed(s) which striker(s) have been shortlisted/ are being looked at? thanks. YNWA {Ed001's Note - the domestic transfer window opens when the season finishes and the international one opens July 1st.}

6 new faces will arrive in the summer. CB is a prioraty and the front runners are sacko (16m) and richards (20m) purely becase kenny likes there versatility. for the LB position, keeny wants bains but realises it may be difficult to persuade everton to sell, comolli prefers cissoko. with the emergence of spearing and shelvey, a new CM will not be brought. 3 wingers to arrive. young (14m) mata (21m) and jarvis (7m). the final transfer will be that of a CF- don't expect a big money signing, someone who will happily play a bit part. klose is being looked at as he is a free agent. defoe (12m) odemwingie (8m) and adebayor (15m) and others all being looked at. kenny will revert to an old school 4-4-2 formation.

I'd just like to refer to my post a week or 2 ago. It said Dalglish to sign a 3 or 5 year deal, Reina to stay after originally looking at moving on. 2 out of 2. The last part was Clichy is nailed on to sign.

I really do not understand why people want to keep Maxi, he has had a couple of good games, but that is it in 18 months, when he played against Chelsea, he was rubbish. He is not the standard of player we need to be challenging for the PL. Ross
-
Ross, Maxi joined us in Jan 2010. But you raise the issue of at what point do you disregard the form of a player under Woy (and rafa) and focus purely on the consistency of their current form. Maxi's a tough one as hattricks against a couple of mid-tier teams is hardly a guarantee of long(erm quality, but those are the chancews he's had and he's taken the. There's not much more he can do, and he's done it well. I think he'll stay in the immediate term.

13 May 2011 19:20:50
Disagree with maxi comment, I like u questioned his place at our club m8 but alot has 2 b said about Kk & SC in his Renaissance & a system suited to his game, an international player of pedigree. We need players to come in, with injuries & suspensions, & to the job he has done. He dint play 4 a month but didn't sulk & showed a gr8 attitude. After Sunday it's likely we will b fighting on 4 fronts.

LFC's planned business (just received email from inside club)

OUT-

Cole 6.8 mill- QPR/ Spurs
Jovanovic 4.1 mill- various clubs interested, most likely destination is Germany
Poulsen- 1.9 mill -K benhavn
El Zhar- 380k AC Ajaccio
Jones-part ex- Middlesbrough
Degen 625k Koln

gross income- £13.18 mill

IN-

Sakho 12 mill plus add ons to 16.8 mill
Payet 9 mill plus add ons to 13.6
marveaux free
Jarvis 4.4 mill
Mata 21.6 mill

gross expenditure £47 mill

Nothing Guarenteed, just a realistic objective set within the club. Left back position still undecided (hence sakho is a priority so CB and LB covered regardless). Clichy (injury prone), Baines (Politics), Enrique(Price vs Value) and Marcelo (Availability depends on R Madrid's acquisitions) are targets, with stumbling blocks for them all in brackets.

I'd appreciate an Ed's opinion as its a respected outside opinion. Cheers {Ed002's Note - Well hey you got it from inside the club. Nailed on.}

Ed002, Your sarcasm suggests you must 've been living in England for a very long time, I am sure you would 've appreciated the accuracy of the original poster with figures including fractions. I am guessing he/ she works in finance/ or maybe in school.
To the original poster thanks for the inside information but your sauce did not explain who are we exchanging Jones with?? which player from Middlesbrough are we getting? or did I miss it?
Bless.

My dream signing for use would be to boot comolli and his French influence and make rafa the director of football we all know he bought awful players but he did his best with the money we had at the time, he knew what players he wanted; villa, silva that type of world beating team players. With the money now available he could pick us out some great players, Ed do you agree.

KopEndDannyLFC {Ed001's Note - no, not in the slightest, Rafa would want full control and would meddle in politics. I like Rafa as a man, but I don't want him involved again with running the club.}

Nice to see someone being optimistic for a change.

Yeah Seriously come on. .we are only LFC and we cannot compete for top players? Is that what you meant? You really do know how to be the bearer of bad news. .I know its friday 13th but seriously come on. .Young deal is almost done for LFC. .so much for signing for Man Utd then. I mean seriously, come on. .

??????????????

Being optomistic or living in the real world???????????

yes, we are LFC, but players look at the now not the future, sorry to be the BEARER OF BAD NEWS, but wake up! ! ! ! !

Where is your proof of The Young deal being almost done?? He wants to go to UTD. . Thought we kept everything behind closed doors until deals would be done! !

So unless you are KK himself, stop making up c**p. .

oh! ! you might be Ashley Young :) :) :)

I think we will get 5/ 6 players in summer, there will be more players leaving than coming in.
next season we will get into the top 4 and then we will invest again.
my feelings are a left winger, left defender, holding midfielder, center backand a striker.
left wing we havent got.
left back we havent got.
holding midfielder to replace poulsen.
attacking midfielder
center back to replace soto.
striker to replace ngog.
next season we will see coady getting some minutes he has been on the bench a few times.
jonjo has the trust of kenny, he brings him on before cole.
if cole leaves he will be replaced.

defenders
flanagan kelly johnson cara skrtl agger 2 new players

midfielders
gerrard meirelles lucas spearing shelvey maxi 2 new player

attack
kuyt suarez caroll 2 new players.

like kenny said we need to get the right players in, we are already getting better and better.
get rid of
el zhar
degen
darby
aurelio
poulsen
aqua
ngog
konch
soto
these players are not lfc level.with the money you can get 2 players in the others from the summer budget.
next season will be the best in many years.

Before Woy was given the tic tac, in n interview he said the club needed a good overhaul of playing staff, well in my opinion it just shows how much out of his depth he actually was, What Kenny has one is nothing short of a miracle with the same said players.
My question is Ed's how deep does KK have to trim this squad and bring in more players.
Rafas downfall was not bing abe o bring in top drawer players due too HandG poor running, Do you think if Rafa had this backing could he of taken us to the next level?

13 May 2011 18:05:46
To the lad in the rumours section, how do you know he is going to man united and not liverpool then whats your source? because he has today opened the door to a switch to either club! and just because a player says he wants to join a club doesn't mean he will charlie adam wanted to join us in january and was within hours of signing for tottenham soo that means nothing! i think liverpool will sign either ashley young, juan mata or adam johnson personally i would prefer johnson what do you think ed?

Afternoon all I just wanted to post something that I lifted of the general rumours page yesterday, i just thought it was hilarious!
"Wayne Bridge and Nedum Onuoha will not return to Eastlands, Bridge may be used as a paperweight for Leighton Baines."

A few days ago I had asked my son if there were any highly rated youngsters who would come to liverpool on the cheap and he had checked his FIFA 11 and gave me a list. .

Manoel-athletic paranese brazil 20 cb
Michael almeback-oreboro Sweden 22 cb
Mario goetze-Dortmund Germany 18 cam
Christian eriksen-Ajax Denmark 18 cam

I can only remember these but I know there are a few more but anyway he had told me that the valuation of the 2 cb would be less than 6 million and the 2 youngsters would 30-35 million for the pair

Ed if you know anything of the two cb plz tell me if not can you plz search some info or stats on them keep up the good work

p.s.and put some info on the other two below the cb info plz thank you

Just wondering ed do you think we will add a striker in the summer? If so who's the most likely to arrive? Also reports in France say that mavinga could be offered as part of a gervinho deal {Ed002's Note - There is no way we can get suckered in to any most likely arguments.}

13 May 2011 17:40:04
Not a rumour, but want to see what you think

We've been linked with the same players over and over so there must be a possibility:

Young - great signing but fear the mancs will beat us
Adam -not sure, has been poor since being linked to us in Jan
Clichy - although it seems strange, he doesn't seem happy at arsenal, would be ideal
Cahill - would be a great signing .solid, young and english
Samba - although we're not often linked with him I think he would be a great signing if cahill is going elsewhere
What players would you like to see in?

13 May 2011 17:37:59
I really hope young doesn't sign he is not good enough i hope he can "grace" the mancs "wonderful" pitch

13 May 2011 16:59:07
No need to worry about bucket loads of signings, we have these guys coming through:

Flanagan - Kelly - Wilson - Robinson
Coady -Spearing
Shelvey
Sterling - Pacheco - Suso

We just 3-4 quality signings of the Coentrao, Mata & Adam Johnson calibre to add to the already decent squad and we'll be fine for the next few years while we blood these top class kids.

Also, Cudicini as a back up keeper? Looks like he'll be available in the summer.

-Shane.

Bob the Red i agree with what you have said, it is going to be a rebuilding period
and expectations shouldnt be put to high,
but surely a champions league postion can't be ruled out, one of the problems i can see is trying to sell the mediocre players who are on very high wages
without naming them we know who they are, but you are right the future looks a lot more rosey than it did 12 months ago,
and i havnt had any suicidal thoughts since the return of the king

LFC can't compete for top players? so we havent signed suarez! 4 top players in the summer. . young, mata, a good left back and a good centre back maybe a decent striker and we'll be laffin!

13 May 2011 16:01:36
Not a rumour as such, more to enlighten on a player linked with us.As a Liverpool fan who also has held a Motherwell season ticket in the past and still goes to occasional matches I can say quite categorically that Chris Humphrey is not good enough for Liverpool, even as a squad player we could pick up at a bargain basement price. Plenty of pace but little technical ability and poor end product. Kenny, steer clear!

13 May 2011 15:14:10
Real Madrid have turned down an offer of 30m euros (£26.4m) from Juventus for French striker Karim Benzema. (La Gazzetta dello Sport) Can't see there being any point in paying over that? I'd say there's no deal in place for him with LFC unfortunately.

I thought they didn't have any money- well not enough to meet Aqua's asking price anyway.

Adam joining spurs next season. Mccarthy to join liverpool in summer. Mata and Young, maybe another winger, a left back and Long to be only other signings.

Thats a bit of a LONG shot isn't it- Shane Long is a journeyman who is nowhere near as good enough for this club

Afternoon all I just wanted to post something that I lifted of the general rumours page yesterday, i just thought it was hilarious!
"Wayne Bridge and Nedum Onuoha will not return to Eastlands, Bridge may be used as a paperweight for Leighton Baines."

A paperweight! !

Chris in Tamworth

What's so funny? Not that hilarious?! Am I missing something here. Keith Gillespie was the first of many paperweights in transfer history I believe.

Rumours: I've heard we are after Philippe Coutinho of Inter and Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey. . I've not heard much of latter. Have you Ed? {Ed007's Note - Not seen that much of him but he is a tricky, pacy player. Probably one of Motherwells best this season, but his scoring record could be better for a winger up here}
- - - - - - - - - - - -

I can't believe what I read sometimes! It's funny because the word you are looking for is "makeweight" not a bloody paperweight! !

Cheers ed dint think that, just dint want other posters 2 think I'd bin playing football manager or bin on YouTube, gr8 site, keep up the gud work.

Re marko Marin just 2 let u kno my judgement int in YouTube clips, coz like u ed u can't make a judgement on a player based on their best bits but everytime werder r on espn I watch them & seen him play 4 Germany 2.

Jimbob {Ed001's Note - sorry I didn't mean it to sound like I was suggesting you had judged him that way! I was only meaning I am not going to get involved because I have only seen him on clips. I don't have ESPN, mind I have enough trouble keeping up with the footie on as it is, probably best I don't add ESPN too!}

Liverpool now have stability unlike your club with GLAZIERS still robbing millions hence the Yellow/ Gold scarfs! Eventually the bubble will burst !

1) Sound ownership finally
2) Quality management team
3) Good youth prospects
4) Talk of a new stadium or even renovating existing.

We re not saying we're gonna win the title next year but we re out of our doom and gloom we've had thanks to H&G and Mr Hodgson.

Yes like most squads there's unwanted players but the frightening thing for the rest of the prem, is KK's done what he has done with what we had. So if we make the right moves in the transfer market then it will just gonna get better and better.

13 May 2011 14:08:30
Read the rumours we r interested in marko marin, real quality player & a little wizard, this player is probably the most exciting player we have been seriously linked with. Ed's & fellow reds wot r ur thoughts?

Jimbob {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, I have not seen a lot of him to be honest, I refuse to judge a player on youtube clips either, so I will keep out of this discussion sorry.}

Where's the famous Scouse Humour?
, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
2 liverpool fans were itching to get to the match but their wifes hid their clothes, one of the fans said my two brothers are in the salvation army i'll borrow their uniforms we can go in them, so off they went to the pub first, as they went to the bar they ordered two pints, as they were about to pay the landlord said its ok they are on the house you lads did a great job during the war giving soup out on the stations, this went on all afternoon, they were rat-apsed, when one said to the other we better get going b4 someone cottons on lets just nip the toilet, when they got back into the bar to collect their hats they found the landlord had done a whipround and their hats were full of money, geez one said lets get out of here quick,
As they got to the door the landlord shouted for them to stop, they froze in fright, then the landlord said"what about the war cries"to which they both turned round and started chanting."DALGLISH, DALGLISH,

A quick message to Deano95 about my estimate of how much will be given to KD in the summer. I used the £25M figure as it is reasonable to expect that amount of money to be made available. I am not one to think £50-£60M will be given as that will land me in the fantasy world of a child who thinks we're going to buy 15 players and sell 16 players. There are enough of them on this site.

Reality is £25M with a vast amount made available from player sales is all you could expect. That to me is extremely reasonable and no one should be aiming their sights higher than that. Otherwise come September you'll be linking FSG with H&G and that is unreasonable.

We need patience. We are not going to solve this lack of quality in our squad with just one summer transfer window. To try to do so would fail in any event and be very costly. So all we should be expecting from now on is growth of the club off the field (box ticked), improvement on the field (box ticked), continued support from the owners (box not ticked. .yet) and in 2, more likely three years we should be consistently challenging for top honours year in, year out and back where we belong.

If we're lucky we may get ahead of schedule in some areas but to raise expectations higher than this too soon will led to failure.

We're on the way up, make no mistake. Don't try and rush to get there too quickly but enjoy the scenery and the ride up. It'll be worthwhile.

Let manure have their day this Sunday, it's easier to swallow now than last year, sit back relax and enjoy the CL final debacle, a re-run of 2009 and watch them slowly but surely look over their shoulder in fright at the on-coming red Merseyside Juggernaut.

I'm like a big kid getting all excited again. "NURSE. . "

The future's bright, the future's Merseyside red.

Not a rumour but Elmander is out of contract in the summer, definitely not a shabby sub to have on the bench.

13 May 2011 13:19:12
people who think we will not spent much this summer will are delutional. we're going to have around 30m from player sales if all the right players leave so that 30 for KK and DC to do with as they please. also every other player we look at will be assessed on a case by case basis. so if most players are seen as a good investment then we will spend to get them. the fact thatg we paid stupid money for Carroll proves that we will be spending in the summer. 30m from player sales + around 50m from owners that will give us 80 to spend on about 5-6 players and on top of that marveaux the free agent, this way improving our squad quility and depth. we might only buy 4 players in the summer and another 2 in the winter window who knows.

Ed, Do you know if we are still interested in Eljero Elia,
And if he is still available? {Ed002's Note - He is available but Liverpool baulked at the asking price in January.}

Elia is not LFC standard, so glad we're not interested in him and even gladder Mexes and Taiwo aren't coming either.

Finally, deadwood starts drifting past the good ship LFC.

I find it funny when you all think your all in the know whos coming. since king kenny took over he has shown how you get the best out of what you have got. witch is a sign to say you don't need to buy top player all the time. he has shown that we have some great players that are now working as a team witch is something we have not had for a long time. so i don't think he is going to bring in all these top players that everyone is talking about. everyone talks like we should sell the team and start again. you all need to start listening to what king kenny is saying. he likes the crop of players he has. give and take a few. i have fath in kk to do and to buy what he thinks will work for the team.

Despite his age, I'd still say Drogba is far more than a rotation striker (and so would he) and should be playing every week in front of both Torres and Anelka.

After speakin to 1 of the youth coaches at lfc i can confirm that the place is buzzin at the moment, i really hope the lfc contiue at the start of the season with the youth players who have made such a difference, between KD and rafa our youth set up has really hit the mark with kelly, falangan, robinson, spearing all looking the part

asked the lad about signings and he said there is alot of chat about setting up the team with width for the first time since macca and barnes. . . . . young(average imo) johnson top draw signing but city would sell to us. i only think we need another striker eds, come on tell us the most likely

Lets make John Henry song out of this:

Well John Henry was a little baby
Sittin' on his daddy's knee
He picked up a hammer and
a little piece of steel
And cried, "Hammer's gonna
be death of me, Lord, Lord
Hammer's gonna be the death of me"

Now the captain he
said to John Henry
"I'm gonna bring that
steam drill around
I'm gonna bring that
steam drill out on these tracks
I'm gonna knock that
steel on down, God, God
I'm gonna knock that
steel on down"

John Henry told his captain
"Lord a man ain't noth' but a man
But before I let that steam drill
beat me down
I'm gonna die with a hammer
in my hand, Lord, Lord
I'll die with a hammer in my hand"

John Henry driving
on the right side
That steam drill driving
on the left
Says, "Fore I let your
steam drill beat me down
I'm gonna hammer
myself to death, Lord, Lord,
I'll hammer my fool self to death"

Well captain said to John Henry
"What is that storm I hear?"
John Henry said, "That
ain't no storm captain
That's just my hammer
in the air, Lord, Lord
That's just my hammer in the air"

John Henry said to his shaker
"Shaker, why don't you sing?
Cause I'm swingin' thirty pounds
from my hips on down
Yeah, listen to my cold steel
ring, Lord Lord

Listen to my cold steel ring"

John Henry he hammered
in the mountains
His hammer was striking fire
But he worked so hard;
it broke his heart
John Henry laid down his hammer
and died, Lord, Lord

John Henry laid down his hammer and died

Well, now John Henry
he had him a woman
By the name of Polly Ann
She walked out to those tracks
Picked up John Henry's hammer
Polly drove steel like a man, Lord, Lord
Polly drove that steel like a man

Well every, every Monday morning
When a blue bird he began to sing
You could hear John Henry
from a mile or more
You could hear John Henry's hammer
ring, Lord, Lord
You can hear John Henry's hammer ring
I say, You can John Henry's
hammer ring, Lord, Lord
You can John Henry's
hammer ring

According to the Telegraph Liverpool are targeting Gary Cahill, Dejan Lovren, Jose Enrique, Ashley Young, Andre Ayew, Sylvain Marveaux, Georginio Wijnaldum, and an as-yet unidentified striker.

JOHN HENRY, STEEL DRIVING MAN(Lyrics)

John Henry was a railroad man,
He worked from six 'till five,

"Raise 'em up bullies and let 'em drop down,

I'll beat you to the bottom or die."

John Henry said to his captain:
"You are nothing but a common man,

Before that steam drill shall beat me down,

I'll die with my hammer in my hand."

John Henry said to the Shakers:
"You must listen to my call,

Before that steam drill shall beat me down,

I'll jar these mountains till they fall."

John Henry's captain said to him:
"I believe these mountains are caving in."

John Henry said to his captain: "Oh, Lord!"

"That's my hammer you hear in the wind."

John Henry he said to his captain:
"Your money is getting mighty slim,

When I hammer through this old mountain,

Oh Captain will you walk in?"

John Henry's captain came to him
With fifty dollars in his hand,

He laid his hand on his shoulder and said:

"This belongs to a steel driving man."

John Henry was hammering on the right side,
The big steam drill on the left,

Before that steam drill could beat him down,

He hammered his fool self to death.

They carried John Henry to the mountains,
From his shoulder his hammer would ring,

She caught on fire by a little blue blaze

I believe these old mountains are caving in.

John Henry was lying on his death bed,
He turned over on his side,

And these were the last words John Henry said

"Bring me a cool drink of water before I die."

John Henry had a little woman,
Her name was Pollie Ann,

He hugged and kissed her just before he died,

Saying, "Pollie, do the very best you can."

John Henry's woman heard he was dead,
She could not rest on her bed,

She got up at midnight, caught that No. 4 train,

"I am going where John Henry fell dead."

They carried John Henry to that new burying ground
His wife all dressed in blue,

She laid her hand on John Henry's cold face,

"John Henry I've been true to you."

Downing has not pledged his future but merely intimated that Villa have initiated contract talks this is different from signing a contract. This is a PR excercise from Villa so they won't look like a selling club when both Downing and Young leave! As for Lavezzi being average? The only think that's average is your footballing brain. Lavezzi is keeping Tevez out of the Argentinian team you tool. You do the maths. We have to face facts we are light years away from attracting the likes of Sanchez, Aguero et al we just can't afford the the wages. Aguero would be here tommorow but he will be on 150-200k a week soon and we just can't compete hence the policy of youth. We will be a diluted selling club in essence until we start winning championshops and titles. As for reading regurgitating caughtoffside rumours grow up fella football transfers are hard to keep quiet the media regardless of how you deem them get hold of stories and may turn out to be true. I will not be put off conveying what i hear because im a fan first and formost and share my inside knowledge as i make a supposition that other reds fans wanna hear it

Don't be so sure we can't attract top names mate!, wait till the summer!;) im not a ITK but i do follow 3 very good ITK's on twitter that defo know whats going on in and around the club. The one guy knew the King would be signing a 3yr deal 1-2 wks ago! plus i read on there about young being basically a done deal last wk, which looks like that is going to be right to. you guys should check them out! (Sorry if this is hard to read, im under the influence of some very strong liquor!)

All hail King Kenny. and prince Clarke! lol YNWA

LFC story could well be LOTR

In the early days of football the whole world just got on then Sauron(man utd) saw a chance of conquering all at home and abroad then after defeating sauron(Man utd) we took the League away (ring)from them.
We set up the fellowship of the ring(bootroom) with the magic coming from Gandalf (Shankly) then after he was defeated in moria we continue with our adventure , we had a man that was destined to be king but left us for personal reasons .Seeing the King gone Sauron sent the King of the Nazgul (sir Alex)they took the ring back .We disbanded the fellowship and sent many heroes to retrive the Ring but none could although isildur (benitaz) almost took the ring he was found to be weak and craved too much power. We even sent Sarumann(Agent Roy) but he was secretly working for Sauron. Then just as LFC were Doomed The Return of the King gave us hope with him came Legolas(clarke) and Gimli(sammy lee). The King has finally accepted his destiny and coming to a stadium near you next year he will finally battle Sauron(who had to restructure the debt mount doom as energy prices went up).

Well happy Return of the King amazing player , gentleman , manager and just an inspirational individual who loves LFC as much as any LFC supporter could.Regardless if we win the battle next season with the King we will win the War

Still people slating lucas on here. he has been our most consistent perfomer over the past 18months and has made more succesful tackles this season than anyother premier league regular. he is also brazil regular which aint easy. giv him more freedom an let him play. he makes us tick an imo holds our team together, constantly harrasing an breaking up attacks.

From what I've seen from Conor Coady, I think he'll be our next Captain. (If Gerrard remains as captain for another 4-5 years. Coady'd be 21-22 by then.) I think he'd turn out to be a leader like Roy Keane- -hard and fierce, we need that.

Ashley Young has been given permission to speak to Liverpool as they have agreed a fee with Aston Villa. I work at Loc8 estate agents and I have been contacted by his people to find a suitable home for him in the merseyside area and being a Liverpool fan I dared to ask a few questions. Surprisingly this gentleman was very open about it. Now I can tell you this because I leave Loc8 estate agents tomorrow as I am moving to Australia on Monday.

{Ed002's Note - Most unlikely. I doubt Inter want to sell and if they do Udinese appear in pole position for him. Juventus have until Sunday to agree to buying Aquilani or to agree to buying Aquilani or Liverpool will try and place hime elsewhere. I suspect he will end up at Juventus.} Liverpool will try and place hime elsewhere. I suspect he will end up at Juventus.}

Getting sick of people sayin that kenny will only sign british players ie. adam, downing, young, cahill, jarvis. why the hell would he do that s%$t, i'm sure hes keen to start winning trophies not fall down to the bottom of the table. don't you think he will go for the best players he can buy for those positions wherever they may originate.
