Edd001, do you regret us letting shelvy go? I think it was best for him at the time because he needed a long run of games but he'd turned into a quailty midfielder for me. Still needs to work hard but he's someone who could have been a great player for us imo

{Ed001's Note - we didn't 'let him go', he wanted to leave. It was the right move for his career, as he was only going to be on the fringes, at best, for us. I think it was the best move for us as well, as I don't think he was ready.}

I said at the time the lad has all the quality to be a player in so many ways similar to scholes

Shelvey would not lace Scholes boots in any shape or form. He might be good enough to clean them.

Was best for shelvey but would prefer to have him on the pitch then allen. Fair play to shelvey though, gets to play more and has shown he has plenty of ability

Shelvey is one of those naturally talented kids. Bet he looks a worldy in training, he just doesn't have the right attitude and thinks he's better than he is. He's the exact opposite of Henderson. Henderson, to me, is the perfect example of a player working hard and continually looking to improve but not having that top natural talent (very similar to Lampard).

scholes? he's a united player yes. bt shelvey is nowhere near scholes.

Nothing wrong with Shelvey's talent.
It is his decison making which let's him down, especially when the red mist descends.

Lies he was outshining Henderson when Shelvey was with us

Everyone was outshining Henderson when he was played out of position ( RM) I'm amazed our manager chose to put him back there for the arsenal game.

he played him at RWB which was even a dumber decision
