Question for ed001 if your about.
What are your thoughts on Benteke joining the club? Do you think he can play to our style?
I haven't seen enough of him to be certain but from what I've seen of him, his strengths are not what we want.
If reports are to be believed he wants guarantees that he'll be first choice so IMO I hope this transfer doesn't happen and the 30 mill goes on someone that fits our style.

{Ed001's Note - he struggled miserably when the ball was not played up to him quickly and early. If you want to defend deep and quickly counter, then yes he would be a useful player. He would be perfectly suited to Chelsea's usage of their lone striker, for instance. So it really depends on how we intend to play next season, even if we have Rodgers in charge again, we have no idea what kind of system he will use. He doesn't seem to know that either, so I fail to see any sense in buying a player like Benteke, who is so dependent on the style of football being played to suit him. If you are talking someone like Benzema, that makes sense, as he can adapt to suit different styles. Otherwise, we need to sort out how we intend to play before we start making signings.}

Just wondering if Benteke could pull a wonder goal out from nowhere after our midfielders have been slowly passing the ball between themselves for half an hour? If so, maybe Rogers current system could suit him?

Benzema would be a great signing, really rate him.
I know not everybody does for various reasons.
I always see quality though and your right ed in that he is adaptable, would be a huge coup for us.
Unfortunately I can't see him coming to us.

Ed is on the money there. Benzema is a very, very good striker BUT I think he doesn`t look like wanting to improve himself as a player because IMO, he could be so much better than he actually is, atm. i knew him when he broke into Lyon`s first team and he was just awesome. He has the potential to be really great, even world class, IMO.

He should of gone one step below real after Lyon and then moved on, didn't develop properly because he hasn't had to!
Like I don't think Suarez would've been the player he is of he hadn't of gone to Liverpool (or a club below Barcelona in terms lf quality) first.
