As the international break rages on, here are some humble suggestions to improve football

In England
- one-off semis for EFL cup
- semis in neutral venue for FA cup semis

In International
- scrap UEFA Nations League
- international break in season only for competitive matches (eg qualifiers for wc, euros, acfon) ; this I hope can reduce the number of international breaks within the season
- scrap club World Cup

In UEFA
- scrape conference league (or whatever the third tier competition is called)
- return Uefa cup to a KO only format played out against the cup winners of the nations

Any thoughts?

Think this is a great idea mate.

Although I have no interest at in international footy, it’s pretty hard to play in competitive games without the chance to practice formations and tactics in friendlies.

FA cup semis are always at a neutral venue.

I have zero interest in international football but if I had to watch a game I’d rather watch England V say France, Belgium or Germany in a nations league game over England against part time taxi drivers and waiters etc in Azerbaijan or San Marino etc in a Euro or WC qualifier.

No wonder some international players records are so good.

As much as I hate international breaks they are always for competitive matches, it just doesn’t always involve England so friendlies fill the gaps. I. e. Senegal vs Egypt or other World Cup qualifiers. But as we have qualified we get a friendly instead.

My thoughts are none of this would be considered because, well, money. All the governing bodies, clubs, venues, associated businesses and TV want is money and the more opportunities there are to accrue it, the better for them.

@Bakedbeanboy, absolutely spot on, with the one exception of the FA Cup Semis. There’s definitely a case for the Final being the only game at Wembley.

For a match like us and Citeh I’m sure there’d be a good crowd if you played the match in the north.

I’m sure there was some sort of a reason they decided to play the semis at Wembley (probably money) but I can’t recall what it was.

I would like to propose relegation of the bottom 10 teams and the promotion of 10 teams across the top 4 leagues. It would make football a lot more fun as all teams would have to attack. It would stop and reverse wage growth and engage all fans. Of course they would have to be squad limits may have to be reduced to stop unfair advantage to the richest teams.

To be honest, I would have no interest in a European competition of only title winners. probably less than zero interest to be fair.

To make it clear
Fa cups i neutral grounds but not Wembley

Of course none of these will be implemented due to $

I’m also unsure if all breaks are for competitive matches, and if some teams don’t need it, just give the players a break, practicing tactics and formation 2 years from a competition and have the squad be quite different 2 years in the main competition is quite pointless

Let friendlies only take place pre major tournaments and not like the 6 and 4 matches Scotland and England are doing over summer

It’ll require fifa to not consider co efficient points for friendlies I think to reduce incentives for friendlies from a footballing pov.

{Ed002's Note - They won't be implemented because they are not being proposed or considered - it is nothing to do withe "due to $ ".}
