Haven't posted for a few weeks. Mainly just been absorbing all the hysteria and vowing not to get involved. I failed.
Just a few games ago we battered a poor Arsenal. With 10 men City gave us a lesson, fair enough, we won't be the only team this year they do that to. If we'd have converted just a couple of our plethora of chances in the other games all would be ok. No, not the defence, granted, but on the whole we'd be moving in the rightish direction.
Yes, we need a defensive coach, a settled back line and Klopp needs to stick with a keeper and let it roll. But all the moaning and whinging is plane embarrassing people.
Shanks used to say that it's not worth looking at the league table until Christmas. I know times have changed but there's still wisdom in the words.
A few times last season, even pre-Christmas when we were "nailed on" for the title, I said I'd be happy with 4th and a gradual improvement in our form with a hope of being real contenders within a few years. I still hold that same view. I'm old enough to have lived through the hey day of 70's and 80's Liverpool so I know what it is to wait for a league title. Patience, planning and a bit of luck at times is what's needed, not keyboard fans throwing the manager and team under a bus every time we have a bad run, get a grip.

Spot on, Burkey. Only an irrational person wuld have thought that we would win the PL last season with all the issues this team had personnel-wise, last season BUT whenever you say that, they will tell you that you lack ambition.

Just wondering, who said or where did you see people saying we were "nailed on" for the title?
I know you didn't say it yourself, Twitter or whatever I assume?
It's one of the main reasons why we seem to fail every season - unrealistic expectations from many "fans/ experts".
We are never nailed on for anything.
