Got a funny feeling that Aguero will come to anfield what do you guys think ?

29 May 2011 23:45:29
Kun has said that he wants his second son to be born in the spanish capital. This is interesting considering that Real said they won't bid for him, whether they keep the promise is another situation. I believe Mourinho is not looking for that type of striker but a certain Fernando Llorente although he has Higuian, Benzema and Adebayor plus ronaldo with the wings being occupied with Mesut, di maria, leon, and Sahin the newly signed turkish winger. However Barcelona on the other hand are looking for a target man although I do believe they might be looking at the cheaper option being Rossi. Very interesting aguero wants madrid?? Madrid look past him?? Aguero wants to fit into a club that he will settle into quick. We all know torres didn't settle in quick at chelsea but suarez did at liverpool, plus Aguero is very close with Maxi. I'm not sure but the Aguero situation is very interesting.

In:Sakho, Dann, Adam, Marveaux, Mata & Perotti. Possibly Honda.
Marveaux, Mata & Perotti should sought the wings out. Mata can play as a striker & we have kuyt. Morgan is coming through as well. No need to spend big on a striker then.
Adam is good at sitting deep in the midfield & this position suits his passing range/ability. If Adam plays to his strengths I think he'll cut it for us.
Between Aurelio & Robinson the lb position is okay.
Sakho & Dann should make the back for formidable. Sakho can also provide cover at lb.
Re-assess in January & bring in Honda if neccessary/viable.

Hi Eds,
I have probably got this wrong, but is NESV part of Fenway sports? have Roma just been taken over from members of this consortium. Reason why i ask is there has been alot of talk about Aguero, now i appreciate that he will however receive a more appealing offer else where. why i ask? people always talk about us not being able to afford his get out clause nore his wages but how is it that Roma will be able to. As i said i probably have this all wrong.

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the ins and outs now of the relationships and trading names, but the bottomline is one of the investors in Fenway/NESV has kicked out on his own and invested in Roma. No link; no secrets; no motive. The rationale behind the Roma>Aguero link is the representatives of Aguero are trying to get the obscene deal for their client and Roma are new owners on the market with, like Juve, a pocket full of cash. I should write a standard response for this question - which is a good one.}

Ed, Liverpool are being linked with Perroti, i havent heard of him before, is he a good player for Liverpool?
{Ed013's Note - He is a good player and has a lot of potential would be a good buy}

ed just got a rumour that essien is to be off loaded a long with a few other stars like lamps , drogba , mikel why not bid 10 mill for essien him and gerrard would b a great partnership . what do people think ?????????????

i think he would come as well - think he has had enough of chelsea now - people say liverpool have a big re-building job and rightly so - but so have chelsea and utd - many players past their sell by date now - lampard drogba, malouda, terry, cole and giggs, scholes, berbatov, evra, ferdinand, carrick

Liverpool have put in a starting bid of 7million for Diego Perotti

29 May 2011 23:03:38
LFC realistic summer signings are the following:
Gervinho, Perotti, Dann, McCarthy, Jones, Cissokho + Mata

29 May 2011 23:03:08
Is there a chance Liverpool may get their transfer business concluded quickly, especially their main targets or is another long summer of waiting and hoping on the cards

29 May 2011 22:43:21
Can people stop with this marquee crap, if ye want 1 go to b&q. Lfc will try to sign the players that Kenny wants to improve the team regardless of age or creed, whether it means signing an 18 yr old for £1m or a 30yr old for £10m, just don't rule anyone in or out because no 1 expected Carroll for £35m on deadline day, so just have faith in nesv, Kenny and dc

I have literally just spoke to Stewart downings best friend he has just told me there is no chance of a new contract and he is going to sign for Liverpool this is concrete please post!! {Ed002's Note - Ah, a concrete post.}

Maybe, but a concrete post is way better than most of the rotten wooden posts we get on here. And I know it's only Youtube, but Marveau looks whack! Not sure why we'd buy him.

29 May 2011 22:25:51
hey guys, I just want to tell you that I am such a big liverpool fan, that I actually have the LFC crest Tattooed on my Penis! When I went to the Tattoo parlour, they said no due to health and safety but my mate did it for me afterwards and here I am today.

Anyway I have it on good authority that either Mata or Aguero will sign within the next few weeks (or at least the deal will be announced)

29 May 2011 22:23:58
Lot of talk going about that we have already signed maverux on a pre-contract is this true ed? Also if you were to name three players bar maverux who are going to sign for LFC who would you say?
{Ed013's Note - Marveaux came out and said the other day he has not signed for any one yet but is going to be playing in the EPL next season. In my opinion Adam, Dann, Mata who i think we will sign{

29 May 2011 22:04:59
please editor my posts are never posted but i am a diehard liverpool fan and iwas wandering who is our biggest target in this transfer window. and if you may please rate this following players out of 10. downing, perrotti, mata, gervinho.mvilla, moussa sissoko. finally editors i have read posts and it has said that positive talks have been held with mata's representitives how far do you think we are from a deal. lastly wonderful job your are doing here on this site best site ever by far. BRIAN
{Ed013's Note - the players out of 10- 4,4,5,3,2. We have held talks with mata but no bid as of yet.}

29 May 2011 21:57:06
Ed what are the chances of the joining Steven Defour. Miralem Pjanic. Phil Jones. Marek Hamsik. Igor Akinfeev. I would personally love to see these play for Liverpool what about you.
{Ed013's Note - 2,1,4,1,1}

Evening Ed I've just heard from a good friend of mine who has connections at West Brom that Scott Dann is nailed on to join the baggies in a swap deal with James Morrison going the other way. Have you heard this?

you will need to explain to us all why he would do that when the mighty liverpool have shown an interest - west brom - no chance
------------------------

I can't explain it as I can't believe it would be true if we have shown an interest however my source is genuine and this is what he has told me so he is either wrong or maybe we haven't shown an interest. So maybe you should explain to us all how you know we have shown an interest in Dann when even the most connected Eds aren't sure who we are looking at

Hi Eds,

Great job you guys are doing on here.

Could you let me know if or what our chances are of getting Affellay from Barca. Surely with them being linked with Cesc and Rossi. I think Affellay is as good as both Van der Vaart and Sniejder, wouldn't cost as much either. Your thoughts in him. Cheers
{Ed013's Note - I agree affellay is a great talent which is getting wasted there but there is no official interest from us}

do you think liverpool will consider heinze, he just left marseille and would be available. think he would be a decent signing... plenty of experience and by the time he retires robinson would be able to step up.

look - we have got a youth policy that will show fruits in the future - let him go back to the mancs with the rest of the old codgers - he will be happy there - lets stick with the young lads

29 May 2011 21:26:53
Ed's can I ask - Is Sylvain Marveaux up to scratch and buy this I mean he is not exactly an improvement on what we already have - I'm hoping for Perotti - what are the chances ??
{Ed013's Note - Marveaux has potential but gets injured a lot. Perotti I would say we have a 5/10 chance}

29 May 2011 21:22:58
When do you think the first transfers will start to be completed ed? {Ed013's Note - Next week is when i think movement will start to happen}

Besides the Mata move news regarding a striker is as follows....Aguero situation is being monitored however no official bids are being made or negotiations because they do not want to start a bidding frenzy. if this fails they will also look at Benzema and rival Arsenal if Karim does go back on his word and not stay at Madrid.

Theo Walcott is worth a cheeky bid. He ticks all the boxes. Frightening pace.

29 May 2011 21:04:40
Hey Ed, only just got on my laptop now but I recieved a text earlier off a friend of mine who seems to get a lot of transfer news from somewhere and 9 times out of 10, it will be right.

He said that we are in pole position for Mata who is certainly leaving Valencia in the summer.

Also, McCarthy just needs to sort out personal terms with us as a bid in the region of 9m was accepted by Wigan.

Lastly, Comolli wants to bring in a young, French Centre Back. I am guessing that this will be Sakho but I am not sure at this moment in time. I will let you all know if I hear anythin else.

Thanks.

Hi eds, I see one of the recent posts was about Bojan Krkic from Barca, I believe he would be a great buy and be a great asset to have but the poster mentioned 15-20 million to get him, but isn't his buyout clause now 100 million euros?

Thanks
{Ed013's Note - He has a buy out clause between 80-100 million but if barca want to sell him im sure they will sell at a lower price.}

29 May 2011 20:53:16
Ed, just a quick question, do you think that we will need a CM even though we already have: Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Spearing and may have Aquilani back? I think that we shoulf get Aquilani back to create competition for the CM position but not buy a new one.

Thanks.
{Ed013's Note - Aquilani head is not with Liverpool so I would say we do need a CM to increase competition.}

29 May 2011 20:47:05
ed- is payet an average or great player and will he settle in be decent at liverpool?
{Ed013's Note - He is a good player with potential and it is hard to tell if he will settle as the EPL is a tough league. To be honest there is better out there like perotti.}

29 May 2011 20:44:06
i really think david vayghn from blackpool who is allowed to leave on a free is worth a punt as back up, he sure knows how to get forward and cross the ball, be a good foil for Carrol

29 May 2011 20:35:00
Hey Ed do you think the recent reports of ashley Young going to Man u and the reports of us upping efforts to sign perroti are linked. Was he our second choice after Young would prefer Perroti anyways?
{Ed013's Note - I would have taken perotti over young as he is cheaper and not cash hungry like young. Also i think he was a main target of the summer as well as young}

29 May 2011 20:31:51
@Bazzaa

- I agree with almost everything you said mate, just I don't rate Clichy at all.
I never really thought about it before, but trying to get Bojan on loan (with option to buy) would be brilliant. Offer Barca an initial fee (£5m?) and full wages which shouldn't be much considering he's from the youth. Then if we decide to buy him pay the rest to make up £20m? Possible Ed?

Stone YNWA.
{Ed013's Note - i don't think they would loan him out as they want to just offload him to get money for cesc and rossi. So it would have to be a straight purchase but he would be a good signing}

29 May 2011 20:31:16
Evening Ed :

Being realistic I think our signings for the wings will be :
Payet and Perotti both good players imo with maybe an outside chance of Mata.
Your thoughts Ed..
Slider
{Ed013's Note - I think perotti would be realistic but I personally feel we have a chance at signing mata}

Can I ask the editors the following questions please:

1) am I right in saying that Dalglish/Commoli etc.. have been stating about only adding quality to the squad as it would be disrespectful to bring in players of low or average quality - why oh why are we buying Marveaux - I have watched his clips on youtube and alarm bells are ringing - thing Bermard Diomede think Mark Gonzalez - do u think he is good enough ?

2) Why do we need a left back in any case - we have just found Flannagan and Robinson - with Johnson, Kelly and Auerlio this is surely plenty and we can spend the money on some quality on the wings, midfield and up front - what do you think ?

3) I really want us to buy some real quality players - to do this we obviously need to sell some players - which may recoup about 15 - 20 million if we are lucky but that still means we need 40 - 45 million to buy three top quality players at say 20 million each - are the owners going to come up with this ?

4) I have looked around within the premiership and have come up with a short list of the only players that I feel would make a genuine improvement to our squad:

Adam Johnson
Ashley Young

Everything else is mediocre - what d u think?

And finally - can I ask what you believe will be Liverpools marquee signing this summer ?

thanks Diggerbarnes {Ed002's Note - (1) You are wrong in that I have no record of Comolli or Dalglish saying "it would be disrespectful to bring in players of low or average quality". I note your "Marveaux Out" stance. Perhaps the fault should be laid at the door of the decision maker - and if KD is a supporter of having Marveaux at the club, you would be much better placed with a "Dalglish Out" sign at the gates. (2) I guess the argument would be that what there is at the club either wants to leave, is not good enough, or is perhaps too young and inexperienced at this time. Perhaps they do not see a wing back in the options available and will take a look at Vargas. We do know that a bid has been replaced and rejected for Enrique. (3) I am confident that, within some reasonable bounds, the owners will be supportive of the financial needs of the summer. (4) I am not sure that the 500 plus Premiership players would agree that they are all mediocre except Downing and Young.

I don't know why this thought of a "marquee" signing keeps being mentioned.}

29 May 2011 20:04:02
Evening Eds and LFC family,

I would take McCarthy over Adam any day, much better prospect and already proven in Prem at 20 years old.

Gervinho is a great option for right, left mid and striker option, £10 - 13mil maximum and 23 - 24 years old.

Dann as a young C Def, £10mil max. This would be a good option for a Carra replacement in the future.

Aguero would cost too much in fee and wages, he would unsettle the squad with his £275,000 p/w wages!! What would be a wage drop for him?? £200,000 p/w?? He is quality but I think we would need to be serious and find someone else.

Thank god Young is off to Manchester United! I think we are serious contenders for Mata - people said we would not get Suarez, we did!! I have my fingers crossed and believe, as I did with Suarez - hope it happens.

Downing, hmmmm, Arsenal sniffing around too - let them have him.

LEFT BACK, who will it be? Clichy, Enrique, Izaguirre-me bob, I have no idea - Vargas is quality and would be a great option in the lineups KK has played - an advanced wingback - aged 27!

Adam Johnson - the option is there for us to move in my opinion, make it before it closes on us.

Lukakakakaku - Too much at too young.

Would like a cheeky bid for the following: Hamsik CM, Benzema, Asenjo GK, Baines, N'Zogbia and Bojan, walk if the fees are rediculous.

Get bids agreed with clubs then see who wants to join the Red-volution (see what I did there), if they want to check other offers then say goodbye and move on.

Eds do you think this is reasonable? I am NOT asking for the score out of 10! Fellow reds - please feel free to give any opinions, good or bad to this as I am interested in what you think.

Bazzaa

Just a couple of comments.

"Lucas Leiva is being lined up for a £5m move to Napoli "
I am not his biggest fan but this is not enough, surely cannot be true.

From what I have seen of Marveaux on U tube he could be a great asset. At 25 he could still improve a bit with a club like LFC.

Nothing on Malouda? was a very strong rumour that he was coming to LFC in Spanish press recently.

29 May 2011 19:35:23
Just read an article claiming KK has 'upped' an initial bid of £7m to £8.5m for Perotti. You know if this is true ed?

Is Perotti any good, he is a left winger isnt he?

Cheers, RedChris
{Ed013's Note - I have not heard this only heard serious interest}

perotti is right footed and plays rw or lw he is only 22 argentinian and is very good great cross loads of pace.bargain at the price quoted.DORSET RED

Just finished my shift at the local shop in Carleton, Poulton Le Fylde and had a chat with Charlie Adam this morning when he popped in for his Sunday papers. I over heard his phone call in which he mentioned something about the keys to a house in Formby. I asked him if he was off to liverpool but he just said wait and see. he also asked if he could have a framed copy of the Daily Mirror back page showing Barca lifting the European cup hehe. Lets hope hes on his way!

Liverpool are looking to sign Gabriel Heinze on a bosman transfer to provide experience and another option at left back in addition to the signing of either Izaguirre from Celtic, Enrique from Newcastle or Angel from Sevilla.
Ed ward.

Liverpool are looking to buy Stewart Downing for 15mil.
Also a New striker is coming in either Benzema for 10 to 15mil or Sergio Aguero 40mil but probs will end up at Chelsea or man city.Gervinho is also a target 10mil.
Lucas Leiva is being lined up for a £5m move to Napoli as the Reds continue to track Blackpool star Charlie Adam, 25, as a central midfield replacement.

29 May 2011 19:02:57
Ed, What do you think about the possibility of the "Done" Marveaux deal just being one of Daglish's favourite smokescreens to cover for another French league player... Gervinho?, Sakho?, or Sissoko?
{Ed013's Note - I don't believe he is a smokescreen}

Hi all, got an update for you on the wide area front, the key position needing strengthening this summer for us.

Perotti - 8m bid went in on Friday night.
Griezmann - DC has flown over to Spain to talk to him, and Mata.
Marin - Told us to come back in a years time.
Young - Off to Man Utd, done deal.
Downing - KD rates him, Downing wants us.
Jarvis - Wolves asking for too much.
Mata - Held positive talks with the agent aswell as Reina putting in a word with Mata himself, we're also willing to pay the asking price.
Hazard - Unlikely, will be amazed if DC pulls it off.
Gervinho - Held preliminary talks with agent, gave us the heads up for putting a bid in for him.
Dzsudzsak - Turned us down, holding out for a move to Spain.
Marveaux - Done deal, expect announcment on the day of the transfer window opening.

29 May 2011 18:52:12
Liverpool are keen on signing QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt and could offer forward Joe Cole in part-exchange.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wants to sign Aston Villa's Ashley Young and Matt Jarvis from Wolves as he seeks wingers to provide the ammunition for £35m striker Andy Carroll.
Brad Friedel, 40, has been offered a two-year deal by Liverpool, the club he left 10 years ago. Spurs, West Brom and German side Schalke are also interested in the American.
Stephen Warnock, 29, could move to liverpool for £2m.

Ed, whats the chances of us signing Alexis Sanchez?
{Ed013's Note - 0/10, no chance most likely will end up at Man city.}
--------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening ed, there is a couple of questions i would like to ask you, if Man city sign Alexis Sanchez, do you think they would still be interested in Mata?
Also if i remember correctly some of you eds mentioned that we were still interested in Jose Angel, do we stand the chance of signing him, or he's Barcelona bound as it was reported a while back?
Thank you, great site. {Ed013's note - I believe they would not be interested in mata if they sign sanchez. And Angel is not a top target he is a fall back option.}

Hi ed, I work in on the wrong side of the game really, I work in hospitally and do a lot of work at the Walkers and up in Scotland. I was a I function at the end of the season in leicester and spent some time speaking to Sven for the most part to steered clear of football, But Im an avid Liverpool fan and had to ask him what he thought of the progress Liverpool had made since Kenny had taken charge and what he thought had change.. Anyway conversation moved towards transfers and he mentioned to he had heard liverpool had spoken to Birmingham about Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome. Can you cofirm this?
Thanks
Hutch {Ed002's Note - The interest in Scott Dann is clear but there is an injury to clear up fully before anything will happen. I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Cameron Jerome. Quite frankly I don't see him as giving anything more than the Liverpool squad have now and a five year contract for N'Gog would pay better returns.}

29 May 2011 18:19:38
Don't know if anyone else read this but just seen an interview with sylvain marveux, he says he has not signed any deal with any club. He goes on to say he is recovering from injury. He says he expects to be in the prem. Does anyone know if there is another club in the mix for his signature? The article is on espn. Cheers. Ck1 {Ed002's Note - This is correct. There is no deal yet as there has yet to be a medical.}

Just looking on CaughtOffside and theres a few articles that got my interest, one was we are going to buy Phil Jones and Scott Dann for 20M. Another is Ashley Young has snubbed us for United.
Another one that got my interest was Berbatov to Tottenham for 10M. That would probably mean Defoe would be on his way, wouldn't be suprised if Liverpool stuck a bid in for him if it is true.

Is CaughtOffside a reliable source? {Ed002's Note - Typically such sites pull information from other sources and collate it. The best test of "goodness" is to search for Coentrao and see if they are on Ed002's side of the fence (the Good Guys - cheer) or the "on the way to Liverpool", "deal agreed" or "Kenny told price" side of the fence (the Bad Guys - boo). That is the new standard test of sport web site goodness.}

ed who is the most likeliest striker to come to liverpool {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to answer that I am afraid without heading for fairly safe answer of perhaps Gervinho. You see, what if Liverpool fail to offer enough money for a target; what if his club won't sell; what if the player won't move?}

I have been told that Liverpool have agreed a fee with Valencia for the Signing of Mata, the fee is believed to be around £22m raising to £26m if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League next season YNWA

Can you give us a source?

LFC already have Marveaux, expect Payet to also arrive.

Hey ed just wondering what you think of eljero Elia and weather we still in the running following the interest shown in January. Know he is loking for an exit out of Hamburg. Great site by the way
{Ed013's Note - I am a big fan of elia and I do believe we are still interested it is up too whether his club is going to sell him}

Not many new rumours here today, but if I was Dalglish I'd be looking at strengthing CB, LB, LW, CM & ST.

Phil Jones and Scott Dann have been strongly linked with Liverpool, If I was to choose out of the both I'd go with Jones. Enrique seems the man who is ideal for the LB position, not keen on that fella from Celtic who has been linked, another one is this Marveux guy, personally I wouldn't buy him because he is Injury prone. For the LW position I'd go for Ashley Young or Marin, Liverpool have a chance at signing either of them. For CM I'm gonna say Charlie Adam because of the fantastic season he had with Blackpool. Heard a lot of Mccarthy rumours also, but I'd rather have Adam. Finally for the ST position It's gonna be someone big, Comolli stated that we need 3 quality strikers (already have two) and I can actually see a decent striker coming in. Maybe Gervinho, or who knows Aguero or Benzema?

They seem like realistic targets but not only do we need to buy but also get rid of some players. Poulsen, Jovanovic, Ngog and Agger. Could get around 15M for those players. Also I don't see Friedel joining Liverpool, he's 40 years old so why would he wanna play as backup keeper? Post In rumours please ed, thanks.

Hi ed, how kean are lfc on Perotti and how do you rate our chances if signing him? Think he'd be a more cost effective alternative to Mata. Cheers, TomRed
{Ed013's Note - Liverpool are interested in him as DC is a big fan although I would only rate our chances at 4/10 as no offers confirmed at the moment.}

Barton has just also said he hasn't been offered a new contract. I think he is on his way to us!

Few stories I have heard from trusted people about few clubs
1)Liverpool- Marveaux and Adam all but done Dc has had talks with Mata and they may still go on and a bid may be put, Perotti Dzsudzsak all are monitored as well as Downing, Scot Dann/Phil Jones, Enrique/Cissokho are main defensive targets
(also in other news if anyone is interested about Stoke city Cameron Jerome is a done deal, Mark Noble is very possible )

29 May 2011 15:35:53
whats the chances on mata coming ed? {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, whilst there is known interest from Liverpool I suspect he may end up elsewhere as interest is also being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and it has since been quiet. As such, it would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join.}

Cheers again anyway {Ed002's Note - I'll do what I can to answer this. Your "fact" that certain journalists use the site to bring you secret messages is incorrect. There are a couple of journalists who have used the site to look for snippets that me be worth following up etc., and one of those does post regularly. As for "relationships" with such journalists, damn lies - I don't care what the National Enquirer said.}

Cheers ed, again I didn't mean it in a derogatory way with the info, if anything it's a good thing because it shows that they not only use this site to glean info but to also contribute towards it.

And it's also a good source to know now that you already openly admit that you've one on board:)

But the truth is that we all take the banter of posts that kun was seen at John Lennon airport with a pinch of salt etc as it should be..

But the truth is sometimes it becomes a bit clouded when some people convince certain other posters etc and then mass hysteria breaks out, but when a true "rumour" is then posted it becomes a bit harder to differentiate from the avalanche of mis-informed posts, but it's also good to know that you guys also have knowledge of who is a genuine poster et al.

Cheers again ed, also look forward to having some info soon because, despite your realistic outlook, I have an optimistic outlook that something may happen which will actually shock quite a few people....and as hard as it sounds maybe even you(ed2:)

Sources telling me the following big news:

A fee has been placed for Mata. At around the £18 million mark. Valencia has told LFC that they must improve the offer to the £21 million mark before realistic negotiations can begin.

Nothing on Aqua. Like his agent said, his future will be decided soon.

ALSO...EXITING NEWS!...
LFC are believed to be keeping a very close eye on Aly Cissoko, the current LB for LYON. Very young, and determined. May be available for around the £15 million mark.

Jonathan Biabiany of Inter is ment to be on the radar. There may or may not be a move for him, as it is known that he is quite happy at Inter and wants to play in the Champions League and never mind no Europe. Speedy RM and can defiantly see the appeal. Suits NESV's young-potential category (all three do actually) and he would be available for a similar price as Cissoko.

So in essence, we know and we've known for YEARS now, that the owners have to spend big if we want to see this club going forward.
And now we have promised money it'll be interesting how the King will spend it.

Ill keep you updated when I find out more.

hey ed, do u think it's possible for liverpool to buy Drogba or Aguero for a 3rd striker... downing to liverpool for 15m. and the lb solution who do you think liverpool we'll get in that position ?? {Ed002's Note - (1) I very much doubt that Aguero or Drogba will be joing as Liverpool's third striker; (b) there is a chance of Downing possibly; (c) a bid has been rejected for Enrique - perhaps a higher successful bid will be made?}

29 May 2011 14:41:18
As I said before liverpool have been told to come back to the Mata situation and increase the bid to around 25mill (euros) which maybe add-ons, the revised bid should be made at the end of next week. Numerous of other players are being looked at, some are very ambitious however if you don't go into the market showing ambition and keen you might as well just go for under par players. A lot of speculation about Cissoko. Lyon have been contacted and that's regarding the Cissoko, Gourcuff and Pijanic. Although I am not sure what has been said.

The player Liverpool are looking at from Valencia is Pablo Hernandez not mata I no he is winger but no nothing more of him I heard we tried to sign him in January any eds no more about him or of interest ? {Ed002's Note - Fiorentina and Napoli have shown an interest.}

29 May 2011 13:45:40
It seems raul meireles could be the main target of a Spanish team, not sure which one tbh.
Ps. Did anyone see javier mascheranos interview after the match last night, saying that the victory was for the Liverpool fans aswell, because he knew they were sad with him for leaving.
Wonder is he trying to suck up for a move back?

Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi is keen to keep hold of England U17 pair Max Clayton and Nick Powell.

The attacking duo are interesting Liverpool and Arsenal.

"I saw the two boys who are off to Mexico. I don't want them to be taken in by the Premier League boys showing off their big watches, " Gradi told the Mail on Sunday.

"They'll get first-team football here and we pay them OK. They can afford to buy a car, it just won't be a Ferrari."

29 May 2011 13:35:07
Ed have Liverpool ever expressed interest in Sahko I know arsenal were leading the chase but it looks like there new number for cb is Vertonghen and samba. Who is leading the chase for Sahko now I think he would be a great signing if Agger leaves.

29 May 2011 13:22:11
Sylvain Marveaux has signed a pre contract to join the mighty reds this summer (its on the official LFC site, in the transfer rumour section). No statement of LFC yet but it looks nailed on.
Is he any good eds? Never heard of him until a few weeks ago.

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts then.}

29 May 2011 13:16:23
We should be looking at:

Santa Cruz from City - would be a handy back up striker and would get back to his best under Kenny

Clichy from Arsenal - LB would be under 10m

Marco Estrada from Montpellier - LB and Chilean regular who can score and had good aerial skills.

Vargas or Pasqual from Fiorentina - Both are great LB and able to play midfield and are great crossers and passers.

I'd love to see Alonso and Riise return but prob notgoing to happen.

29 May 2011 13:12:25
Players i would love to see this summer

Aguero - 40m - Very good pace scores about 20 goals a season and has wished his desire to move , also stick suarez on wing as he has alot of pace and cuts through players like there not there.

Bent - 15 - goal machine dont no what the possability of him leaving is in the summer but would love to see him at liverpool 20+ a season

Mata - 20m - Very young very good as what ive seen from him on youtube as he can score goals and he can also provoid good crosses for carroll

Adam - 9m - Very good commanding midfielder as he has shown for blackpool throughout the season not afraid to make a tackle as shown on bale and very good with set pieces

Enrique - 10m - Strong as a bull in leftback position just as good as cole for getting down the wings and supplying crosses and hardly no player gets past him without a fight

Mcarthy - 10m - Very close to signing dont really rate the player but guess he is on for the futre

Elia - 9m - Havent seen much but heard he is good

Marveaux - 0m - Also havent seen much but also heard he is meant to be good

Last but not least Friedal - 0m - Good replacement and backup for reina and good for a coaching coach once retired

Ed can you tell me what is the possablity of signing bent 1/10 and if we did how much do you think he would go for please reply back :D {Ed002's Note - somewhere between 0/10 and 1/10}

29 May 2011 12:59:49
liverpool have to try there hardest and try and buy phil jones from blackburn perfect replacement to take over from the legend carragher.

29 May 2011 12:56:59
Liverpool to make a solid move for the 20 year old Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic, the spanish football of serbian decent is desperate to move to the premier league and Liverpool fit the bill as the team to challenge Man utd for next seasons honours.

possible announcement on the 1st july on his arrival {Ed002's Note - There is also interest from Valencia, Arsenal, Dortmund and Bayern Munich. It was suggested to me a couple on months ago by a very well respected football pundit that Bojan may be offered up as part of a deal to take Juan Mata to Barcelona.}

29 May 2011 12:40:13
Charlie Adam is going to be coming in regardless of which midfielders leave this summer. However, James mccarthy will only be coming once a buyer for aqualani is found. In other areas we have agreed a fee for Mata, agreed a pre-contract with marveaux, are pushing through for a deal with Jose enrique and have opened early talks with villa for downing, Birmingham for dann and let for sakho.

hey ed just heard lfc may take a 10 million hit on aqualani if that happens lfc will be known 2 b complete fools in the transfer market my god please dont let this happen {Ed002's Note - Not Liverpool so much as benitez. The previous owners succumbed to giving the power to Benitez and the deal he offered to Roma could have been much, much better. Now everyone has moved on and I suspect a £10M hit is about the measure. There will be no impact on Liverpool in the future.}

29 May 2011 11:41:25
ed have you heard of georginio wijnaldum? he s a great player {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and Real Madrid have all shown an interest in recent months.}

29 May 2011 11:27:24
Ed who have we definitely bid for already this summer?
Cheers ed, great site, please post {Ed002's Note - It is not so much a case of bidding, but notably discussions are continuing for several players including the likes of Marveaux and McCarthy. You will gain a much better perspective by reading through all of the posts.}

29 May 2011 11:09:59
hey ed any updates on any of the french players weve been looking at?DORSET RED
{Ed013's Note - We have been closely linked with marveaux again and he publicly stated he is moving to the EPL next season. We have placed a offer Hazard with a host of other clubs. We are linked with gervinho as he wont sign a new contract. Lastly DC is a fan of Sakho and there is rumours of interest but nothing concrete}
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ED how about Dimitri Payet? I think that he is a better version of Ashly young for the right wing.
miccmak

{Ed002's Note - The opposition for Payet will be Paris Saint Germain and possibly Lille. I think there is a fair chance and we know that there is interest and that Comolli has at least approached his old employer.}

29 May 2011 10:58:09
Hiya Folks,

I have a genuine source at LFC (not an executive or anything like that but high enough up to hear genuine news regarding everything) who has told me that these 3 signings are definately going to happen and should be sealed before July 1.

- Juan Mata (Valencia)
Fee is yet to be agreed but is over £20m. His agent is holding the deal off at the minute waiting for other clubs to come in. Man City are there but Mata is only a back up option to them who are going for Alexis Sanchez. Man Utd are only keeping tabs on him and have not contacted Valencia regarding a transfer. Liverpool made a formal offer of £18.3m which was told to increase to £21m and a deal could be done.

- James McCarthy (Wigan)
Personal Terms will be agreed reasonably quickly and the fee shouldn't be a problem either and will be the 2nd OFFICIAL signing to make the press. Fee will be around the £9.5m mark give or take.

- Sylvain Marveaux (Rennes)
Possibly the worst kept secret this summer regarding transfers. This deal IS done but no transfers are allowed to be discussed in the press which is why this deal hasn't been publically acknowledged by anybody at the club but it has been done since February.

After these 3 signings, expect a Left Back to definately be signed and possibly a Centre Back and another understudy striker if there is a viable option for the club. Below is a list of targets.

- DL Emilio Izaguirre (Celtic) £4m
- DL Jose Enrique (Newcastle) £9m
- DC Phil Jones (Blackburn) £14m
- DC Scott Dann (Birmingham) £7m
- DC James Tomkins (West Ham) £4m
- ST Connor Wickham (Ipswich) £12m
- ST Gervinho (Lille) £12m
- ST Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea) £8m

29 May 2011 10:43:35
Ed02 what is your full opinion on Elia? {Ed002's Note - Elia looked nailed on for Valencia and I think may be a good prospect. Liverpool walked away from the asking price in January but may be interested again. If not, I suspect he may stay another year in Hamburg. Arsenal have also shown an interest. He is a good player - but not a great player.}

29 May 2011 10:34:10
Ed what are the chances of lavezzi sighning for lfc {Ed002's Note - I think there is a possibility, but keep in mind that Liverpool's interest in Lavezzi pre-dates the January window. He has an agent in Frederic Guerra who does a really good job of talking up his players without being pushy; and a fabulous technique where he denies interest in his players from major clubs thereby attracting attention to them. It is also possible that he will stay at Napoli - who do say he is not for sale.}

29 May 2011 10:31:06
I know it's a random one but what about darren bent as a striker, the lad is a monster in front of goal scores 20+ a season, and with the mangers postion not sorted at villa, would it be worth an offer eds?

{Ed002's Note - So who would you sell, Suarez or Carroll?}

My reliable source in Holland has told me that Liverpool is in advanced talk with PSV striker Jonathan Reis, who is a free agent, to finalize personal terms. I hear that he is very talented but had a trouble some personal life.

Eds, do you think we should take him as a gamble?

{Ed002's Note - He has a serious injury and that alone makes it very high risk. Certainly would not be of any use to the team until sometime in 2012.}

---------

Re above:
As well as the from the injury Reis' time at PSV has not always been as good. At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the Eindhoven side tore up the striker's previous contract after he had failed a drugs test and subsequently refused the club's help. Also known as coming back from Brazil in an extremely "fatigued" condition. And his contrfact has come to an ebd.

Morning reds / eds
Just a passing reflection but many Lpool fans said they'd wished Torres had gone to Barca when he left.
I can't see how he'd have fitted in there, they don't play with an orthodox CF !
Who are Barca's targets & are any of them also in our radar ed?
KB {Ed002's Note - Barcelona are near certain to take Villarreal's striker Giuseppe Rossi and have recently had folks looking at Santos' Neymar, although that is one transfer that is much less likely to happen. The other major signing that may happen is Pastore from Palermo. None of these players are on the "radar" of Liverpool.}

29 May 2011 09:45:32
please bye big liverpool if i had the cash and was looking for realistic buys this is the list id want.

BRAD FRIEDLE...aston villa keeper great num 2 and free transfer

GARY CAHILL..... commanding defender and carragher replacement

PHIL JONES......this lad is the buiss and can cover defensive midfield as well

LEIGHTON BAINES..best left back in premiership

ADAM JOHNSON...right winger must be getting pi***d at lack of games at city

JUAN MATA.....the big buy the fans are after

JAMES MILNER..can play on either wing and in middle

DARREN BENT ...might seem a strange one as just moved but this guy is a goal machine and 25 a season for sure.

29 May 2011 09:45:21
I wish Liverpool fans on here would stop having a go at the Editors. You're only happy when you here what you want to here if you don't like there opinion then don't bother coming on here. Realistically we havnt got European football even if we did get Europa League it still wouldn't be good enough to attract the likes of A.Sanchez, Aguero and Hazard, Hulk, Neymar, Cissokho ect. .who all want Champions League football. I know Suarez left Ajax to play for us. But he was a one off he had desire to where the red shirt and Liverpool where the only offer on the table at the time. He wanted to test himself in a new league.

Realistically players like Downing, N'Zogbia, Enrique, C Adam ect will be the type we get until we break back into the top 4. Ashley Young looks to have all but sealed a move to Man Utd, thank god. Scott Dann looks subject to a bid from Aston Villa, but we will sign him no doubt if we decided to make a move.

Realistic targets will be (not say we will sign) but we will have drawn up.

C.N'Zogbia
C.Adam
E.Elia
S.Downing
S.Dann
S.Marveaux
D.Payet
B.Matuidi
B.Friedel
J.McCarthy
R.Van Wolfswinkel
E.Izaguirre
M.Sissoko
C.Wickham

If Liverpool where to to sign E.Elia and D.Payet they wouldn't have done to bad in the wing department. Maybe use R.Sterling more and get one of these. With S.Marveaux look to contest the wings too.

Midfield department no matter what you say still lacks creativity Spearing rubbish footballer but good engine still needs to prove himself for me, Lucas, his all round game has improved but his engine and pace is a still a concern. Gerrard is our most potent attacking midfielder. Merieles is a good attacking midfielder but drifts in and out of games to much for me. Shelvey looking better all the time, maybe a spell on loan would help him a lot.

I think two midfielders is a must too. C.Adam still looks most realistic option and B.Matuidi also too.

I think M.Sissoko will be a Liverpool player in the future a direct replacement for S.Gerrard.

S.Dann is the only defender I want he is young still, solid and is a scouser and a Liverpool fan. A direct replacement for J.Carragher.
Forget M.Sakho and G.Cahill these are overpriced plus G.Cahill is over rated.

J.Enrique is not everyones cup of tea but he is a solid left back. Liverpool will not be held to ransom over his price so maybe E.Izaguirre might still be in the frame but forget about L.Baines, A.Cissokho and F.Coentrao. But Liverpool missed out on T.Taiwo, he is as solid as they come he really stood out against Man Utd can't believe Liverpool never tryed to sign him he was a free transfer and a area we needed to strengthen.

Liverpool will not spend 57 million for A.Carroll and L.Suarez just for one of them to sit on the bench why we buy a 30 million plus striker like K.Benzema and S.Aguero. Liverpool will look to buy a reasonably cheap up and coming striker who is around the 10 million pound bracket like C.Wickham or my hopeful target R.Van Wolfswinkel.

Thanks for reading, please post this Eds

ed who do you think we will sign and why? {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to answer that I am afraid without heading for the obvious answer of Sylvain Marveaux. Eds need some help a mate of mine has said Mccarthy from Wigan for 10 million and Barton from Newcastle on a free, is he talking sense? Bob {Ed002's Note - Barton certainly won't be free. Perhaps £4M or £5M. From my perspective any word of a move for Barton should be taken with a pinch of salt. But what do I know.}

My reliable source in Holland has told me that Liverpool is in advanced talk with PSV striker Jonathan Reis, who is a free agent, to finalize personal terms. I hear that he is very talented but had a trouble some personal life.

Eds, do you think we should take him as a gamble?

{Ed002's Note - He has a serious injury and that alone makes it very high risk. Certainly would not be of any use to the team until sometime in 2012.}

KD and DC have narrowed the list down to 8. People who are not interested in us wont be bid for.

Mata - 17.3m (fee agreed)
Gervinho - 13m (1st bid of 9m rejected)
Downing - 16m (prefers us to Spurs, KD rates him)
Jones - 10m (only enquiries made atm, BR willing to sell at right price)
Cissokho - 14m (KD + DC rate him, he wants a move to us)
Adam - 7m (done)
Matuidi - 10m (advanced talks, fee agreed)
Friedel/Green/Douchez - Free (DC wants competition for all places)

Am I the only person on this site who doesn't want aguaro to sign for us? With the news that he is just after money ( ed 2) I say, let the likes of man city have him. I could sort of understand him wanting champions league football, but to pick clubs like juve and roma just shows what a mercenary he is. I wouldn't say that he is the type of player I want either. I want genuine width, someone with frightening pace and good delivery. Don't see how we can get the best out of Carroll otherwise. Cheers, big steve177

ED !
don't you think we should go for ibrahim affiely ? he is not getting his playing time at barca .so we should make a bid for him.i heard that camolli is big fan of him. {Ed002's Note - I supect Barcelona would be open to a good offer. Arsenal may be an option if Barcelona wish to sweeten a deal for Fabregas.}

just lookin' through the PFA transfer list on givemfootball.com at players between the age of 16-20, Thomas Cruise of Arsenal is a LB that i thought was ok.

{Ed002's Note - Given he has been released by Arsenal and has little or no experience at the top leve, it is tough to see how he will give more than the many left backs that are already on Liverpool's books. I rather think the answer to the left back problems are elsewhere.}

"As we stand right now Liverpool are out of the loop. If they wish to get involved they know what they will need to do but I would suspect there is only the slimmest of chances of him moving to Anfield. It is all about money.}"

Fair play Ed02, top explanation. Thanks for your effort, I didn't post the question, but I am very greatfull for the awnser, so again thanks for the effort you put into the website.

Bob loblaw. {Ed002's Note - The interesting thing Bob is that clubs are not just kowtowing to the demands, so it may well be the case that Liverpool take a punt at Aguero.}

izaguirre will be one of the first signings by dalglish this summer...we have enquired and celtic say he is not available, the player wants the move however and it will be pushed from there...lennon wants big money for him, but they will find it hard to turn down 10m...the king is also looking at Ki, but wants the honduran lad first.I said this a month ago when i got the info from a mate thats in with celtic, but things have moved on..
personal opinion, i dont think we will sign anyone from a premier league club, except james McCarthy, which i have been told, by people that work in the FAI that he will leave, wigan are poised to sell him on, thats why he did not play in the ireland game during the week.

Interesting to read that Demba Ba has a proposed clause in his contract that allows him to leave for free due to West Ham's relegation. If we could pick him up on a three, I think we would be covered for our forward positions, and save us quite a bit. Good player, very strong in the air and on the ball and a great goalscorer, could be what we need as a third forward. Are you aware of this clause ed, or is it just paper talk?

{Ed002's Note - I understand that whilst he may well available for free, he has a number of options available which make me think even if Liverpool did show interest that he probably would not want to be a squad player. Certainly Newcastle and Everton have an interest and both Lokomotiv Moscow and Standard Liege are also trying to persuade the player to move to them. He will be looking for first team football.}

say if the stumbling block to signing kun is the wages we would have to pay im sure he could make up for it in merchandise as i don't see 40m a problem as we spent 35m on carroll. and player sales woul cover most of the costs if all the players leave that are seen as surplus to requirements. we wouldn't need to spend on our front line again if the player from the academy keep developing as much as they are now; (morgan, ngoo) also wingers and midfield and including defence if all goes well. so my strat would be to spend big ONCE and over time invest heavily in the youth so that you would never have to be put in this pos again. barca are doin it 7 players from their academy tonight starting and a few on the bench; suarez, bojan etc. and i think suso can be the next kaka or ozil if he develops right physically, both coady and shelvey remind me of gerrard and in sterling i see a bit of wilshere but played out wide where he scores.

Hi ED read every post every day.... I knw Augero is a long shot but you carry on saying that he's in talks with Juve (which i havent seen confirmed on any website) what do Juve have above us??? No european football not as much history and not as much future intent so why would he go there instead of us (that is if we do post a interest in him???) Hope you post as this is my first post

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry that you have been unable to find confirmation of any talks with Juventus on any website. Obviously that is entirely out of my control, but it does sound a bit like you don't believe me, but you believe what you read on random web sites. Perhaps I could take you back to earlier this week when many, many random web sites and Sky Sports News all reported that Liverpool were in discussions, had made a bid and had an offer accepted for Cointrao. I took days of abuse from the Liverpool fans who failed to accept my saying from the start it was nonsense and there was no involvement between Liverpool and Coentrao at all. And who was correct?

As for Aguero, both Chelsea and Manchester United failed to put a package together that was acceptable to the player after discussions with his representatives. Juventus then spent two days with his representatives and whilst we don't know whether they came up with the right package for the player, but they did make an offer to Atletico Madrid, which was rejected. I don't see Chelsea going back with another package for the player just yet. I would not yet entirely rule out Real Madrid regardless of what has been said. Again I am not so sure Manchester United have completely removed themselves from the equation after failing, like Chelsea, to put a package together that would be acceptable to the player. Now we have Aguero and his representatives trying to get Roma to make a bid. As we stand right now Liverpool are out of the loop. If they wish to get involved they know what they will need to do but I would suspect there is only the slimmest of chances of him moving to Anfield. It is all about money.}

I think we will get ozil too but forget Aguero at anfield he's not coming what you think ed ? {Ed002's Note - I don't think Oezil will be sold by Real Madrid. They have bought in Sahin and are about to start tirimming. Both are seen as future first choices. As for Aguero, both Chelsea and Manchester United failed to put a package together that was acceptable to the player after discussions with his representatives. Juventus spent two days with his representatives and we don't know whether they came up with the right package for the player, but they did make an offer to Atletico Madrid, which was rejected. I would not entirely discount Real Madrid from the equation just yet. As we stand at the moment, Liverpool have not made any approach.}

I honestly believe that we need 0 new players next season.
Team is playing well, spearing is like a 20 mill new signing, sterling and suso to be stars, shelvey looks good.
Then carroll suarez and kuyt up front.
And if Joe cole gets a little confidence, he could be a big player.
Wickham and mata would be nice, but not altogether necessary. We have the players, we have the manager.
Put the money into anfield, and look towards increasing long term revenues. An overhaul is the last thing needed, with such momentum built up second half of last season.

Liverpool have stuck to their policy of investing in promising youth this week. Benny Noon[Irish] and Carl Fowi[Belgian] have been shown around the academy. Both are 15.

29 May 2011 00:43:03
david ngog is not on the transfer list eds. the only liverpool player that is, is young steven irwin. check out the pfa transfer list on givemefootball, all transfer listed players are on there. {Ed002's Note - I haven't checked but I rather thought the PFA list only covers free transfers as the PFA are there to help players out.}

29 May 2011 00:41:59
ed on the striker situation are we looking at a young player with potential such as lukaku or muniain or the finished product.DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - I am not convinced that the striker is the highest priority. Chelsea, Spurs, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax, AC Milan have shown an interest over recent months. Anderlecht want €30M and priced the player out of the market. His agent is now hawking him around a number of clubs trying to muster up interest. There may be interest in Muniain but it is quiet right now. Gervinho has certainly attracted the interest of Liverpool.}

29 May 2011 00:22:54
I've got a feeling in my gut that we're going to get Ozil. Fits the bill, might be up for the move and would be a statement of intent. Might be open to a move after a frustrating season. I'd love to see the little bulgey-eyed genius in red.

Ed do you no who the agent is who is coming to anfield on monday and do you no the latest on aguero them questions are asked because it is on the kop talk website and it is not allowing me on to have a look for myself for some wiered reason please reply {Ed013's Note - i am not sure on who the agent is and Augero has only been approached by juve}

There is talk for Lpool signing big players; Mata, Aguero, Coentrao, etc..
but is anyone else worried we wont sign any and just sign average players eg. Parker, Dann, Adam, Enrique, friedal etc... not saying there not good i just wouldnt be happy if that is all we signed
YNWA
Red Rob - JFT96 {Ed002's Note - The focus has to be on improving and strngthening the squad in particular positions, some of which do not carry the glamour of a £30M striker.}

hey ed any updates on any of the french players weve been looking at?DORSET RED
{Ed013's Note - We have been closely linked with marveaux again and he publicly stated he is moving to the EPL next season. We have placed a offer Hazard with a host of other clubs. We are linked with gervinho as he wont sign a new contract. Lastly DC is a fan of Sakho and there is rumours of interest but nothing concrete}

I have just recieved an email with news about the potential signing of Mata. Valencia are willing to sell for about £20M. There are 3 clubs looking at him, Liverpool, City and Man U. However, Man U only have a minor interest in him but us and city are serious about signing him. The player himself is undecided. There have been no bids so far and the player is waiting to see if any other clubs come in. He is cautious about joining city because he doesn't think he would not be a key player for them and is therefore not an automatic starter. His agent is encouraging him to go to city because of the obvious financial reards for both of them but he would prefer first team football over money. He therefore feels Liverpool are his best possiible destination at the moment.

Also, my source tells me that the Liverpool owners are going to be spending serious money over the next 2 or 3 windows. Carroll, as Comolli said, was a summer target and was only signed because Torres left meaning that we were prepared to spend bg in this window regardless. They have punlically stated that there will be a marque signing. It is possible Mata might not be it.

One man who won't be it though is Sergio Auero. We can afford him but he is adament that he wants to join a club in the champions league. If he is still ay Atletico in a couple of years time, we may sign him.

Finally, Liverpool have no intesrest in Downing, Jarvis, M'villa, Barton, young or Benzema. Some are because they are not good enough others have never been looked at according to my source.
