Hi Eds,

I see Caulker has signed for Cardiff. I was under the impression that we held an interest in him? I would have thought he'd have been a good back-up option, something I'm lead to believe we're looking for.

Was there ever interest in him from us?

Cheers,

Raoul {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Excellent signing for Cardiff. They moved quickly to get it done hats off to them

And nor should there ever be any interest in him.

Luis Gustavo available for 15million why not {Ed002's Note - Don't hold your breath.}

Believable3 Unbelievable20

I no but still

Agree1 Disagree1

Ed, you said " don't hold your breath". Do you mean he will not like to come to Liverpool Fc or we cannot afford him? If it is the latter then what is the weight of the FSG claiming they can compete with any top club in Europe? Your answer would be enough. Thanks for your good job. {Ed002's Note - He won't be moving to Liverpool. You have no grasp of the financial aspects judging by your previous post.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Off to Wolfsburg isn't he? Shame, I think he'd be great next to Gerrard

Agree0 Disagree1

Liverpool have there own targets that's why not.

Agree1 Disagree0

Paulinho much better player. and Wanyama much more suitable for us. if we didn't go for either, we won't be getting Gustavo

Which clubs are interested in him Ed02?

Mike {Ed002's Note - Inter Milan, Wolfsburg and Chelsea are interested. He wants to stay at Bayern Munich but they would like to see him move on.}

Any interest in quintero eds? Colombian forward/winger who plays at pescara. {Ed002's Note - Pescara's Quintero will move this summer with what seemed his likely destination of Genoa perhaps worrying about interest from Benfica, Porto and Rubin Kazan.}

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Hasn't he already officially moved to Porto? {Ed002's Note - It seems he has.}

He's moved to Porto already hasn't he?

Suarez (sorry but it seems key to our other dealings this summer) is he still 100% going? If so have we a timescale in place? Would be foolish to leave it too close to the transfer window closing.

Thanks

RedLee {Ed002's Note - He wants out, it is no secret. It is down to what happens with interest from elsewhere. His agent has been doing the rounds.}

Believable7 Unbelievable14

Other than Arsenal, do any other teams retain a serious interest ED? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing beyond what has been discussed but plenty of time still.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will end up at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree1

What I fear is he hands in a transfer request on the deadline day or nearer to that and we fail to get any replacement. I am sure the club learnt a lesson from the Torres and Raul Miereless (spelling) cases. Certainly Aspas et al are not Suarez's replacement.

Agree0 Disagree1

I hope he leaves soon. I can't bear the sulking. Such primadonas some of these footballers. Fair enough if he wants to leave but don't sulk. I'd be laughed out of the office if I was sulking around because I wasn't getting my own way.

Some of these footballers need to open their eyes to see how good they've got it.

Agree5 Disagree0

I hate modern football, we all loved Suarez last season for his ridiculous talent and his goals (something he lack the season before). Now we have him refusing to celebrate with teammates for a goal he has set up! In an ideal world he should rot in the reserves until he begs forgiveness. Instead we play games to get the most money. Now all I can think of is that the bite on Ivanovich was a conscious decision to get a big ban and promote a move. Suarez is dead to me.

31 Jul 2013 23:32:14
Sorry eds but while we're on the subject. after a fees days of positive articles and quotes from the echo, do you think it will be a move abroad or he'll stay?! Probably just wishful thinking but I think LFCs stance on the matter seems quite strong at the moment! Feel free to slate me for asking this {Ed002's Note - I could only guess right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares if he sulks? If the club deem selling him to be worse than keeping him while he sulks, then so be it. If he takes the sulking too far and misses training, etc, then he will be fined accordingly.

Hi, Ed's if we do get this Melgarejo guy, do you think this will end our pursuit of Aly Cissokho? {Ed002's Note - I would think so.}

I know he just moved in january and all but he wants to move to england he has openly said it.

Melgarejo from benefica is a done deal pending medical and work permit. Deal is a one year loan with an option to purchase after one year for around 7 million. This guy is very capable as an attacker/winger but needs to improve as a left back. He has very good ability with the ball and is very fast. He has goals in him and can beat a man one in one no problem. The manger at benefica switched him to left back exactly like he did with Fabio Coantraou. Many of the Benfica fans were furious that the manager would not switch him back to a more attacking role as he clearly struggled playing in the defensive role. I am very curious to see what Rodgers plans to do with him because as of now he is not an improvement defensively over Enrique. If he decides to play him as a winger then he could become a very good player.

Believable34 Unbelievable10

Maybe Downing will be used to compete with Enrique for the LB spot

Red Raw

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm not being sizeist but this guy is five feet five inches, won't he struggle with Crouch at the back post in the first match?

Agree3 Disagree0

Really hope this is true

Agree3 Disagree0

I think BR is looking for more flexibility in the squad now. A few times towards the end of the season he looked to play 3 centre halves and push the full backs on more. I agree with your point about this guy not thought to be the best defensively, but maybe seen as a "wing back" for when BR wants to use this system and I am sure they will work hard on his defensive game with him, just as they have with Johnno who improved his defensive game a lot last season.

Agree4 Disagree0

In all seriousness, why such hostility? This is a genuine post on a site dedicated to rumors. Take the attitude elsewhere.

Thanks

Agree6 Disagree1

I think he will be used more as a back up lb/regular winger. Apparently he is not very good defensively, but can be quite effective going forward. Anyways, we still need a pacey, skillfull LW who can get into the box and score - not like downing who instinctually goes away from the box.

Agree3 Disagree1

I feel like he could be useful when Rodgers decides to go with 3 in the back. Use him as a wing back like Enrique, but this lad seems more attack minded

Agree1 Disagree1

Jack Aspinall - I'm an LFC fan who watched a considerable amount of European football last year and I can tell you that what the poster said about his defensive abilities is true. He looked very vulnerable defensively last year but no one is doubting his attacking prowess.

Your ridiculous comment telling the poster to 'shut up' isn't necessary. This is a rumours and opinion site and it doesn't help with negative persons like you on here.

Agree6 Disagree0

I did some research on this chap yesterday and all the reports suggested that he was being played out of pisition. I wonder if BR wants to use him in his true position on the LW - could work out well!

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said Sean lad, my thoughts exactly.

Any truths to this rumour eds? {Ed002's Note - There will be no deal until the work permit situation is figured out.}

Id agree with the whole Wing Back theory completely. i'm also chuffed that we have taken the loan to buy option, as Rodgers is obviously unsure about whether this guy can cut the mustard in the way he wants.
I believe the role he will play will be similar to Marcelo for Brazil in the Confeds, who was almost non existent at LB most of the game with Luiz covering, and simply getting back when were defending.
Like I say he's giving the lad an opportunity to prove his worth to cover LB/LW but has not taken too much of a gamble, which he would have done if he'd signed him permanantly straight from the off. I hope the Rodgers Out crew are watching because that's a shrewd bit of business there.

Anfield Andy

Agree2 Disagree1

Could he be bought as the LW as we have been going for? cheers eds {Ed002's Note - Maybe.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Or as an offensive LB, since Coutinho on our left wing are constantly movin in toward the space between FWD and midfield, we need a pacey LB that kan be a threat (like marcelo, dani Alves) on the left side. On our right we have good With usually With Johnson moving up a lot.

And With two cb and on def mid, and one sitting mid fielder (gerrard/Allen) we have 4 guys home to cover any counter attacks, and at the same time 6 players attacking the opponents defense. Like every other good team.

I like this move, looks like another good piece of business to Complete the Puzzle.

Don't think Chelsea would be in for Suarez, he'll have more headlines than Mourinho. Mourinho could not cope with that.

Believable86 Unbelievable6

According to itk, spurs will throw their hat in the ring for suarez when and if bale goes? So if the papers and itk are true they could have some serious team? Sandro, paulinho, dembele-suarez, modric & soldado!

Agree1 Disagree3

Jermaine Defoe as well!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Can't imagine Suarez going to Spurs though, they aren't in the Champions League either

Agree4 Disagree0

Modric?

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha - If we are reluctant to sell to Arsenal we will defiantly not sell to the Spuds - plus Suarez apparently wants CL footy and last time I checked Spurs aren't in the CL!

Agree5 Disagree0

Mourinho could handle him or Rooney.

Agree1 Disagree1

Why would Suarez go to Tottenham??

Agree4 Disagree0

Maybe but london in itself is a pull! And looking at both teams I'd rather sign for spurs

Agree0 Disagree4

I actually think that if Suarez went to chelsea with the magic trio behind him, they would be likely BPL winners and who knows where they could go in CL. Mourinho is a strong manager and excellent man manager, so maybe he can come up with a strategy for LS. I don't see Torres making it with Mourinho, I also don't think rayne wooney is going to solve Chelsea's striker problems, he plays much deeper these days, he likes his fags and pies too much.

Agree3 Disagree3

31 Jul 2013 15:55:12

Wouldnt be surprised if Torres came back here either.

The rumour about Rondon seems to be a recycled one from last year. Eds? Have you got anything new on this today?

Puzzled Red {Ed002's Note - No.}

31 Jul 2013 07:52:25
So, Gossip links us to Rondon? Is this out of the blue? Iv not seen his name on here as being linked with a move to us? Eds any info?

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable6 Unbelievable19

No.!

Great answer. You may aswell ask the dog. Isn't this supposed to be a rumour site? It is a possibilty as no smoke without fire fellow red man.

Ynwa

Agree1 Disagree4

Surely moving from Malaga to Anzi he'll be on a large wage which LFC wouldn't be able to offer. So I don't see us going for him. Shame

Agree1 Disagree0

I am not so sure to be honest. in my opinion I feel three more faces will come in and rondon isn't one off them.
papa, eriksen, torres, just my opinion tho. I do feel Liverpool may try there luck with chelsea regarding torres. (if suarez leaves) skirtle is looking likely to leave so papa will replace him. and eriksen I feel there is genuin interest.

would be 3 good signings papa is 21-22? same age as eriksen? you then have young blood as well as coutinho. bright future I say

Agree2 Disagree2

Two Dogs, what would you prefer their honest opinion on whether or not we have shown any interest or them to tell lies for the craic?

Agree1 Disagree1

Two Dogs clearly can't read. Ed was asked if he had any info on Rondon, he said no- as in he had no info of his own, he didn't say no to the possibility of Rondon to Liverpool. Simples.

While I'm not a person ITK, I have family that can occasionally provide information.

There are big changes planned for the academy and melwood facilities. Both are to be relocated into a single location, where both youth and first team players train together. I heard a possible location is the Stanley Park site that was offered as part of the stadium project. The owners and BR are trying to change the culture at the club from what I hear.

There is also plans to sell part of the club to a foreign investment group hence the funding for the changes with the training facilities and redevelopement of anfield etc. Talks with this group is now underway, however they are at an early stage.

As far as players go, suarez is definately going along with assaidi. The club is pushing hard to sign a colombian striker I don't know who though, I suspect it's muriel. The club is also in the mix for erikson and alderweireld. I'm confident toby will sign but not so much with christian.

Believable26 Unbelievable95

That sounds very very good. Hopefully its true!

Agree3 Disagree2

So I haven't been seeing much as to why Rodgers is holding on to Suarez, but my biggest assumption is that he's waiting for Madrid to give up on Bale. If Tottenham won't sell him for 100mill I wouldn't expect Bale to leave this year. Once Madrid gives up on Bale, my guess is they'd go for Suarez. They kind of need to replace Higuain anyways.

Anyways, I dislike Suarez. I feel like he's a huge liability, despite his consistency on the pitch. Unless someone can manage to put a lid on him this year, I'd rather have Sturridge or Aspas take his place.

Agree4 Disagree1

Couple of mistakes but overall a good effort.

Some advice, never start with 'I am not an ITK', especially if you're then going to sound off in exactly that manner.

Still, having started badly you recovered and were doing quite well until you ruined any credibility by mentioning Alderweireld and Eriksen.

Stanley Park will just as likely become a Tesco superstore as it will our training facilities. Meaning never.

Agree2 Disagree1

I think Toby and Christian would slot perfectly into this team. Toby to partner Daniel at centre back with both being quality ball playing defenders. I would of liked to see Gameiro brought in but obviously he's at Sevilla now. I think Matri would also be quality up front and possibly siem de jong. he's a top finisher! Not to keen on the idea of bringing in papa I think his fitness will be a concern and also his temper. Eriksen would fit into midfield and him Coutinho and Aspas would cause havoc on the league. Also think Sturridge will be a goal machine this year

Agree0 Disagree0

I choose to believe this simply because you're the first person I've seen spell 'Colombia' correctly ;-)

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for your post Dave all sounds exciting, plausible and I cannot believe you haven't been annihilated by the negative brigade on here. well done for that at least and keep the rumours coming mate

Agree0 Disagree0

It's possible that it could be Jackson Martinez.
Red fox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Foreign investment for the training facilities i.e. sponsorship for these sounds credible. It may be where the misinformation about FSG wanting to sell comes from. They may actually be in talks but not to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the post.

Ignore the "advice" from the smart alec.

I have no doubts Suarez and Assaidi are being shown the door. And I have no doubt the club is looking for investment.

Interesting news about merging the academy and Melwood. Makes a lot of sense. It is about time we had more youngsters coming into the first team. The merger would help.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez will go to Napoli and unfortunitly Muriel is staying in Italy for another season. Good bit of rumour Dave, ignor the posting police there! Papa is a beast but I agree his injury record isn't great, for a rumoured fee of £13m this could be really risky move. I think it's now time for BR and FSG to put their money where their mouth is and make a statement by sign a couple of "marque" signings to demonstrate to us that they are serious about pushing of a CL place. LFC did a great bit of business in the Jan transfer window, I just hope it can carry on like that. But I'm not to convinced with the signings of Aspas or Alberto. Hope I'm proven wrong
Roadmovie Red

Agree0 Disagree1

What would become of Melwood in that case mate?
A LOT of money has been invested there and the facility ranks along with anything in UK.
Why would it be abandoned?
Load of rubbish that mate, sorry.

The Juicer

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolut rubbish, they have spent a fortune upgrading both the last few years, also if they were to merge them then why Stanley park?. They own both pieces of land and could feasiblly use one of them.

They wouldn't look for investors just to finance a training complex either as they could get a good chunk from one of our commercial partners just for naming rights.

They are going to sell though and if you look at all the balancing of the books the last couple of years its a dead giveaway. I think they have realised that we can't compete without a new ground and even then the extra monies will go to pay the upgrade of Anfield off. Lpool unless we get a rich arab like city won't be competing for years and anyone who thinks the club are showing real progress are mugs tbh.

Agree0 Disagree2

Yes, because balancing the books and trying to make a business self-sustainable is only done when selling a business.

Otherwise clearly the best way to run a business is to run it into the ground and saddle it with debt.

Hello Eds, used the search function and haven't found anything on Adam Morgan in-awhile. Seeing as Coady joined Sheffield United on loan and in his interview said that Rodgers really recommended that he joined the Blades. He was pushing through the move and would learn a lot from David Weir.So basically what are the chances of Adam Morgan also joining the blades, i.e have there been any enquiries or has there been any contact from Sheffield United for any other Liverpool youth players, as I believe they may be need of another striker. Thanks for your time. {Ed001's Note - they have shown no interest in him sorry, nor any other Liverpool players, so far anyway.}

Believable3 Unbelievable14

And? Do you want players experienced in competitive 1st team games or a team at the top of the reserve league?
