Since it seems to come up on more than one occasion at this time of year I thought I'd give some perspective on Agent Fees we have paid.

The last disclosed figures were for the period between October 2013 - September 2014. Four clubs spent eight-figure sums each, with Chelsea spent the most - £16, 7771, 328 - followed by us at Liverpool on £14, 308, 444, Manchester City on £12, 811, 946 and then Tottenham on £10, 983, 011. Further figures included: 5th: Manchester United - £7, 975, 556; 6th: West Ham United - £6, 380, 339; 7th: Everton - £5, 753, 269; 8th: Sunderland - £5, 276, 674;
9th: Arsenal - £4, 293, 407; 10th: Stoke City - £3, 986, 850

We can certainly expect the 2014/15 season figures to be substantially worse as they include payments to sort out Markovic's third party ownership issues amongst other things. I also imagine Manchester United might top the fee chart for 14/15. What must be remembered above is that Chelsea operated at a profit whilst we do not AND Man City have sufficient capacity and capital to not worry whilst Tottenham already have all the money for their stadium development unless I'm mistaken. FSG are trying to get everything in order but if things continue then trying to get LFC on a winning foot by buying success is akin to trying to save a sinking ship with a spoon. We need to have financial stability and that is more important currently than where we come in the premiership.

I guess we can at least take solace from the fact that we are regularly in the top 4 of something. even if it is agent fee payments. Kidding aside, it is bamboozling how much agents remove from the game.

NB - before anyone chimes in I'm not an expert or knowledgeable on any of this. I've simply gleaned some from what Ed002 and Ed001 have said as well as making use of the widely available figures.

{Ed002's Note - looks good man - the only thing is the third party ownership costs for Markovic will not be counted as agent fees. But he didn't come cheap.}

Nice post but with one major flaw, not anywhere do you say how I can become a blood sucking agent myself lol

Didn't us and spurs pay so much because we had a load of players come in and in our case loads also departed?
