So skrtel signs a new deal. Which leaves us with toure,skrtel,lovren,sakho,gomez,wisdom,jones,ilori. Whos going to leave then? Jones,gomez,ilori on loan perhaps. But Ilori been promised game time.

I agree, we have too many (not all that good I might add) centre backs - same situation in midfield - we need to sell.
Unfortunately while I think this summer we have made some decent acquisitions we still have a lot of mediocrity throughout the squad and generally have too many players.

Couple of flaws in your pointless post.
Gomez @ Jones aren't first team players
Wisdom is a right back
As Ed02 has said we've been trying to sell Ilori and if he stays then its likely we'll look for a PL loan so he learns in someone elses team not ours
We have reduced the number of senior CBs by selling Coates
We have shipped out two RBs and signed one better than both of the departees combined
So. we have just four senior CBs
And two better options at RB than last season
{Ed002's Note - Gomez has said he has been told he is in the first team squad. Liverpool have been unable to sell Ilori and he has been told he will be playing (to some extent or other). Coates was not at Liverpool so it makes no difference. Liverpool remain overrun with defenders.

I think Gomez may well be in the first team squad at the start of the season but only because of the injury to Flanagan.
He may get a run out in the Carling Cup and a few bench spots in the Europa but I suspect he will be out on loan come January.
There's no way Ilori is close to a regular first team spot and if the plan was to give him a proper go then explain the Toure & Skrtel deals? His only chance would therefore be a surprise sale of Lovren (yes please) or Sakho.
Coates is relevant because the post was about stockpiling CBs and his sale has reduced the number under contract.

I'm on record saying Skrtel isn't my favourite defender.
My point is none of the others are any better and how you can be so sure about Ilori being more suitable is baffling.
Just admit it's wishful thinking because there's no evidence to back up what you say.

Boom, neither is there evidence that Skrtel is better than all of them because he possesses all the faults the others don't possess even, Lovren. And yes, Toure, Sahko, and Ilori are all better than him and we have seen how good Lovren can be at Southampton while we have seen that for the past two yrs, Skrtel is getting worse and the fact that he plays every game means NOTHING because the guy playing him knows SOD ALL about coaching a defence.
