United fan in peace

Have been reading a lot lately on here about how "this is the worst United side in history" etc, and how "we're still better than United". I'm just wondering where some of you get your views from?

Now if you ever read our site, you'll know that I'm not a big fan of some personnel and the positions I think we have neglected in our side, also I'm not a fan of our style of play. Like most United fans were used to attack, flair, you score 4 we score 5. But, under LVG we won't be playing that style , so I have to get used to it. One thing that he does bring is organisation. Last season despite what everyone says about our defence we conceded the 3rd least goals in the league, and from November onwards took the most points. So it may not be pretty but it is effective.

When I see on this site people saying your still better than us it's total rubbish. 3 consecutive win over you in the league, higher finish, better results agonist the top 4 teams. You can blame your woes on Brenda and I see a lot saying "our squad is brilliant", but you could say the same for us. Other managers could produce better than LVG is doing. If we look at the squads how many of your side would genuinely start in a joint first 11?

De Gea ands down, Shaw lb without doubt, you could take either RB, Smalling would start CB with one of yours. So there's potentially 4 out of 5 from us. Then you have Schneiderlin, one of the best in the league, Schweiny and Carrick, both getting on but influential, depay is raw and needs a year or two, Herrera and mata are both great players, young is as good as any winger you have. Benteke and Rooney pretty even. So over all, when you say you have the better side u find it laughable. Brendan will eventually leave and you'll improve no doubt. But when LVG goes he will have left a steady ship and the next manager and signing will significantly improve us too. Keep dreaming boys

I always think its an act of desperation posting on another clubs page (and that applies to 'reds' fans too).

{Ed001's Note - or perhaps a sign that you love football in general? I always feel it is far more desperate that anyone is so bothered that a fan from another team posts on a site related to their team. Shows a narrow mind.}

What a poor post.

To compare Rooney to Benteke is laughable, obviously you take no notice on how awful Rooney is.

14 Sep 2015 18:00:06
I'm not interested in being better than Man Utd, neither team is winning or even challenging for trophies at the moment. Honestly speaking, Man Utd probably are better, but so what?
I prefer to focus on LFC

Stand, I'm not sure who's saying we're better than you but you certainly have the most average squad you've had in years. Your attack is toothless (you made one chance from open play against us), your midfield is talented but maybe only Schneiderlin would get into City or Chelsea's team and your CBs are stand ins whilst you wait for something better. Your GK and FBs are good though.

We hoped to beat you because clearly you'll be the easiest team to knock out of the top four.

I don`t have a prob with other fans posting stuff on here BUT if you will, post something that makes sense and don`t come here taunting us over a game you won but some of the pundits and even utd fans (and my boss here in the States is one) thought you were dire as well as we were overall. And Rooney over Benteke? The Rooney of five years ago, maybe.

14 Sep 2015 18:17:04
Mighty, Why is it laughable to compare Rooney to Benteke in terms of effect on a team?

Imo both don't seem to fit either of our styles of play.

Granted Benteke scored a worldie on Saturday but what else has he done for you?

If your relying on Benteke doing that every week your going to be disappointed, what has he done to warrant u thinking he is better? Scored an offside goal and scored a worldie, u can't expect that every week like i said.

Rooney on the other hand seems to not grasp what the striker in this system is meant to do(maybe under LVG no other striker will either).

Both are not good enough for each of there teams imo.

I would guess Clyne, Hendo, Coutinho and Benteke would vastly improve Uniteds first 11.

{Ed001's Note - not sure Clyne would, him and Darmian are much of a muchness for me.}

14 Sep 2015 18:44:28
How can you demand to know what benteke has done, he has only played 5 games and has played well got a winning goal, scored an excellent goal and his general play has been impressive

14 Sep 2015 18:58:08
Coutinho and Benteke yes but not clyne or Hendo. Hendo will not get into the side ahead of carrick, schweinsteiger or Schneiderling IMO. Clyne is a good player but Darmian is just as good and time will tell which one is better.

14 Sep 2015 19:04:13
On current form I'd probably side with Benteke over Rooney, but there's nothing between them. As for clyne significantly improving our 11 have a word with yourself. You clearly haven't watched any of Darmains games for us. Coutinho would for sure. Hendo? Not for me. Also we have one stand in CB. Chris Smalling has been fantastic and is improving game on game

He has played that well u have lost at home to west ham, only just beat Bournemouth at home, u didn't score a goal at arsenal and just beat stoke 1-0 away!

I wasn't suggesting he was a bad player so get your knickers out of a twist precious, i just pointing out these good games he is apparently playing have only included a one off strike and an offside goal and as far as i have seen not much else.

As i said he doesn't seem to suit your style of play.
He can be very effective if played the ball in a particular style of play.
Rodgers doesn't want to do that it seems.

If u are expecting him to score the sort of goals he did at old trafford on a regular basis your in for a fright and a long season.

Hello other Utd fan. To turn this on it's head, who of your players get's into our team?

DDG obviously, Shaw, possibly Smalling on form, Schneiderlin, but they're the only clear ones.

Depay hasn't done anything yet, Mata would be Cout's understudy, Rooney's reputation doesn't cut it, no Liverpool fan would drop Hendo for Carrick or Schweini.

You have 4 clearly better players, we have three (four with Sturridge), the rest are much of a muchness.

15 Sep 2015 01:51:20
both sides could have won it and both sides has a squad good enough to be in the top four.

brendan gave united the win by coming to old trafford to defend.

15 Sep 2015 09:01:16
I happen to agree with much of that united lads post, unfortunately.
The remedy for me is the manager and the imposed playing style. If a decent manager had our group of players then it might be different. Ahhh but if your ma was your da.

15 Sep 2015 12:59:16
Im a United fan, but I always had a soft corner for L'pool fans because as like us you support L'pool to the core.

After reading the above post I also agree with my fellow Utd fans that you people are most deluded.

From your L'pool squad except Coutinho no one would get in Utd squad.

One said about sturidge, sturidge was good when he had suarez with him. So, before playing him without suarez don't come into decision that he is world beater.

Both sides could have won it? are you serious. Only team deserved to win was Utd.

Please stop dreaming and try to live in real life.

Your team is just a midtable team.

Utd is the easy one to beat in top 4!!!! What you are smoking??

15 Sep 2015 13:03:18
There is a reason we (United) didn't go for Benteke.
So, stop having a big dream on him.
