So from reading most recent posts it's probably fair to say the majority would prefer AC to take over if/when BR is given the boot. My question to those who do would be how long do you think he would stick around for? Say for instance he is a success and within three years we are a genuine top 4 team that can challenge for the title. Do you reckon he would stick around for the long haul and continue until we won the league or pass it on to someone else? I raise this point as AC is not a young manager and as pointed out been around the block so could easily leave for another challenge. Just interested in people's thoughts

Agree0 Disagree1

I think if he does come in them i cam see him doinga job similar to lvgs at United (hopefully with a better style of football) and then leave perhaps three years down the line with a younger manager taking over.the

Alan Curbishly?

AC? Alan Curbishley? I'd be more worried about him not being in the game for the last 7 years, tbh.

I assume you mean Carlo Ancelotti, unless there's pages of discussing another guy that I've missed. Ancelotti is 56, that's hardly ancient.

It'll be down to whether the Liverpool job continues to interest him and if a job he'd prefer comes around or not. That's an issue with a manager regardless of age (unless he's pushing 70 and there isn't any other interest because of that). Let's say we got Klopp, and he has us challenging for the title in three years, and that's deemed within the world of football to be a good level of performance. He's surely just as likely to have attractive offers as Ancelotti would in that situation? It's down to the club to keep them interested. And that mightn't always be possible.

Of course, if you want a guy who won't ever leave Liverpool unless he's pushed, then we can get Kenny back in as caretaker until the end of the season and then see is Rafa available in the summer.

CA would be a good manager IMO, however, I can't help thinking (maybe wrongly) that we need a manager who is exciting and will show some passion on the touchline. Someone like Klopp for instance (even if he isn't free currently or wanted). I just don't see CA as the ideal fit although far better than BR

Carlo has maybe 10 yrs if he wanted left in management, maybe longer. Unless he had massive success and titles ge wouldn't get that time

Pardrew, apparently quoted in the reliable daily mail he would love to manage a top club and is jealous of Rogers and mourihno ??

Ha yeah sorry got the abbreviation the wrong way around! All good points plus thinking about it even if decided to go the other way with a younger long term coach and that coach becomes successful there's the likelihood of teams like Real Madrid nicking him whereas Carlo has already been there and done it. The only thing I can think of that he hasn't had a go at is international management.

Also guess the era of managers staying with clubs for more than 5 years is gone.

Pardew is not a bad manager tbh he's just a bit of an obnoxious blert.
He would not be high up the shortlist IMO but he has done a decent job wherever he's been.

Mourinho might be available 😃

Pardew? No thanks!

For all mourinhos obvious ability as a manager I still wouldn't want him. Too much history of him being a tw*t during the Benitez era. The guy is the most arrogant, egotistical kn*b with no class. Plus if you listen to his post match press conferences he passes the buck even more than BR, it's always someone else's fault and they should have always been given a penalty etc etc
